Nicolo De Marchi: Juventus fan walks to Berlin for Barcelona ticket Nicolo De Marchi has trekked 683 miles from Turin to Berlin - where his beloved Juventus meet Barcelona on Saturday - to get his hands on a ticket, which the Italian club said they would provide if he completed the journey to the prestigious final. His efforts stem from a pledge he made when tweeting the club on their 'if we get to the final' hashtag prior to the Old Lady's semi-final win over Real Madrid. "I will go on foot," wrote the 22-year-old, who has passed through Italy, Austria, Switzerland and Germany on his route. He arrived a day later than planned because, as he explained on Instagram, "the fatigue was so great".Staff at Juventus - a club without a European Cup success since 1996 - were inundated with pledges from fans saying they would get tattoos or marry at the final if the club qualified. And when they did, with a 3-2 aggregate win over Real, Nicolo received a shock when Juve issued their challenge. The club said it "threw down the gauntlet" to Nicolo, who has been allowed to use a bike for parts of the journey and a car for 12 miles because of hazardous conditions, and he has now matched his words with his actions. http://m.bbc.com/sport/football/33012443 |
Issokay..Let the revelations begin. It's only in FIFA where in the midst of all corrupt officials, only one man seems to be the 'holy' one - Sepp Blatter. Thank goodness he's gone already. |
Lord have mercy! |
At long last!...We've seen so many scandals and problems in FIFA, raising quite a lot of questions over how the organisation has been run in recent years under Blatter's watch. I'm not implying that he is corrupt but I believe leaders should be judged by results and in my own opinion, Blatter has done a terrible job over the years. It's been a long time coming and it's a good thing he has finally taken responsibility and done the needful by resigning. I wish him well. |
Pls friends send me the past question material. I need all the help I can get. Thanks. hydyuko@gmail. com |

OMG..what a drama!! If this topic is anything to go by, I think Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is officially more confused and clueless than her boss GEJ. So this madam (Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala) personally holds a press conference (I watched it on NTA), telling the world that 56% of the 2012 budget has been implemented, only for the Fed. Govt. to retract the claims a few days later, and suprisingly, the same Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was absent. Very funny, isn't it?? Oh Fresh Air, what else do you have for us?? |
..I know how much we all love to oppose GEJ, but the truth is..if we don't jointly fight these terrorists anywhere they emanate from(even in neighbouring countries), very soon they'll form a network and formidable branches all over west Africa, and by then we will all be in BIG trouble# If Mali is evidently losing the battle against these blood thirsty terrorists, it's not wrong for GEJ to consider sending a little army(if we can afford it) alongside soldiers from the other countries to help out. I may be wrong, but I think that's one reason why we have international organisations like ECOWAS and so on. |
