Fashion › Re: Are T.M.Lewin Shirts Really Made In Aba?? by hustla(m): 9:27am On Jul 13, 2012
Ricoluv: I am a lover of T.M.Lewin Shirts, but lately, the shirts i buy seem to be poorly sewn and not properly tailored.

My colleagues at work have told me to stop buying as most dealer have found a way to cut corners by having Aba tailors sew these shirts and label them accordingly.

this fact they claim is evident in the various promos they , (shirt dealers) are currently doing where they give huge discount on sales of the shirts.

Please guys what do you think?
Guess u dunno hw 2 differentiate btwn fake and original ish...goto twice as nice and suntan wears in Ikeja,u'd see original TM Lewin shirts there..

kokosheen: @OP, please save your money and buy apple (Macbook pro or Air). The day u use one, u'll find it very hard to go use inferior product like HP. I've a HP laptop somewhere in my wardrobe (of all places abi?) cos I just got tired. It heats up, battery life is scrap, it hangs when playing games with heavy graphics, and the list goes on.
Get a Mac (Pro or Air), partition the darn tin and run both MAC & Windows OS on it. My take sha.

Education › Re: NUC Suspends Caritas, Lead City & Tansian Universities' Licenses by hustla(m): 9:32am On Jul 05, 2012
rhymz: I am so surprise that most of these church run schools did not make the list.
Apart from the fact that many of the schools did not meet the NUC's operational requirements, the way these schools are run leave a lot to be concern about. Schools like Convenant and Redeemer Universities should have been on the list, their owners probably have NUC officials as members, little wonder they did not show on the list.
Nigerian private Universities are a joke and a mockery of what a good religious run University should be. Schools where very unqualified people hold the post of VC all because they own the school, they arbitrarily choose pastors and evangelists to head sensitive positions in the school management. People who hitherto have had no prior experience in running a University are allowed to make very humanly demeaning rules fashioned by their intolerant religious sense of right and wrong; little wonder you go to such schools and all you hear is how the management busies themselves with laws that add little or no progress to the academic development of such schools. Imagine after paying truckloads of cash to educate your kid only for one to hear that s/he had been rusticated from school cos he did not attend the assemble with his bible, imagine making christian religious study a major course for a person studying medicine, engineering, law, and other sciences. If you fail this religious course, you are forced to write them or else you will not graduate. In convenant you are not even allowed to wear a jersey, own a camera phone, have independent academic thoughts or even disagree intellectually with the authorities, yet it is a University. Is there any difference between these so-called church run Universities and rehabilitation centres? Are the students there being taught what they came there to know or what the school Church authorities want them to know. Why should a muslim student be forced to observe prayers different from his own or even study christian religious studies as a major even when his program should have no bearing on such study. Are the NUC aware of this arbitrariness in the way these church gangstars operate?? As if the mass indoctrinations in their churches are not enough they have to still drag it to the school? We want investment in our education but not these ones abeg!! Gone are the days when churches make claims of running any business outside the church as a way to help the poor; that argument has become stale and redundant, they are all profit driven with little or no quality education as they like to claim. Having beautiful buildings inside an enclosed landmass space does not transcend to quality education.
NUC should also take that aspect seriously, there is too much arbitrariness in the way these bible wielding conmen run these schools and put a price tag on education.
U r just a no-brain hater! U spent how many mins composing this hate comment, find somefin to do wif ur life naa!!

The University of Ibadan celebrated its 63rd
anniversary in a great style producing 75
first class graduates out of the 1,647
graduates of the institution.
The graduates were produced by the Faculty
of Arts, Science, Basic Medical Sciences,
Clinical Sciences, Pharmacy, Public Health,
Technology and Law.
All first class graduating students were
given automatic scholarships to commence
their postgraduate programmes in the
University.

dayohope1: I see. Now I know why they do have so many first class graduates. In government owned universities, if you fail any paper, your GP is lowered by that failed paper. It also. Means that if you fail several papers in CU and able to pass your SUMMER papers, you could still graduate with a very strong first class. Can you imagine. In my work place, they work where they only talk but not where the soul of the organisation is.
That happens in Babcock not CU,if u fail a course and rewrite it during summer,it gets cut down,if u get an A during summer,it gets slashed down to a C...
...And I think Babcock has stopped it..Get your facts right not based on hearsay abeg..
So...the people that do the talking are not the soul of the organization? If you were sensible enough you'd know they would more often than not involved in more decision making than dudes that don't even talk..

safarigirl: Many go private cos the public na war if you wan enter, people have lives after schools, if I have the money to go to private, I go, instead ☺₣ hustling for years after secondary school and paying people for admission only to stay six years for Ǟ four-year course. I know people who apply government schools, get over 250 in JAMB and pass their PUME, only to get overlooked for someone with 198 and Ǟ low PUME score, just because they have no connections, hence the public schools aren't even innocent.
Bottom line, whether you graduate from Unilag or Madonna, no employer cares about degree anymore if you prove yourself worthy, degree na paper, it can only take you so far.
Thank God for sensible people like u!

delpee: Another way to assess students is to consider their pass rates in professional exams like ACCA, ICAN, AIB and IT foreign courses. Some of the students in the private universities qualify or pass some of the stages of these exams while in school or shortly after graduation. Those are external exams where sorting is impossible. Methinks their performance is based more on the available facilities and the enforcement of discipline to ensure that lecturers truly teach and students attend classes and study consistently.
God bless u for this Sir!

If this happened in a Nigerian university, some lazy students and graduates will rubbish it. Statements like 'it can't happen in my school; XYZ school dashes people grades; no, the school is glorified secondary school; if he came to my school, he would have had 3rd class; mathematically, it is not possible' etc would have started flying on this thread. I pity such people with negative, pessimistic mentality.
