1. Well, people might want to get UK experience first before applying for the ones with sponsorship. The UK experience helps + sitting around and waiting for sponsorship alone means you get to miss out on other quality experience which will later help you Appying to only coys offering sponsorship can be your strategy though, what works for A might not work for B
2. Yes, my house mate earns 67 also. I think I have seen £80, varies across coys. I earn £30 / sleepin and its cheating tbh. You can always know what youll earn during the interview if you ask

On one hand, you have the voting British populace which has remained largely anti-imigration without considering the positive effect these working age folks bring to the society . Also there is the need to keep salaries competitive and attractive for local folk so that companies dont have the free hand to import foreign workers thereby increasing supply of labour which will result in pay suppression.
On the other hand, you have critical sectors who are lacking staff e.g farms, HGV drivers e.tc. This inhibits growth. Also, without immigration (i.e good supply of labour), the government would need to pay much more for health and social care (if standards were maintained) which results in increased taxes e.t.c. The UK is largely a service based economy and doesn't have the huge export to rely on.

The care visa route post- brexit was intentional. Most care homes were staffed by Eastern Europeans. This workforce quickly dried up. More worrying was that the pay for care jobs was similar to working in the likes of Tesco e.t.c. Without migration, most care home would have either collapsed or be forced to more than double their pay- something the government is unwilling to fund

How can you be shouting that you're understaffed and still require people to 'need sponsorship". Even for the care homes and nurses, it's absurd because what then happens to companies that "don't have enough" to sponsor? Continue to be understaffed?

The system is structured to ensure that students having their finances covered for them to focus on their studies why allowing 20 hours per week to experience the labour market and make some money.

Amarathripple0: I think you are viewing a student visa as a major blocker when in fact some companies like Barclays, JP Morgan & Chase, IBM, PwC etc offer flexible working and job sharing options. You could even secure a job as a student and work with the company on a part time basis then transition to full time after Uni like the girl in the video below did. Lastly, and the most obvious; you can get a full time job when you are actually done with Uni. As for securing the job, just sell the heck out of yourself, be confident, don't come off as desperate and do some research about the company, let your STAR stories align with what they do and their values.
bigtt76: Just state Tier 4 visa or simply specify - Right to Work in the UK (Sharecode - Bleep-Bleep-XX) many won't bother to probe further seeing this as they don't know much about it compared to when they see Student Visa in your CV ...awon werey. If you're in already, You might want to tone down on the request for sponsorship at the interview stage.
Secure the job first, deliver value and negotiate to your advantage.
Some jobs are quite clear on giving sponsorship, for those you can raise it with them at the interview stage. For those that do not state so, you can let it slide at the interview stage.

Gemma11: Comparing it to what she is getting in Nigeria. The brother said she is on 120k a month so assuming she manages to save half of that in Nigeria..she can save more than double that in the UK after all bills and expenses on £29k
Gemma11: £29k is good for Leeds. That is around £1700 (N990k or even higher depending on the exhange rate) per month. She should be able to save at least £500 a month after rent, bills and other expenses.
