Penguin2: Should it rather than be the survival of the fittest where the strongest should always win and those who are not as strong can continue to grumble?
If you support that notion, then it would also be valid to argue that the CPC bloc, since they are in power, can scheme to retain power even in the north and not bother about zoning it to the south at all. There's nothing like bloc sharing formular here, those who came in from ANPP and APGA knew exactly what they are getting into. Democracy is a game of numbers, and that is the one sole thing that our brothers from the other end of the south do not understand. No one will ever leave the stage for you to get what you want, you have to politically convince them to support you with their numbers and so, if ANPP and APGA bloc wants something more than what they have gotten before, they should form an alliance. In the same way, if our brothers from the other end of the south wants something more, they should learn to form an alliance and not hate on others and expect that those they are hating on should leave the stage for them. Tinubu knew he was going to contest for president, he formed an alliance with the north and now it's paying off. They should do the same and be more forward thinking than to think they can get it by playing the victim card. |

Aregbesola worked against his party in 2018, he supported Adeoti then, yet Tinubu never took that against him and still allowed him run on his own ministerial slot, yet Aregbe backstabbed him. It would have been understood as a mere campaigns if he didn't attack Tinubu to the extent of saying He's peeing on his body.
I'm sure Aregbesola has chew more than he can bite this time around and Tinubu can never trust him again. |

No region as gotten the presidential sit by other regions stepping down for them or deciding to allow only them. Politics is all about forming alliances and not hating on others or demanding that others should step down for you. If only our Igbo brothers can learn this and start forming alliance instead of hating on others. |

What will Aregbe do now. After all his shouting. He thought he was someone outside Tinubu, he has forgotten that he's only lucky because Tinubu isn't a dictator, he just help you get the position and he will leave you to lead by your discretion, it's usually up to you to decide how people will perceive you after leaving the office.
That's why I laugh when people blame Tinubu for Ambode's misfortune, when in the real sense it was Ambode's actions to party men that killed him. |

zoedew: I have been to the College of Medicine again and again. I stand by my statement on the matter. All the other things you mentioned are the things he swore to do as an elected Governor. He was not doing the citizenry a favour! I maintain that he was a terribly corrupt fellow. Our works follow us after we pass and no mausoleum, prayers or restraint from speaking to the life he lived can rectify that. Indeed! And that's the height of it for me. Peace!!! |

Loewe: I respect your point and I am glad you respect mine.
To me, eternity is what matters most, not frivolous spending cos that won't stop moth and maggots from eating the carcass. Let's all learn to do right and fear God while we are alive.
Shalom! Thanks so much sir, sincerely ETERNITY SHOULD BE THE GOAL WHILE WE ARE ALIVE, because it's judgement after death and no amount of billions spent for the living or amount of millions saved from a "to be" extravagant burial would save someone who has died. Peace!!! |
Politics › Re: Adebayo Christopher Alao-Akala's Burial Pictures & Videos by IamNat: 12:02am On Feb 19, 2022 |
Loewe: You have a right to your opinion, I have a right to mine as well. We see things from different perspectives. Mentioning Constituted Authority isn't an insult to him as they were both ex-governors in Oyo state, that's the common basis for my comparison.
To me, a befitting burial isn't necessarily tantamount to building an entire house furnished with A/C for a carcass that will be devoured by maggots and insects. Take it or leave it. You made your comparison with the Constituted authority sound as if they are the same personality-wise but I'm glad you have made your clarification. The reason why I decided to quote you was because you said "Even in their deaths they are wasteful!" and I felt that you are misjudging the situation as this isn't wasteful but well deserved. Finally I'm glad you made it clear it's just your opinion. |

