ojuolu:
Do you guys understand the working of an economy like ours? The history of economic development will vindicate the decision of the Nigerian government in the nearest future. An economy inherited in the troll of death and almost in a state of coma need jump starting. TSA money are mostly generated by agencies, department and parastatal and also left over from budgetary expenditures of this department, ministries and parastatals. Most of these funds will go into recurrent expenditures. Funds recover from looters are subjects and evidences in litigation cases that are arising and will arise in the course of these recoveries. So objectively, we are not suppose to touch the money now. Government agencies such as FIRS, NNPC, NIMASA, and Custom and other revenue generating bodies will generate revenue but we know these revenues will come in on monthly basis. Finance is bridging gaps in expected revenue and proposed expenditures. If the scheduled revenue time frame is not in tandem with the proposed expenditures, external finance is an option. This is the case for Nigeria presently.
Moreover, where did Fayose get loan servicing at 25% of the budget? DMO said 12% and even with the borrowing it will still be less than 16% of the GDP. So who should we believe?
The question i want to ask these people clamouring for other Governors to emulate Governor Fayose, do you prefer Willie Obiano of Anambra to Fayose? Yes for me. Anambra have been having it good in terms of Governors and leaders in the last few years, Peter Obi, Willie Obiano are two governors with progressive minds who keep working when others were and are busy crying. Show me what Fayose has done in two years and i will show you what Willy has done in a year for you to be the judge. Like a commentator said, Fayose lack the ability to see the big picture and in playing opposition, he is causing more damage to the masses than to the government.
Right thinking youths and leaders of thoughts should not play politics with Nigeria's future at this point. US almost default on their debt obligations to China late 2014 and early 2015. Other countries have loan burden. UAE used external finances in building thier major cities and they are reaping the benefit today. The question we should be asking should be about the loan purpose and its sustainability? Let us task our leaders and politicians to ensure there is no diversion and the loan is use to enhance the productive and infrastructural capacities of the nation. These in return could have unbelievable impacts in both the short and long runs.

PoliticsLagos To Sign Mou On 4th Mainland Bridge Before May29....says Ambode by iamdynamite(op): 8:04pm On Apr 14, 2016
Lagos to sign MoU on 4th Mainland Bridge before may 29- Ambode
…Orders Police to enforce Okada restriction on Mile 12-Ikorodu road
…Urges street urchins to lay down arms for rehabilitation, empowerment
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Thursday said the State Government will formally sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with investors for the construction of the proposed 4th Mainland Bridge before the end of May 2016.
The Governor, who spoke at the First Quarter 2016 Town Hall Meeting, the third in the series, held at the Ikorodu Town Hall, Ikorodu, assured residents that once the MoU is signed, work would begin on the 4th Mainland Bridge, which according to him, would go a long way to boost the economy of Lagos East Senatorial District.
He said, “Many investors have shown interest in the actualization of our dream for the 4th Mainland Bridge which will run from Ajah to Ikorodu to Isawo and berth at Ojodu, Ikeja back to the Ibadan expressway. By the grace of God, we will sign an MoU and commence action before May 29”.
He said investors have equally shown interest in the redevelopment of the fish market to an international Fish Market and the redevelopment of inner roads in Epe and Ibeju-Lekki.
Governor Ambode said the intention of his administration is to ensure that no part of the state is left undeveloped, expressing optimism that the Lagos East Senatorial District which used to be the economic hub of the state in the then Western Region will regain its position.
“Over the years, the economic activities have continually dwindled resulting in urban migration, underdevelopment and unemployment. It is with a view of revitalizing the economic activities of this zone that Government has identified the need for urgent intervention.
“To this end, Government will be relocating the Mile 12 Market to Imota. Work on this will commence next week. Our vision is to make the East Senatorial Zone economically viable and liveable”, he said.
Responding to complaints on the menace of motorcycles, otherwise known as Okada in the State, Governor Ambode asked the people whether they would support a total ban on such mode of transportation in this age and time and in a city like Lagos, a question which was answered in the affirmative by majority of the stakeholders in the hall who raised their hands in support.
The Governor said: “I’m encouraged by this very transparent, credible, free and fair affirmation which I just got from the people. From the response, many of the people in this hall are in support of a total ban on Okada and since this is a government of the people, all the security agencies in Lagos including the Police, Task Force, LASTMA and others, to start with, are hereby directed to fully enforce the ban on Okada between Mile 12 and Ikorodu.
