Amid the contention over the ownership of the land, the Federal government accused the Lagos State Government of delaying the enforcement of the February 10, 2012, judgment in suit no. SC/112/2002. The Lagos State Government, on Friday, announced its return to the Supreme Court despite the court's initial ruling on the occupation of Magodo Estate. The announcement was made by the state’s information commissioner, Gbenga Omotoso. Amid the contention over the ownership of the land, the Federal government accused the Lagos State Government of delaying the enforcement of the February 10, 2012, judgment in suit no. SC/112/2002. Meanwhile, the South-West Governors had condemned the Federal Government after a Chief Superintendent of Police told Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu that officers deployed to Magodo would not leave. The superintendent had openly told the governor that he and his colleagues were at the estate on the orders of the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba; as well as the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami. This had attracted backlash for the AGF who stated that his office “belongs to the Executive arm of the Government, while the Supreme Court belongs to the Judiciary.” Malami criticised their “unjustifiable insinuation of impunity” over the execution of a judgment of the Supreme Court. He recalled that the verdict was delivered in 2012, long before the start of the Buhari administration. “The judgment was a reaffirmation of the judgments of the Court of Appeal and High Court delivered on 31st December 1993.” The AGF advised the governors to “unravel” what’s preventing the Lagos government from enforcing the order “despite attempts from 2012- 2015 and so-called settlement initiative started in 2016.” But on Friday, the Lagos State government returned to court, Omotosho noted. He said following Sanwo-Olu’s intervention, Lagos officials and representatives of the Shangisha Landlords Association (the judgment creditors) held a series of meetings. “At the said meetings two issues arose: There was a serious division among the judgment creditors as to who controlled or had the right to represent the Association; and the demand by the judgment creditors that a single global Certificate of Occupancy should be issued in the name of the Association as opposed to the position of the State Government that each of the 549 members of the Association would be given allotment letters individually. “Given the sharp divide between the two factions of the judgment creditors on who has authority to represent the Association and the disagreement regarding whom the Certificate of Occupancy should be issued (collectively or individually), the State Government has approached the Supreme Court to seek further directives and clarifications on both issues.” Omotoso also confirmed that Judgment Creditors have been served with the application. The statement reiterated the Lagos government commitment to comply with the Supreme Court judgment “once these two issues are resolved.” http://saharareporters.com/2022/02/18/lagos-state-drags-nigerian-government-supreme-court-over-magodo-estate-crisis laLasticlala, mynd44

"The only authentic identity for the African is the tribe…I am Nigerian because a white man created Nigeria and gave me that identity. I am black because the white man constructed black to be as different as possible from his white. But I was Igbo before the white man came. "~ Chimamanda Adichie They have come a long way. They have come a long way as a tribe and a race. It was not meant to be a smooth one,but inspite that, they kept growing and blooming into the most successful and influential tribe in African and beyond. A tribe of barely over 40 millions, occupying virtually every nook and cranny of the globe, doing great for themselves, both at home and in their host community. Millions are scattered across the globe as Nigeria’s greatest and biggest exports to the world. From the Americas to Europe, from Asia to Australia, there is no continent of the world where you will not find an Igbo man or woman striving to eke out a living for themselves. the Igbos are naturally endowed with the spirit of independence, industry, dedication, and ambition to make their environment and the world a better place. They dorminate every areas of life, from education and literature ,to the music and movie industries,to sports , local and international politics etc. With a highly sacred and respected culture and traditions, that have brought them this far, both at the local and international scene of life. And also, with a great cuisine to keep them healthy and focused as they go about their daily endeavours. As a Igbo man or woman, you have to be proud of your root. You have a rich history and culture that will be told in thousands of generations to come. Be unapologetically proud of your root.

Idioms or idiomatic expressions are group of words whose individual meanings are quite different from the meaning as a group or as an expression or sentence. In other words, such expressions have special meanings, rather than literal meanings, and the only way readers may know them is by learning them. I have made a compilation of some, and will love if you can also add to the list ,so we can all learn . - Castles in the air ; A desire ,idea, plans, project that's unlikely to ever be realized . E.g ; aren't we building castles in the air by thinking corruption can be eradicated from in this country ? - Cupboard love ; Insincere love pretended in the hope of gaining something useful in exchange or return. E.g; Isaac advances to that wealthy lady is nothing but a cupboard love. - Give one a cold shoulder ; A deliberate act of ignoring someone. To snub someone. E.g ; Amaka, why are you giving me cold a shoulder ? Is it because of the misunderstanding we had last week ? - Bury the hatchet ; To make up or settle a quarrel. E.g ; let's bury the hatchet and become friends again - No love lost ; Mutual dislike or animosity. E.g ; there's no love lost between Nicolette and I. - At the eleventh hour ; A point in time which is nearly too late ; the last minute. E.g; she called off the wedding at the eleventh hour. - cast pearls before swine ; is to give or offer something valuable to someone who does not understand its value. E.g ; decorating chief okafor with expensive jewelrys before he was buried is simply casting a pearls before swine. - Be in the blues; To be depressed or sad. E g ; The economic situation of the country have kept me in the blues. - leave much to be desired ; Disappointing. Unsatisfactory or not good enough. E.g ; Her smoking attitude of late have left much to be desired. - A red letter day ; A very important day. a day that is pleasantly noteworthy or memorable. E.g ; December 25 remains a red letter day to most Christians around the world. -pulling ones leg ; to trick or lie to someone in a playful way. A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has visited Sokoto State to commiserate with the family of the late Magajin Garin of Sokoto (Head of Sokoto Caliphate Kingmakers), Alhaji Hassan Danbaba. Accompanied by some white cap chiefs from Lagos on Monday, Tinubu described the late Danbaba as a man who devoted most of his life to the development of the Sokoto Caliphate and contributed immensely to the propagation of Islam in Nigeria. The APC leader was received in Sokoto by the former governor of the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, who led the delegation to the family house of the late Hassan where they offered prayers for the bereaved. Speaking at the residence of the deceased, Tinubu expressed deep sadness at his passing, however, saying: “We can’t question Allah”. “He gives and takes. We pray that Almighty Allah recognises the many good deeds of Magajin Garin for Sokoto Caliphate, Nigeria and humanity and grant him Aljanna Firdaus,” he said. At Sultan Abubakar’s Palace, Tinubu presented the royal father with a condolence letter in which he spoke about his personal relationship with the late Magajin Garin, acknowledged his kind contributions to the caliphate and the country and prayed Allah to grant him eternal rest. “Losing Magajin Garin at such a tender age can be painful indeed. It is even more hurtful that this passing came barely a year after we lost his mother, Hajiya A’ishatu, the eldest daughter of the late Premier of Northern Nigeria, Sir Ahmadu Bello. I understand your pain and I share in it. “Magajin Garin was a fine gentleman and a devout Muslim who related well with all those who encountered him. “He contributed immensely to the development of not only the Sokoto Caliphate but also in the entire country. He also played a lead role in the propagation of Islam in Nigeria and beyond. “Your Highness, I would also like, through you, to extend by commiseration to Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the immediate family of the deceased and indeed to the entire Saudana Family. My prayer is that Allah Subuhanan Watahala comforts his family and all those he left behind. May He also grant his soul Aljanna Firdaus. Amin,” the statement read in part. The late Magajin Garin was the grandson of the late Premier of the Northern Region, Sir Ahmadu Bello. https://www.channelstv.com/2022/02/15/magajin-garins-death-tinubu-visits-sokoto-condoles-with-sultan-and-family/ laLasticlala, seun
