Mizik1: .. This was wat i was telling one guy that said the RN7 would be better than x5 when it comes to pubg... In tdm or just like u said when someone is close frame drops seriously and it doesn't go up again... I play smooth extreme ... device doesn't really heat up...but the frame drop is much I'm using the 4gb variant! I think you are right, though not really. The SD 660 ranks above the p60 and p70 in every mobile processor ranking based on benchmarks and real life performance. I admit that the performance of the p60 is very close the SD 660 and for the p70, it is better so effiency of cpu should be slightly noticeable, but the SD 660 gives better graphics and has more support. Then reviews online of the SD 660 shows that pubg should play smoothly using medium graphic setting, except you are running highest graphic setting. I also feel using the game speed booster should further assist in that. The SD 660 trumps the p60 and p70 on every review. This issue with your redmi note 7 baffles me. The performance should be better |

Born2smile: Traffic reading is not dependent on the gps. You only need an internet connection for that. If all your Google play apps, system apps and device firmware are up to date, you have not tinkered with your device network settings and you test when you are outdoors in an open place, you should get a successful message.
If not, it means somebody's got a bug to fix. Google apps have not been updated though. I get though. |

questechie: Just came across an advert for Gionee M7 Lite, and on a little search, found it was very recently released by Gionee Nigeria.
Though, I searched on GSMArena, couldn't find any information on it.
Some few Nigeria blogs I found have no information on the particular MTK chipset, only generalized as MTK.
Any help It is SD 435 abi 423. I cannot remember. But it clocks at 1.25 |

Born2smile: Well......... I would really appreciate seeing your successful screenshot. While you are preferably out doors with a clear sky,
type *#*#6484#*#* on your dial pad, Scroll down and tap on gps to start the test. Wait for about a minute or two for the test to complete, Take a screenshot and let's see. If possible, you can crop the top half of the screenshot.
Anything short of a successful screenshot will not hold water in court Hehe. Well I got the error message after a minute plus. Then I tried using the map and everything seemed good and valid inclusive of its direction and length of travel, even traffic reading. Then, I am a noob in this..so what do I know? If you have time, maybe you could explain. Hehe e no too late to learn |

Born2smile: Great, could you post a screenshot of the results? I want to see what it shows when it is successful. Thanks. Honestly I do not know how to use the GPS stuff since I never use it. By successful, I mean I didn't get the error message i saw in your screenshot and my apps are all updated as I follow everything squarely. With this in mind, I think it is a fair conclusion to say it should be working perfectly |

Born2smile: So I noticed some days back that gps was not working as expected in my rn7. It takes ages, if at all, to zero in on my position. Google maps was practically unusable. Driving mode was not possible because gps signal was not functioning or was very poor (always saying gps signal lost). Gps test using *#*#6484#*#* is never successful.
I spent a couple of days trying to figure out the problem. Came across this thread on mi forum
https://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=5567417&extra=page%3D1&page=1&mobile=2
Very weird solution if you ask me.
And this thread on xda
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-7/help/gps-issue-t3902512/page1
After doing some further digging in the above threads and other sources, I was able to improve it a little by changing a setting I had changed before. Apparently, if you have used *#*#4636#*#* to change the network setting of your second sim to GSM only, maybe to save some battery life, this affects the gps performance.
Also, there have been some System apps updates pushed by xiaomi which I ignored and refused to install. If these were meant to fix some of these issues, I missed the opportunity to install them. Now when I go to the system apps updater to check for these updates again, they are not there.
Currently, my gps performance has improved but it is nowhere near the efficiency I got in my r5plus. I will continue to probe for a solution and avoid any "surgical" solutions such as factory reset or flashing a new rom.
Any suggestions from you guys will be appreciated. Also, if you are using RN7, kindly test your gps on Google maps or using *#*#6484#*#* to be sure everything is working as expected.
My advice: (1)if you are using rn7 and your gps signal is working efficiently especially in Google maps, don't change network settings in your sim using *#*#4636#*#* as this might break something else (2) keep your OS/MIUI and system apps up to date. The updates do actually fix bugs, some of which you may not have come in contact with yet. I just checked using the dial code and it is working perfectly |

lilbest4: how is Redmi note 7 Pro better than A70? Redmi note 7 pro have one of the best mid-range camera. A true 48mp Sony camera, not to talk of when it is used with Gcam. The A70 camera does not even come halfway to be honest. The camera review are not nice. The problem with the optical fingerprint of the Samsung a70 even after 2 updates. Tweaking potential of the redmi note 7 pro Longer battery Faster update Infared Port Cheaper parts Better GPS tracking Better build Better screen protection Cheaper Etc. The Samsung a70 have a better display, bigger screen display, faster fast charge, etc. For the others I do not include, I think they should be negligible |

ErnyyBobo: I had same problems of Gmail pushing new mail to my notification.. please check your Gmail and confirm if you have up to four labels there??
Like primary, update, forum, social, promotions??
Until I applied some settings before I now get notifications every time.
Open your Gmail app goto settings. Click on your Gmail account you will see inbox category.. open it then untick labels you see there like Social, promotion, update and the rest.
It means your mails will now come into one inbox unlike before.. and you will get notifications immediately..
Please try this and give feedback Let me check this out and get back to you. Ernnybobo Thank you. It worked |

As for GCam, I doubt if there is a GCam port for your device.
Also do you know if your OEM allows enabling of Camera2api?

I don't know about others but I do not receive notifications at all only on WhatsApp, then seldomly on Facebook. My battery saver is usually on as I am not in a power friendly environment. Could that be the reason or there is another way to do this manually? Clarification will be nice |
