well I got it from "sarkin zaria" so I guess you add the n for grammatical reasons?

exactly, adding the letter "N" at the end of verbs and nouns serves as an article of sorts.(though it can contextual)


sarki zaria- king zaria,
sarkin zaria- king of zaria


mata(wife) na.- my wife

matan shi- his wife.

and so on and so forth.

sarkin- king

gaskiya- honestly/ truth

in Igbo we have a word called "kwarangida" which I guess we borrowed from hausa. we use it to mean a marriage which has not been carried out properly (like no bride-price, no meetings of both families, happens somewhere in Lagos/Abuja/America blah blah)

actually during the election there were a lot of Hausa songs concerning Buhari, APC, Jega and so on that I found quite catchy lol

while "maigida" wic literally means "owner of the house" means husband.



and the "sarkin" is spelt "sarki"
