If they go ahead and implement this obnoxious electricity tariff hike tomorrow, Buhari-led government will be the most insensitive government in the history of Nigeria. |

speak2lift: Lets learn from you bro.
What Financial institution are you using or did you use?
How exactly did you lose the 1k? - did the offer price go below the bid price or vice versa? Did you purchase your USD above market rate? ect It will be nice if you can throw more light on this so we can all learn.
My senior colleagues who have also been in the Eurobond game far longer than I have, never had this complaint but am open minded and will be really interested in knowing if there is any danger lurking?
Edited: Did you liquidate or attempt to liquidate your investment before the required holding period of 6months(Stanbic requires this) United Capital doesn't - theirs is 90 days minimum holding period or so?
Anyways let me wait for your answer sha I got my statement almost 6 months of venturing into Eurobond and I saw that my capital was less of over 1k$ as at that time. I have applied for liquidation. I will write about it when I get it within one month as stated in their letter to me instead of 72hrs. Leaving the money with them will incur more losses. I have consulted one or two Gurus outside Nairaland and I think the best thing is to liquidate the investment. Would I get it within one month? I am not 100% sure. My lawyer is on standby though. |

Akin3891: Yea , you analyzed it earlier. Can you suggest any dollar investments that is 100% capital save. A guy here said he lost about 1k dollars on his euro bond Investment. Which dollar investments has 100% capital guaranteed? I personally don't think that it's a great ideal to convert one funds to dollars *as at now*, then wait for the spike. People that bought dollars at 360 made the kill already, but buying at #404 might not be a good ideal I am the one. There is a lot going on that we don't know yet. I can't even get the money until a month's time, something that used to take 72hrs. Beware of Eurobond! |

Poanan: People doing eurobonds should be careful. The yield for Eurobond is going up means more risk. Now,foreign investors are pulling money away where will they get foreign currency to pay the bond holders. Remember, the proceeds from new issue is what is used to bonds holders at maturity. My Eurobond capital is now at -9.8% |
Investment › Re: Mutual Funds by IamR: 11:39am On Mar 23, 2020 |
needful: Euro bond is not a reliable investment right now considering the economic meltdown. Go for naira bond which is way easier to repay by the federal government. Worst case scenario, they will print naira and pay but as for Eurobond, just know that naija no dey print dollar oooo. My 2cent advice. Now at -9.8% of my capital in Eurobond. |

ositadima1: You are correct. But a 6% increase shouldn't wipe out 2 years profit. Of course, it can not. This looks like the first phase of Naira devaluation. |

ositadima1: But it is #360 on CBN website, cbn.gov.ng. CBN sell it at #360 to BDCs, and BDCs add a few naira to sell to the public at around #365 just like before.
Are BDCs no longer regulated or am I missing something? Maybe this will help.

odimbannamdi: So this is the post:
There are secret plans by the Lagos State Govt to provide all registered Okada Riders with LASRAA and NURTW Identification Card with new Mini Buses as a way to Curb the menace of unemployment.
The mini buses will be given to riders who can proof they can drive and possess a valid driver license.
For those interested, visit room 305, block F at the Lagos State Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja to get a Free Registration Form. When you get there, ask of Mrs. Omobolanle.
If possible, get a letter of introduction from your local govt chairman, local chief or oba or any elected leader or politician.
The registration process closes February 14th 2020.
Kindly note that there are over 10,000 buses to be given. This information isn't public so you can share widely to your family, friends and relations who are affected by the Okada ban.
Copied LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT MINISTRY OF TRANSPORTATION FREE BUS DISTRIBUTION: LASG WARNS RESIDENTS TO BE WARY OF FRAUDSTERS Lagos State Government has warned members of the public to disregard the fake news trending on Social Media that the State Government was planning to distribute free Mini buses to Okada riders to ameliorate their suffering, describing it as baseless, unconfirmed and a fraudulent attempt by unscrupulous elements to swindle unsuspected innocent members of the public. Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Frederic Oladeinde who gave the warning, while reacting to the news making the rounds on social media platform that ‘’Lagos State Government was planning secretly to provide all registered Okada Riders with LASRAA and NURTW Identification with new Mini buses as a way to curb the menace of unemployment’’ warned the public to be wary of people of dubious characters. The Commissioner explained that Block F, Room 305 where interested people were directed to visit in the Secretariat for free registration did not exist while the name Mrs. Omobolanle named as the Officer in charge of the registration was fictitious and non-existent. “I therefore urge the residents to disregard this trending report on social media platforms that secret plans are underway to provide all registered Okada Riders that have LASRRA and NURTW Identification Cards with new mini buses as a way to curb the menace of unemployment. It is a lie, it is unconfirmed and a deceitful attempt to mislead innocent members of the public’’ Oladeinde warned. The State Government hereby disassociates itself from this story and warned Lagosians to avoid being duped by unscrupulous elements that have the intention to take undue advantage of innocent well meaning individuals in the society.
