DigitalMallam: Many thanks. This sound encouraging. Of course not Zenith. Kindly share the rate or % charge for transfer & withdrawal. I was charged 135$ for transferring 13k$, and 3.5$ for withdrawing 7k$. Banks have different charges for cash deposit or inflow into your domiciliary account when you want to withdraw or transfer. |

DigitalMallam: Half of my yearly income comes in then month if Jan. Like someone earlier hinted, all the alternative investment options mentioned so far on this forum ain't worth the stress. I've dumped my earnings in mmf. Capital preservation guaranteed. My major tb matures in Sept. And if by then tb still haven't pick up, I'll still move them to mmf. Sometimes in Dec. I wanted to diversify in dollars ($) savings and investment, one of my colleague I approached to sign my form narrated a rather bizarre experience. He told me he opened a domiciliary account and deposited $500 and after two yrs, he decided to check the bal, lo and behold the money has reduced to $350 in the name of act mtc and commission. ( he quickly withdrrew the bal. to be kept at home. He signed the form though but advised me against keeping my fund in Dom acct. Those that operate $ bond should please advice me or share their experience. Since you did not mention the name of the bank, I am sure it is not Zenith Bank Plc. I once left over 20k$ for 2 years plus in my domiciliary account in Zenith Bank and nothing happened to it; 1 cent was not deducted. Except if they charged either my current or saving account to maintain the domiciliary account because when I printed my domiciliary statement of account, they charged my savings account. I was only charged when I transferred and withdrew. |

9jatriot: I de tell you. As a typical Nigerian who always has someone or something to blame beyond himself, my own scape goat is our educational system. Many of us were brought up to become employees in future, only certain families grown their off springs to become investors or business men in future. Even some people who run successful businesses do not mentor their kids to follow their path, instead they train them to follow the least path of resistance to become employees so that it gets to a stage where people have money in their hands and suddenly start opening Nairaland threads on what business they can do if they have 5 million for example. Very true. |

ojesymsym: That's the one with the 14.5% rate right? I think you will be getting around 700k every 6 months. The experts will either confirm or refute it, but my little understanding of bonds seems to believe this is the case. 70k or 700k? |

This FBN quest guys are really confusing.
Just 2 weeks ago, their staff told me I didn't need a domicillary account to run the eurobond.
On getting to the bank today, after wasting hours, he now told me I need to make the transfer from my domicillary account into their beneficiary accounts.
Please is that how you got yours? You need a dom account to transfer your money to their offshore account. |

For a start, look out for a bit defensive dividend paying stocks with good dvd yield and invest until you are proficient enough to dare the "undarable". All you need is to add knowledge and wise counsel and you are good to go. Happy investing. Thank you. |

I presume this is a sloth because of how slow it is. I didn't even know we have it in Nigeria. It a very firm grip with the limbs and the teeth. Treat it carefully if you come across it because it bites hard (I didn't know if it's venomous) No, you are wrong. It is a Potto. |

emmanuelewumi: You paid a premium of N2 million, if you are a very busy person who does not have the luxury of time and you know that the time and energy spent monitoring your building project, you can miss deals or businesses that will fetch you N5 million and above. The best bet is to pay the premium and face your core area of specialisation that will fetch you more than what you are planning to save. Very true. Even my Mrs is feeling bad for tagging him a bad friend. She will be calling him next month to get her a piece of land. Thank you, elder. You just saved an almost dead friendship. |

emmanuelewumi: What are friends for? Your friend saved you from stress and also saved your time. Paying a premium of N2million is not too much, for the sake of your friendship. I am sure while your friend assisted you with the building of your house, the project provided a source of income to your friend and his family. You are very right sir. To be honest with you, I have never looked at it from that angle. I paid too much attention to side talks. My friend deserves commendation. |