“We will not tolerate Okada on the road and I hereby emphasize that there is no more Okada on Mile 12-Ikorodu Road. Anyone caught flouting this directive will have their Okada impounded and we would prosecute such people as well before the court,” the Governor said.
Speaking on the need for the youths in the state to key into the programmes lined up for them by his administration, Governor Ambode urged street urchins and youths involved in social vices such as cultism to lay down their arms assuring that they would be empowered to be gainfully and productively engaged.
He said the plan of his administration is that youths, artisans and entrepreneurs in each of the Senatorial districts and divisions in the State would be able to access at least N1billon between now and June, and use same for their greater economic prosperity, and by extension that of the State.
Governor Ambode, who also responded to pleas by residents in Ikorodu on the need for the expansion and rehabilitation of the road network, assured that government will explore the Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiative to transform the Ikorodu-Imota-Agbowa-Itokin-Epe Road into a standard 8-lane Road.
He also directed the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources as well as the State Electricity Board to look at the possibilities of providing electricity for Igbo-Olomu community, a suburb in Ikorodu, which has been without light for over 10 years.
Highlighting some of his administration’s strides in the last quarter, Governor Ambode said the State achieved major breakthrough in security, saying that since the launch of the N4.78 billion equipment, the state had won several battles against crime.
He said the quick response in the rescue of the kidnapped girls in Ikorodu and the quelling of the Mile 12 riot were testimonies of the effectiveness of the security system in Lagos.
The Governor added that many criminals had so far been arrested since the launch of the security equipment, saying that he was ready to pay for information given that would lead to the arrest of hardened criminals.
“I am ready to pay monetary compensation for information on hardened criminals as we proceed to make Lagos crime-free. We are happy to report that crime rate has also reduced in the last three months,” he said.
Governor Ambode also used the occasion to appeal to residents to continue to pay their taxes, take ownership of projects in their domain and support the government to achieve the policies and programmes aimed at ensuring a safe and prosperous Lagos.

PoliticsFayose Aide Threatens To Kill Fayemi's Adviser........ by iamdynamite(op): 10:19am On Apr 13, 2016
Former Special Adviser on Security to former Governor Kayode Fayemi, Colonel Joseph Babatunde Oluwayose (rtd), has raised the alarm over alleged threat to his life by the Special Assistant to Governor Ayodele Fayose on Traffic and Environment, Ariyo Afolabi.
In a petition to the Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command and copied to the State Director of the Department of State Services, the National Human Rights Commission and State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Oluwayose alleged that on April 11, 2016, around 18:47hours, Afolabi called him on mobile phone number 08033829346 in the presence of his wife to threaten him.
The APC Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, said in a statement that Oluwayose explained in his petition that his wife heard all the governor’s aide said because his phone was on speaker.
Olatunbosun quoted the retired military officer as saying: “He issued a threat to me to the effect that ‘I will ensure that I kill you and your wife if you continue to make negative comments on the government of Governor Fayose’.
“It is imperative to make this official report as a Senior Military Officer who knows the security risk Mr Afolabi has constituted to members of the opposition parties in Ekiti State.”
Olatunbosun alleged that Afolabi is notorious for using thugs to attack members of the opposition political leaders on behalf of Fayose.
“In fact, he had earlier attempted to attack me with plank of wood during the last voter registration exercise in Afao-Ekiti,” Oluwayose said in the petition, stressing that Afolabi should be held responsible if anything happened to him or any member of his family.
“I have no business with Mr Afolabi, and he is too junior to me to engage him in private matters, hence I am shocked at his brazen threat to kill me,” he added.
Olatunbosun urged the police and the DSS to investigate Afolabi over the threat, explaining that this became imperative in the face of the governor’s aide’s penchant for attacking members of the opposition on behalf of the governor.
The APC spokesman recalled that Afolabi had last year threatened him in the same manner in the presence of the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department (AC, CID), with OC-Legal and others in attendance in the office of the Commissioner of Police, where he had gone to complain on the unlawful arrest of APC members at Igbemo-Ekiti when Afolabi called.
He said he put him on phone speaker immediately he identified himself as Ariyo Afolabi from Afao-Ekiti.
He added that Afolabi had been mentioned in several petitions by APC to the security agencies over attacks on the party secretariat and members of the opposition parties and urged the security agencies, particularly the National Security Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari, to investigate him on his serial threats to the opposition parties’ leaders and members.
He also called on the National Human Rights Commission to check the activities of the governor’s aide to ensure freedom and rights of members of the opposition.
