otokx:RSSDA staff aren't the same as civil servant teachers in Rivers State. I know a former employee of RSSDA and these circumstances caused him to resign. |
Up till now even the staff of RSSDA have not been paid for 8 months. What's happening in Rivers State?? |
http://thenationonlineng.net/critical-financial-situation-rssda-sponsored-final-year-students-abroad/ On behalf of the Rivers State final year students abroad under the aegis of the Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA), we would like to thank our amiable Governor, His Excellency, Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for promising and assuring us that he will continue the sponsorship of the final year students abroad and also for the continued developmental strides and ongoing projects in Rivers state, even in this harsh economic climate. We wish you all the best and our continued support as you lead us to more progressive and sustainable development. Sir, as final year medical students graduating this year, we would like to bring to your notice our present predicament as a result of non-payment from December 2014 to date (over 1 year and 6 months). We are financially broke to the point that even food can no longer be found on our table, this is alarming but it is what we face day after day. It is embarrassing for us to inform you that, we now rely on begging from friends for even food. It is believed that, food is one of the fundamentals of existence, so how do we survive in strange, far away land without food and roof to cover our heads? Transport fare to the hospitals we do our rotations/clerkships is now very difficult to come by. More so, we have tried arranging with the landlords to give us some time to crack a means to pay them the rents owed them but all our efforts were declined, as we owe over 1 year rent. The landlords have used legal actions against us in order to get back their money, while some students have received court summons and are expected to appear in court in the following weeks if they are unable to pay their rents, others have been given a definite deadline to pay up the rent or face jail term. As a matter of fact, some students have already been evicted from their apartments; now more than seven students are living in one room just to stay under a roof, some are squatting in church members’ and pastors’ houses while others sleep on the streets with no shelter over their heads. The situation is unbelievable and unbearable as Rivers State-sponsored scholars and ambassadors of our great state and Nigeria at large; It is shameful and mind-boggling to inform you that most of the students have been forced to beg for donations from church members and friends just to survive as a result of Government’s inability to release funds for our upkeep. We really do not know what else to do to help our situations as every attempt to get help from the current government has been futile. Also, In addition to non-payment of students’ upkeep and accommodation allowances, tuitions have not been paid. As a reaction to that, the universities have stopped the RSSDA-sponsored scholars from attending classes and sitting for exams. In our Institution here in the Caribbeans, the final year medical students have been stopped from attending clinical rotations/clerkships,which means that we will not be allowed to sit for the final examinations or any licensing exams and may not be able to graduate this year due to the disruption. We fear that our several years of hard work in pursuing our medical degree may be in jeopardy especially considering the fact that we have barely a few months to finish. The situation we find ourselves is very critical as our education and future is at stake. As students, it is difficult for us to concentrate and study in harsh financial conditions, especially now that we should be preparing for our final exams and licensing exams. We do hope for a positive change as we face so many uncertainties. Our condition is now so pitiful that we are hopeless in a foreign land. Also, we would not be able to leave the country, as we are obliged to settle all debts owed and clear every financial commitment accrued (rent, utility bills and loans). We are hereby humbly appealing to the Rivers state governor, His Excellency, Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the Rivers State Government, the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA) and her partners (SHELL, NNPC, Total, ExxonMobil, Chevron, Agip, World Bank, USAID, DFID and NDDC) to please come to ouraid, as we are totally stranded, hopeless and frustrated. We do not know what will become of us in the coming weeks without theGovernment resolving this situation as we are facing uncertainties in a foreign land. Long live Rivers State, Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria. |
Fedayeen02:Zombie? No. I just think it's kind of ironic that people were saying the same thing when Amaechi was Governor and he laid the same complaints. But continue to school me playa lol |
