Nigerians truely don't understand the meaning of corruption.

What exactly do Nigerians think CORRUPTION is ? tongue

Everyone talks and behaves as they were born yesterday.

Aside from little children, how can thinking, even educated adults ever think that a dent can be made against corruption simply by this noisemaking and media trials of opposition figures?

And by whom?
That being the funniest part.

If anything, Buhari has done so much to encourage and promote CORRUPTION.

Well,, that's your opinion, and you can't be beaten for that.

To me,, Buhari is really trying to solve this corruption issue, , and God will continue to help him more.

Politics / APC Has Reduced Corruption In Nigeria by Iamdagreatguy(m): 1:20pm On May 22, 2016
Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau says the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government has reduced the level of corruption in the country.

Lalong said this when he featured on the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Forum in Abuja on Sunday.

He also said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption posture was bringing integrity back to the country.

“The issue of corruption has been reduced to a level in this country.

“In the past you saw what was happening – petrol no disclosure, they wouldn’t tell you how much we’re getting, but today with the posture of our President, I think fighting corruption is rated very high outside.

“They may say we are still corrupt but nobody has said that our President is corrupt.

“When they cannot find anything bad against your leader that in itself is earn integrity to the nation.

“And then secondly, some of the things he has been doing, the restructuring he has done – this is the first time we are seeing a bailout to states.’’

Lalong, however, appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the Federal Government, saying that things would soon get better.

He expressed his support for President Buhari’s decisions on many national issues including the recent increase of the pump price of petrol.

“The decision taken by the President especially in respect to the price of petrol should be seen as painful, but a surgery that would heal and once the wound heals we would be smiling.

“We would not remember that we went through that pain.

“If you look at it very well you would realise that it is something that was quite inevitable.

“It is better to do it now, otherwise we would come to regret and I stand with him, we governors also stood with him, the National Assembly are with him.

“We are appealing to those who are doing the strike or partial strike in some states to understand and also go along with the President and see what this can bring as his efforts in restoring the glory of this country.’’

Politics / The President Speaks by Iamdagreatguy(m): 12:58pm On May 22, 2016
PMB speaks, I am touch but insist on reduction of the price hike. President Muhammadu Buhari speaks

YOUR SACRIFICES NOT IN VAIN

By Mohammadu Buhari

President, Federal Republic of Nigeria

Fellow Nigerians,

1) From the depth of my heart, I choose to speak to you directly, my loving country men and women. First, let me thank you for your perseverance, your courage, your sense of duty and the sacrifices you commit every day, every hour and every minute. On this day, I want to assure you again, that you have not made these sacrifices in vain. The agony is telling. I know it. I feel it. I share it. But I assure you, as the President of this great nation, that swore to uphold integrity and honour, Your sacrifices will not be in vain.I assure you with the highest sense of responsibility that this rough moment will fizzle away, like a candle in the whirlwind.

2) I have chosen this moment to address you, the poor and the rich, the artisan, the cobbler, fishermen and herdsmen, haggling market women, the able and the physically challenged. I speak to the young and the old, I speak to men and women, armed and defenseless people alike. I speak to the people I swore to protect and defend: I speak to you, fellow Nigerians.

3) You will recall that last year, you gave me the mandate to lead Nigeria. I feel proud about the sacrifices you made, the scorching sun that you defied and the agony of waiting to cast your votes, and in some cases, standing for several hours in order to save the country that was already heading for a shipwreck. It is now one year that I stepped on this throne, after you gave me the opportunity to lead Nigeria. I cherish this and I thank you.

4) Fellow country men and women, today, I stand before you to tell you the truth and nothing but the truth. No doubt, your living experiences through the past years are enough to tell you about the situation in which the country was left in my hands. I want to tell you that since we began this journey, what has kept us going is faith; the faith we have in God, the faith we have in you, derived from the confidence you have in me.

