Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh launched her official website on Wednesday, and it got quite a lot of people talking.

However it seems the actress/singer wasn’t fully prepared for the level of visit the website would receive, as it crashed barely 24 hours later.

This is a result of the website’s bandwidth being exceeded as the traffic of the site went overboard than expected.

The funeral of His Royal Majesty, Orchivirigh Dr Alfred Akawe Torkula, Tor Tiv the fourth, and chairman of the Benue State Council of Chiefs, will hold on February 4th 2016.

The Benue State Government announced this after the state Governor, Samuel Ortom met with the Tiv Area Traditional Council yesterday.

Also announced, was the central planning committee comprising of General Atom Kpera, retired, as chairman, Senator Joseph Kennedy Nyikwagh Waku, as deputy, and Hon. Titus Zam, Special Adviser, Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs as Secretary.

The committee will liaise with members of the family and other major stakeholders to draw up a comprehensive funeral programme for the deceased monarch.

Remember he was scheduled to be buried on the 19th of December but it has been shifted to show as a sign of respect to the late monarch, the tradition demands that burial arrangements of high class chief like this should not rushed.

The threat of MouthAction is taking an alarming dimension. Findings have revealed that youth and young couples indulge in this sordid act. Giving MouthAction to a man (Mouth Action) has been proven to be risky. The dreaded HIV aides could be transmitted through MouthAction.

Scientists believe it could cause cervical cancer, and the pervasive but often silent Human Papillonia Virus (HPV) has been finding its way into women’s mouth.

ENCOMIUM Weekly spoke with some doctors who were against the practice of MouthAction as it is a means of contacting deadly diseases. Although the HPV itself is not actually cancerous, it can only affect cells causing abnormal tissue growth in the mouth, the lips, the tongue, inside of the cheeks and the throat.

According to experts, detecting the disease in its early stage can increase survival chances by 90 percent. Knowing how to spot the symptoms, the virus occurs more in the genital area, if not taken care of can cause cervical cancer.

The HPV is very prevalent in Nigeria and instances of cancer are rising. The important thing is that HPV does not lead to HIV as they are two different viruses that affect different parts of the body.

According to a study published by Nigerian Medical Journal in 2015, there is a strong need to raise awareness about the dangers of HPV and the vaccinations that can prevent it. If Nigerians are ignoring the most common type of cancer created by HPV, then mouth cancer is going to be even deadlier.

In a chat with Dr Iyke, who agreed that the HPV virus exists, he advised against the practice of MouthAction. It is not medically healthy. HPV is mostly gotten amongst sexually active people. When the virus is gotten, it has a time line, especially for women depending on the person’s age. As a woman, to confirm if the virus is there and mostly found in the genital area, the person will have to undergo a screening called Papanicolar Screen (PAPScreen). If the virus is fully grown and the oraficial structures have been damaged, it shows through Ebora cancer.

The virus is not only gotten through MouthAction but through anal and genital sex. The Human Papilloma Virus affects the skin exposed to moisture, such as the mouth, rectum, cervix and throat.

HOW MouthAction CAN KILL

One thing PHV shares with HIV is that the carrier usually has no idea he has the virus. The carrier develops the virus and passes it during the exchange of bodily fluids with someone else. The recipient is the one who runs the risk of contracting whatever disease the virus creates.

Which means, the person giving MouthAction is at risk of getting the HPV virus from the person she is pleasuring and then the virus could trigger cancerous cell growth in the recipient.

However, the rise in the number of throat and mouth cancer due to MouthAction cannot be ignored as the virus is hard to detect and can move quickly once it is passed to someone.

Nigerians have to put more emphasis on being vaccinated against HPV and diminishing the possibilities of contacting any kind of disease from MouthAction. HPV virus can be reduced through protection during MouthAction which is now preferred among couples.

The rise of the virus in Nigeria can be frustrating to hear. MouthAction is no longer a safe alternative to intercourse, except with proper precaution.

Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar has shed a bit of light on the silent war going on in Nollywood. According to Halima, not every one of them congratulates each other, when another breaks a record. She says, she is however not one, because she congratulates all, when a record is achieved.

She thanked those who have congratulated her in the past, and says she cares less about others who ignores her success, but then, they are the ones she now intends to watch out for, because they are not her true friends. Here’s what she said to Punch;

I am in an industry where people find it hard to congratulate you when there is good news. I often celebrate others and I am aware that not everyone can be like me.

Most of my colleagues do not congratulate themselves whenever a feat has been achieved. I do not wait for people’s commendation because it would not fetch me money. I appreciate those who do and I do not care about the rest who don’t. Some of my colleagues are capable of blocking every avenue of opportunity that comes my way. I pay attention to those who do not clap when I win because they are the ones I must avoid. These same people will invite you to their movie set and act as though they are your true friends.

Nigerian music producer, Don Jazzy has reacted to a message that has gone viral online, which says that Mavin records is about to unveil new acts in 2016 and interested artistes should pay a sum of 45,000 naira into a bank account.

The message was sent using a parody account of popular blogger, Linda Ikeji.

Reacting to the viral message, Don Jazzy took to Instagram saying, ‘SCAM ALERT. That’s a fake Linda and Mavin is not aware of this too. Guys pls be careful. Thanks and GOD watch over us’.