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/07/rivers-pdp-alleges-plot-arrest-partys-leaders-re-run-polls-2/ By Jimitota Onoyume PORT HARCOURT— Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State, yesterday, said it had uncovered an alleged plot to arrest some of its leaders in the state ahead of the July 30 rescheduled re-run elections. Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Mr Sam Wonosike, who disclosed this in Port Harcourt, said the move was part of an alleged game plan to rig the elections, warning that his party will resist any move that will run contrary to the Electoral Act and the constitution during the polls. Fielding questions from newsmen, Wonosike said the PDP was not afraid of going into the elections, adding that the Federal Government and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, should ensure a level playing ground for all participating political parties. He urged President Muhammadu Buhari to call to order leaders of the All Progressives Congress,APC, in the state, saying that they should be cautioned against electoral violence. Wonosike, who is also the Caretaker Committee Chairman, Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state, made reference to a Rivers State High Court, Port Harcourt judgement in suit number PHC/845/2016 restraining the Police and others from arresting or harassing him. He said he had to approach the court sometime ago when he got wind of alleged plot to arrest him over trumped up charges, adding that until the judgement delivered on May 25, 2016 was vacated, any attempt to arrest him will be a violation of subsisting court order. |

I find it funny that this man who was once boasting about closing the airports and the seaports so Amaechi wont run after the election is now the one petitioning for help. |
Ahead of the re-run polls scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to hold in Rivers State on Saturday, March 19, the Rivers State Government has petitioned the governments of 50 countries of the world demanding global surveillance on the process to ensure the conduct of a free, fair and credible election in the state. The petition which was signed by the Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Dr. Austin Tam-George, and sent to the embassies of the 50 countries, read in part: “I write on behalf of the Government and people of Rivers State, Nigeria to inform you respectfully of the imminent danger posed to the peace and stability of Rivers State, by the actions and provocative utterances of the leaders of theAll Progressives Congress (APC)”. The Commissioner accused APC leaders in Rivers State, notably, the Minister of Transport, Chibuike Amaechi, and Dakuku Peterside of resorting to “intimidatory tactics and openly inciting violence against members of the People Democratic Party (PDP) and anyone who holds a different political perspective in the State”. The petition stated that; “in a series of media interviews that began with an appearance on “Focus Nigeria” a live programme on African Independent Television (AIT) in Abuja, and with radio stations in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister for Transportation in Nigeria continues to use language that is both inciting and dangerously divisive ”. It added that Amaechi had also publicity threatened to “flood” every polling unit in Rivers State with soldiers in a bid to rig the election in favour of the APC, and described the threat by Rotimi Amaechi to militarize the re-run polls as “alarmingly dangerous and illegal”, noting that the military had no constitutional role in the country’s electoral process. The petition also alerted that “homes of key leaders of People Democratic Party are being routinely raided and vandalized by Amaechi’s goons, and plans have already been perfected to arrest all leaders of the PDP in Rivers State 48 hours to the election”. The Rivers State Government expressed disappointment over the fact that repeated appeals to the President to call Mr. Amaechi to order had gone unheeded, and warned that the eruption of violence in a state like Rivers, with “multi ethnic fault lines could cripple Nigeria’s ailing economy, and reverberate across the country borders”. The petition further called on the international community to; “urgently initiate and maintain pressure on the Federal Government of Nigeria to allow free, fair and violence free elections in Rivers State”. The petition was sent to the governments of the United States, Australia, China, the European Union, the Chairman of the African Union, among others. http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2016/03/15/rivers-state-government-petitions-government-of-50-countries/comment-page-1/ This man is clearly afraid. You reap what you sew! #WIKEDEYFEAR |
The war on corruption is no joke. 150k for recharge card lol |
Shame on Linda Ikeji.

Sexytemi:Exactly! And to think some clowns on here agree fully with what he says. Don't worry Buhari has something in store for them |
kurupt1:You must be blind. The text was taken from a twitter handle where the person typed the words verbatim from kanu's radio biafra broadcast. He's said much worse than these few excerpts. Fact is the guy is rotting in jail for all the treasonous statements he's made. You madd ![]() |
To all my Niger Delta brothers and sisters here is a sample of some of the insane comments spoken on radio Biafra by Nnamdi Kanu. The man truly deserves to rot in jail and anyone who supports him.

CharlyNick:If civil servants have not been paid for months and there are no new projects on ground and scholarship students from overseas are being sent back to Rivers state please explain to me what the money is being used for? If his own Media advisor resigned due to non payment then you need to help us understand what he's doing with all these funds since you seem to have a better understanding of what's going on. I'll wait for your explanation. |
The documents obtained show Wike's application for a total of 32 billion naira loan from September to November. Sources indicate that the loan facilities will be used in the inevitable re-run of the Rivers state Governorship election. Meanwhile state civil servants and employees of state agencies such as the RSSDA have not been paid salaries and will not be beneficiaries of the loan facilities. More to come!

