It's usually very expensive during dry season because of the difficulty in harvesting cassava that time. The time to dry and stock is now.

jaxxy: Hausa muslim speak Arabic actually.. it's a religion thing. Same with southwest Muslims. I am only suggesting inclusiveness and sense of belonging which every region and religion seeks. Nothing more They learn it; it's not their mother tongue. It is not a religion thing, neither is it a regional thing. It is an official thing. |
Politics › Re: Redesigning Of Naira Notes: Retain The English & Arabic Languages - Adamu Garba by IamAsiri: 10:26pm On Oct 27, 2022 |
jaxxy: I'm not hausa. I don't have to be hausa to understand what hausa feel or face same with other tribes. We are all from.same creator..
there should be a sense if inclusiveness. same way I fight for that for igbos I have same energy for other regions and tribes especially major ones. Then, you should know that it's not fair to fulfill the wish of just a particular region of the nation when there are several others. Hausas have their own language that is not the same as Arabic. If not, they will not be going to Arabic schools again to learn the language. |

unscripted: the same way Arabic does not represent Islam, there are Christian Arabs, there is even an Arabic bible.. so if the nations note accommodates the peoples belive I do not see anything wrong in that .. Exactly! We can all read English. You are the one contradicting yourself. It should not have to do with religion, at all. English is the official language here. Other languages are national languages, and Arabic is not one of them. |

unscripted: bro , look deeper into your analysis.. we are a nation with people of heterogeneous characters.. English represents Christianity to the Muslims the way Arabic represents Islam to Christians... and they are just languages.. so for equality I agree they shud both be on the new notes English does not represent Christianity. Please don't get this wrong. Some Odu Ifa books are written in English language. English language is the nation's official language. |

jaxxy: incorrect. it's not just a region bt also a religious group. They are significant.
I know southwest Muslims who also study Arabic. So? Some people studied Yoruba too as a language. Southwest Muslims who studied Arabic can read English language as most of them went to school. If Hausa language is the issue, then they should write dubu naira instead of the Arabic on 1000 naira notes and and so on. Some of these your Hausa people... don't they have accounts? How were they able to open accounts in various banks? Why didn't they insist on Arabic account opening forms or why didn't they write their names in Arabic and see their forms thrown out into the dustbin? |
Politics › Re: Redesigning Of Naira Notes: Retain The English & Arabic Languages - Adamu Garba by IamAsiri: 9:14pm On Oct 27, 2022 |
jaxxy: it's not official bt it's recognised by a majority. That's quite acceptable for inclusiveness since many up north don't speak English the official language. Just a region out of how many? That's marginalisation of other regions which is what we don't want. That's not "bringing unity", but rather supremacy of a particular region which leads to disunity. |
Politics › Re: Redesigning Of Naira Notes: Retain The English & Arabic Languages - Adamu Garba by IamAsiri: 8:38pm On Oct 27, 2022 |
jaxxy: ok beautiful bt Arabic is widely adopted bt not official.
like I said its to foster unity not disaffection or intolerance. But you kept trying to prove how unofficial English is. Anyway, to foster unity, they should include all the major languages in Nigeria or just leave the official language on it. What irks me is the fact that a clown who says he was a presidential aspirant refers to arabic as an official language in Nigeria. Thank God he is not the president . |

jaxxy: an adopted language isn't neccessarily foisted. As for Arabic is was adopted by the muslims and majority of the north who are part of Nigeria.
u cannot dictate to them like they can't dictate to u. Nigeria is mixed religious and we must always acknowledge and accept it. The fact that some people decided to adopt it because they like it doesn't make it official. I am sure you know this. There is no way you can argue it; what is unofficial is unofficial. |

jaxxy: English is adopted like Arabic. none stops us from speaking what we want bt the fact is both are generally adopted.
what's the issue with Arabic really?? Arabic was not adopted by the country "Nigeria" and that is what is wrong. So, you shouldn't foist it on us by force. English was foisted on us due to colonisation and it became our official language. Both languages were not adopted officially. |

jaxxy: The north go to Arabic schools even b4 they were colonised cos they definitely didn't get it from the brits It's a universal language for the North and Muslims like English is for Christians.
Accept this and know peace. English is not the language for Christians. It is the official language for the country. Yorubas spoke Yoruba language and the Hausas decided to be speaking Arabic right before colonisation. It has not stopped each region from speaking its native language, but to now be saying that because a region has refused to make the country's official its own, we should include their adopted language as part of the country's official language is unheard of. |

jaxxy: Northerners colonised by Brits don't speak English. most speak or understand Arabic. Accept it and know peace.
Don't force on others what u don't want forced on u. Too bad! Some Yorubas, Igbos and other minorities can't speak and don't understand English in any form or shape, yet they spend the money without asking a whole section be dedicated to translation to different languages and dialects. Other regions that can speak English decided to educate their children and if you are a Northerner too, it was because your parents thought it was necessary to send you too. The fact that some people have refused to go to school and learn the official language among other things must not be a sort of advantage to them over others; if you wish to think objectively, that is. |

when u go to dubai and they have Arabic on their currency there are no issues with it. Nigeria is very mixed religious and we must acknowledge it. You were colonised by Arabs? What does it have to do with religion here? Those colonised by France speak French, while those colonised by the Brits speak specifically UK English. How did Arabic official language get adopted? |

ofinglobal: You are right. Cold storage does not kill bacteria. it essentially puts them into hibernation. They are inactive while the food is frozen and will “wake up” as soon as the food thaws. We can say cold storage killing bacteria is a myth, which is false. It does prevent bacteria and also keep them inactive. Yeah. While the myth is talking about cold storage being bacteriocidal, it is actually bacteriostatic. It greatly slows down the actions of bacteria which involves replication. |

Dawson126: Good day everyone,
I'd just go straight to the point and mod, I don't know if I'm doing this in the right session but I just believe I'd get reviews from experienced people from the family session.
I recently graduated from the University but for my long life dream of becoming a medical doctor, I just found a way into the medical school having gone through many hurdles because I would have studied Medicine earlier but money denied me.
The issue I'm facing now is that, I've been doing businesses and working for some time now (you can check my previous threads here) and I have been saving towards my aspiration. I entered a 6 month savings contract with a company which would be completed by December and with some help coming from my mum, I have saved quite some cash already (close to 600k). Thinking ASSU would resume towards December this year and January we would resume school and I was told 6 months was the minimum I could do.
ASSU strike has been called off and my university is trying to rush things and all. I contacted the company and I was told no matter what I do, I would only be given the money by December that that was the contract.
Right now, registration is closing soon and I've got about 150k with me and my school fees is about 380k app.. I can pay 50k out monthly monthly without much problem. If I see 200k, I would know how to go about the rest and A friend advised me to consider the option of online loan and bank loan (nothing favourable is even coming from those people).
Elders, My enquires are that: Which of these online loan institution would be good for me and how do I go about it? Is there any other option available apart from these. I need wisdom please and don't want this opportunity to go just like that.
Thank you all. When is the deadline for the payment of the fees? |

In fact it is a welcome development as these guys in diaspora will make returns to develop the Nigerian economy.
