Okay gurus, here we go.

My PC (hp Elitebook 8440p) does Not boot. After the boot animation, It says:

'Your PC needs to be repaired.
Boot configuration data is missing or corrupted. '

Then It displays some error code below it . It also says I should fix this problem by inserting my installation disc or media(ie the W8 disc since I am using W8).

So on trying to fix this problem, I inserted my windows 8.0 installation disc and restarted the PC. On restart, I entered boot options and on boot options I could find only

1. Notebook hard drive
2. Notebook ethernet

No USB or CD rom.
So I set out to go to BIOS settings to includewindows installationdisc or even USB among the boot optiins but lo and behold, it was asking for bios password and I didn't remember puttinga password for my bios and the first person to use the PC before me is dead :-(
So I don'treally knowwhat to do right now. I am trapped and i'mstanding on a time bomb now because my final year project work i'd inside the harddrive of the PC and I my defence is next week friday.

Please gurus help me. I would liketo have my system back on and in operation.

Well like someone said you can use your internal HDD as external to copy your project and if you have a spare system or that of a friend, you can put your HDD in it and do the formating their before you now return it to your system.

Your HDD is still get enough space. Abi you wan sell the missing space ?

Good morning gurus in the house,
Please,of recent i noticed something on my system,it actually started after i upgraded the system to window 10.

The used hard disk is around 317GB out of the available 677GB,but it started to reduce,it actually started or lets say i noticed about a month ago,and it as now reduced to 294GB without me deleting anything. I actually told someone about it and he said i should use Disk Defragmental on windows and i did,it returned back back to 317GB before it now start reducing again.I tried to use the Disk Defragmental again but it dosn't have any effect.Please i need help.

Yeah,i did put on the system and it restored me back to my window 7 without any data lose,i guess it would have been very succesful had the system not go off.

Please is it only through the internet that i can upgrade to windows 10? Cant i get the software in a disk like othrt once i use to buy?

While i was upgrading my Window 7 to Windows 10,my system battery which is low already,went off. It actually went off while my files are been copied after which drivers will be installed and then other configuration settings will be done. Is there any implication for this or it will start where it stopped.

Please help me,whenever i try to play an .flv file with my VLC,it plays some seconds and stops,i try forwarding but the problem persist.It plays for like 10seconds and stops(without exiting the VLC). Please help me.