While working for the Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA) it was funny to see Igbos pretending to be from areas such as Omuma and Etche just so they could take part in the RSSDA scholarship scheme. We literally had to form a crack team to investigate the origin of some of these candidates due to the fraudulent actions. It goes to show that they know that without Rivers state their cause is lost. We give them business they benefit from our resources and they marry Rivers indigenes and get Civil Service jobs at our expense and they want to rope us into Biafra. No thanks! Platinum thread ![]() |
ezeagu:Only a person who ISN'T from Rivers state would say something like this. Please stay out of the affairs of my State since you don't live here and know nothing about it. kindly enter your bus and go back to Biafra. We don't want. |
ezeagu:So it's semantics you want to play? Lol you didn't answer my question. Are you from Rivers state or were you bused in like the rest of the biafrans? Port Harcourt belongs to Rivers people not Biafrans. |
ezeagu:I live in Eliozu an Iwerre community that you speak of. They are complaining everyday. Are you from Rivers state? |
ezeagu:It's not according to me it's according to history. It actually happened my friend. These groups are causing trouble in my state trying to rope Rivers state into their fight when the majority of Rivers indigenes don't want any part of it. Understand now? |
melzabull:Omuma, Etche, Oyigbo are igbo indigenous areas. So the protests should be confined to those areas. Not Port Harcourt. |
Even leaders in other South South states like Akpabio and Ibori have spoken and they command a very large following ethnically and Politically. That means no Delta state no Rivers state and no Akwa Ibom state. Soon you'll hear from Cross Rivers and Edo. That means your only hope of South South inclusion will be Bayelsa. Once Goodluck see's his destabilization has run it's course he will dump the Igbos' just as he did when he captured all their votes and did nothing for them once he got elected. |
Biafra will only be attractive to Igbo Rivers localities such as Omuma, Etche, Oyigbo etc. But when you look closely all of them are not united in this quest. Core Rivers ethnic groups such as the Okrikans, Kalabari, Ogoni, Ikwerre etc have completely distanced themselves from this agitation. Rivers people have a right to choose sides and they are choosing Nigeria. Why condemn them for not fighting for a lost cause. If any ethnic Rivers person speaks to an elder that lived through the Biafran war they will tell you that the Igbo man's quest for self determination will be at the expense of the Rivers man as it was during the war. So please stop packing your buses and entering Rivers state with this Biafra nonsense. We don't want!!! |
The first of many rejections by Rivers indigenes of Biafra. Their sponsors will soon be exposed because this agitation is doomed to fail. |
http://thenationonlineng.net/rivers-elders-reject-biafra/ The Rivers Elders and Leaders Council (RELEC) Chairman Chief Albert Horsfall and Secretary Lawrence Ibiayenie, yesterday warned that Port Harcourt should not be turned to a battle ground by pro-Biafran agitators. The elders described the protests by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as uncalled for. Rivers people are not Biafrans, they insisted. According to them, it is wrong to transport Igbo youths in trailers and buses from the five states in the Southeast zone, to protest in Port Harcourt, thereby halting commercial activities, destroy property and cause untold hardship for motorists, commuters and pedestrians. RELEC said: “The attempt by these elements (IPOB members) to focus on Port Harcourt for their political rascality is totally unacceptable and is hereby condemned by Rivers Elders and Leaders Council. The action so far taken by the Biafran protesters in Port Harcourt is highly provocative to all genuine sons and daughters of Rivers State, who have so far restrained themselves from confronting the demonstrators in Port Harcourt. “The choice of Port Harcourt (for IPOB’s protests) may be a deliberate ploy to make the Rivers State capital the battle ground for any fracas that may follow their rascality. We reject these moves in its entirety and hereby repeat our warning that they (Biafran protesters) must desist forthwith. “Rivers State people are not Biafrans and had never been and will never be. The RELEC wishes to call on all elders and leaders of the states from which these youths have been pouring into Port Harcourt, for this unwelcome and unwholesome political rascality, to call their youths to order and forbid them from forever staging further demonstrations and protests in Port Harcourt and other parts of Rivers State. “RELEC wishes to observe the good neighbourly relationship which has always existed between Rivers people and their neighbours. We wish that the cordial and mutually beneficial relationship should continue to exist. Persons responsible for the pro-Biafra protests must immediately halt the unfriendly activities forthwith.” Rivers elders and leaders also stated that they “strongly” supported Wike’s ban of protests in Rivers state, which they said would go a long way to promote peace, thereby moving the state forward. Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike in a broadcast on Wednesday banned further protests by IPOB members and demonstrations by other groups. The Rivers Commissioner of Police, Musa Kimo, also noted that his command would not allow lawlessness or breakdown of law and order. Senate minority leader Senator Godswill Akpabio also condemned the Biafran agitators. Speaking at the venue of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) conference in Abuja, Akpabio, a former Akwa Ibom State governor, called on the Federal Government and the states where the militias are protesting to stop the spread of the agitation. “The Biafra agitators must be told that those who witnessed the Nigerian civil war will never wish to experience another war in their entire lifetime. “If you don’t like the government of the day, you must wait for another election to vote them out”, Akpabio said. |
Here is the actual letter from Mr. Inko-Tariah showing why he resigned. This shows that the rumor mill is true and Wike is keeping all Rivers state funds to himself. All of his remaining supporters will continue to starve if they keep supporting this drowning man.