Loewe: Everyone is a blessing to someone, so that's not a big deal.
According to you now, those who were built in their compounds or private cemeteries are not resting in peace?
Resting place for dead carcass or for the soul? You definitely do not know that once the spirit leaves the body, the entire body is useless. What his family should be concerned about is whether he made heaven... To me o, this is all a waste... Nothing befitting about burying someone with multi-millions that can be spent on the living. Thank God you said to you sir. I take that as your opinion. But I know none of our Pastors will die and we'll just bury them anyhow so that we won't waste money. It's not just because we are burying them, it's a show of appreciation for what they have done while alive, we saw how TB Joshua was buried and we saw how Daddy Adeboye's son was buried. NO SINGLE MAN CAN SOLVE ALL OF HUMANITY'S PROBLEMS, WE JUST DO THE LITTLE WE CAN AND LEAVE. If his family decides not to give him a befitting burial, that money won't solve human's problems that he ensured he paid great attention to while alive. |

zoedew: Well taken. However, corruption marred its take-off. Have you been to the college of medicine to see its physical structures? Most are poorly constructed and offer no commensurate value for money allegedly spent on them. It irritates me to see the shoddy work done. In the same manner most if not all the roads Akala built were dilapidated in months. Truth is mediocrity and corruption were his first and first names! Shioooorrr!!! Kai, must you bad mouth people? Have you even been to the college of health that you called college of "medicine"? That's the same structure that is been used till today since about 16 years now since it has been constructed. And how many of the roads he built have you ply? This is a man among other things that *Created Ajilete and Oke Ogun FM stations. *Put in place College of Agric in Igbo-Ora. *Purchased hundreds of Armoured Personnel Carriers to tackle security. *Increased IGR from N300m to N1bn within 8 months in office without putting the masses in unnecessary danger. *Built a new House of Assembly complex which today is still in use. *Equipped the state fire services to a suitable taste. I lived in Oyo State during Akala's regime and what was felt then is no different from what we are feeling with GSM's regime. |

Is he now carrying it to wherever he's going? I shake my head for you, whether you steal or not, you will die eventually. But this man is not one of your "Rubbish Leaders" and to think you said he's worse shows how truely ignorant you are. diplomat058: Hmm. I don't get to understand the rationale behind burial extravagance. For me, it is beyond preposterous. Not to judge, but all these folks lived their time and the bad effects of their existence probably outweigh the good side in terms of impact. Bros, it's only when you don't live a life of positive impact that you don't deserve an extravagant burial. This man deserves even more and to think you said "all these folks lived their time and the bad effects of their existence probably outweigh the good side in terms of impact" is an indication that you don't know an inch about who this man is, please make your research, not all politicians are like that. |

Loewe: Imagine a corpse that will be eaten by worms and insects being buried in a well designed bungalow whereas millions of living people are homeless... Similar burial was done for Mr. Constituted Authority, in that same Oyo state.
Their compound isn't good enough to bury their dead bodies, it has to be an air-conditioned house. Even in their deaths they are wasteful! Mentioning the Constituted authority on this thread is an insult on the personality of HE Adebayo Alao Akala. Akala in his death deserves this and even more. |

Politicians should learn to live and serve the people!
Many of these politicians will not even eat at the burial for the fear of being poisoned! So what's the need of all these ill gotten wealth Akala lived his life to serve not only his own people but his town and his state. He's a legend, he deserves been buried in such manner, it's not really for him but it's a celebration of a life well spent. |
Politics › Re: Adebayo Christopher Alao-Akala's Burial Pictures & Videos by IamNat: 10:51pm On Feb 18, 2022 |
Loewe: Honouring the dead isn't a crime, but you don't give what the living are supposed to have to a corpse.
God would have blessed his family more if they had donated the home to an orphanage and buried Akala in the compound at one of his numerous mansions.
It's all a waste at the end of the day... That's all I am saying. There's no way that money doesn't trace back to the commonwealth of the people of Oyo state. Akala was a blessing to Ogbomoso my home town, he's a blessing to Oyo State and even after death, he deserves such a great celebration, his philanthropic works while he's alive goes way above all this that you see and should the children or the family decide not to give him such a befitting burial, thousands of other people who felt his impact while he's alive would arise to do it. His family has donated so much to orphanages and they are still doing so but they are so blessed that doing that doesn't affect them not to give their patriarch a befitting resting place. |