5) I met a country that was comatose, like an aged woman, bleeding from mindless gang rape. The treasury was mindlessly looted, the external reserves plundered. In return, government officials and their collaborators bought mansions abroad, for themselves, their children, their mistress, their aides and even their children yet to be born. It was history’s most malicious onslaught on a decent people. It is regrettable that the consequences on social security, utility services and livelihood of Nigerians remain enormous. The population of the poor and vulnerable has increased tremendously. States’ economies are on life support, almost at the point of death; many of them can no longer meet their obligations and some face the risk of total collapse. There is a particular state that received allocations from the Federal Government, barely enough to pay for diesel needed for a whole month, not to talk of workers’ salaries. Jobs and opportunities for you have shrunk.

6) In fact, workers’ salaries have not been paid for several months in some states. Pensioners continue to wallow in abject poverty in the twilight of their years; the conditions of our public hospitals nose diving into disrepair, the morale of unpaid workers remain at an all time low. Without salaries, how will parents pay the school fees of their wards? Without the required FG allocations, how will states meet their obligations to the teeming population of expectant people? The fact is that state resources have diminished. The price of oil in the international market has compounded the plight of our people.

7) Please note that for the past one year, I have preoccupied myself with recovering these stolen funds kept in some of the darkest secret recesses of Islands and in Europe. By the last count, we are likely to recover the equivalent of half of Nigeria’s entire one year budget or more, from the accounts of people once voted to lead Nigeria and their cronies. Apart from recovering the looted funds, it has come to a point that we also need to make sacrifices to see the greater future that lay ahead. You are not going to make the sacrifices alone. I will make sacrifices. My wife will make sacrifices. My children will do the same. My personal expenditure will be cut. My state-supported finances will be drastically reduced. Half of my monthly salary will go to Children Charity Organisations across the 36 states.

cool My country men and women, I must tell you, we have at hand a key decision. I’m very sorry; this will at first hurt you. But on the long run, you will realize that having a lovely new baby requires come inevitable painful labour. It is on this note that we have taken the rational though painful decision to increase the price of oil from 87 naira. I expect you to be in shock or even embarrassed. I was shocked when the idea was first mooted, but Im convinced that with a decent and morally upright leadership, I assure you once again, that this sacrifice will not be in vain.

9) I believe that all the over 150 million Nigerians may not know me personally, but at least your massive support for me during the last Presidential election was an indication that you have some good knowledge of my person. I say again: I will NEVER STEAL your money. I will also NOT ALLOW YOUR MONEY TO BE STOLEN. I will use your money judiciously. I will plough this money into great and remarkable ventures that will uplift Nigeria up from her state of economic stupor. I will bring hope from despair. I will put an end to your cries and your unending affliction. I will challenge and daunt tour tormentors.

10) I have given directives, which I’m sure you know my aides will firmly adhere, to roll out palliatives. I will create more jobs. I will rekindle the transportation system, build our long neglected roads, create millions of jobs, rekindle our long suffering railways, our public hospitals, our environment, our bridges, our agrarian sector and above all make life more abundant for you the owners of the country on whose behalf I am here to serve, in a honest and passionate manner. I assure you fellow country men and women, Your sacrifices will never be in vain!!!

GOD BLESS NIGERIA

AS I DROP MY PEN AS AN UNDERGRADUATE!!!!!!!

"Your education is a dress rehearsal for a life that's yours to lead"- Nora Ephron

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step, they say.
The journey started late 2008 when I secured admission into The Polytechnic Ibadan, to study Estate Management. After two sessions with upper credit, I graduated and was fortunate to be employed by the defunct Intercontinental Bank where I worked for a while before I successfully secured admission into the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife as a direct entry student to study the noble profession Estate Management.

OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY ILE-IFE
The journey in OAU which is more of blessings is recapitulated with favorable and unfavorable conditions, OAU which is well known for strike actions did not disappoint me in anyway during the course of my stay. OAU is a school blessed with natural characteristics, the state of the art structures, the aesthetics and landscape is nonpareil to any school in Africa, that explains why it's being referred to as "Africa most beautiful campus". OAU community is a peaceful community, the serenity is unsurppasable with top-notch buildings, cosmographical architecturally designed structures to serve as a tourist centres.
7am-7pm lectures mostly on daily basis, frequent assignments, carrying of drawing board and other drawing instruments thrice in a week, practicals under scorching sun, are part of what characterized my days in OAU. Getting home in the night with discombobulation on what to do, either to cook and eat, do assignment, read for impromptu test, or sleep and forget all because I have to wake up very early in the morning.

STRIKE ACTIONS IN OAU
It's apropos for me to include this strike actions in OAU. OAU is a school that its management see strike as a way of punishing any union. They see closing down of school as a thing of joy, also ASUU and NASU are not left out, ASUU are used to demanding 56days leave forgetting that they are dawdling the life of students. In year 2012 when I was in part 2 ASUU went for 56days leave, in part 3,we went for 6months ASUU strike, after 2nd semester break ASUU requested for another 56days leave which was granted. On resumption for part 4 we went for close to 3months strike which resulted from school fees increment protest. Part 5, Management and NASU rift which precipitated into more than a month strike action, this supervene into shutting down of school for a week due to the demise of Ooni Sijuade, followed by a month break for coronation and convocation.

POOR WELFARISM IN OAU
With top of the world architecturally designed structures, the maintenence structure of OAU is nothing to write home about, most toilets in all halls of residence are bad, the storex tanks are dirty with some leaking, bathrooms are in a despicable state, always smelling, overcrowding in all halls of residence due to inadequate hostel, germy, unhygienic water, conditions of chairs and tables at lectures theatres are getting worse day in day out, drainages are dirty, stinking with stagnant water.

POSSIBLE WAY OUT
Sincerity, passion, readiness to service, love for humanity, fear of God etc from the management will go a long way. The current cabals of management who have held this school to ransom should be obviated in the next administration. The unnecessary ongoing new senate Building which can be adjudged as a misplacement of priority should be stopped and d funds diverted to restructuring, renovating, reconditioning of all the hostels, lectures theatres etc. Construction of new hostels to ameliorate the problems faced. Lastly and most importantly, REINSTATEMENT AND THE INDEPENDENCE OF OUR BELOVED UNION (STUDENTS' UNION).

MY APPRECIATION
It's pertinent to give honor to whom it's due. First and foremost, I appreciate the most high God, the I am that I am,Ancient of days for sparing my life, for being my God even though am a sinner, He never leaves me to suffer, indeed you're the incomparable God. My parent Cath. and Mrs. Afolabi for their support- morally, financially, spiritually and in all aspects, my siblings Mr. and Mrs. Job, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Afolabi, Rev. Calistus Afolabi, all my extended families, my cousins, my lecturers who through lectures, personal encounters, advise me on ways of life and how to be relevant. To all my friends and colleagues (The Domitors) and others too numerous to mention, I appreciate you all.
Lastly, to the department of Estate Management, where I served as the head - protocol committee for the first National Estate Management Students' Association (NEMSA) Conference (2011/2012 session). Financial secretary Estate Management Students' Association (2012/2013 session), Speaker Estate Management Students' Representative Council (2014/2015 session).
To the faculty of Environmental Design and Management, where I served as the pioneer Electoral Commission Chairman (2014/2015 session).
To OAU students' union where I served as an honorable member OAU students' Representative Council (2013/2014 session) Welfare Committee member Great Ife Students' Union (2013/2014 session). Am very grateful for the opportunities given to serve.

Today, 4th of April, 2016 am happy to drop my pen as an undergraduate after successfully writing my last paper (ESM 506).
Let me depart with this words of advice to my fellow graduates.
"Life is the most exciting opportunity we have. But we have one slot. You graduate from college ones, and that's it. You're going out of that nest. And you have to find that courage that's deep, deep, deed in there. Every step of the way "- Andrew Shue

God bless me
God bless Estate Management department
God bless faculty of EDM
God bless OAU
God bless Nigeria
