You don't need to hit on someone's tribe or religion to prove a point.

Gay and Lesbianism is rampant and mostly legalized in western countries where majority are Christians doesn't make it a Christian value. Same way Boko Haram and Al Qaeda doesn't represent Muslims as terrorists though more of such organizations can be found in Muslim countries and Muslim dominated areas.

Keep your conversions neat. It shows maturity and faith. Mostly on religious issues.

Thanks.
Fixed!

Folks talking about how Allah kept them in "Bondage" are either ignorant, mischievous or both.

The law that banned them all these while had nothing to do with Islam but everything to do with the local and traditional laws of the kingdom

The law is man made.

If it were ordained by Allah and admonished in the Holy Qur'an, no king or sheik can call for its removal.

Because it is a common law, women groups and civil organizations can protest and push for their "Rights". Ask yourself, why have these same group not asked for a female Imam or sheik?.

Turkey, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Libya and Egypt are all Islamic countries with females driving cars.

I am a Christian but I hate misrepresentation of facts.

Thanks.
Christian wey sabi Islam pass Muslims

You can't be more Muslim than the sheikh!

Exactly what women hate will undying passion. They loathe the man's love for his mum and definitely abhor their mother in law even when she has forgivable flaws the woman herself is twice guilty of.

Some even tagg her "old witch" and pray in MFM church for her to die when it's very clear she isn't a witch rather a human being with flaws like everyone.

The amazing thing is that this same women love their own mothers regardless of their flaws and expect their own sons to love them unconditionally when they marry and have kids.
You hate your mother Inlaw but love your own mother to pieces...... Continue.

What goes around comes around. If you hate your mother Inlaw your daughter inlaw will hate you too no matter how nice you try to be...... It's called Karma

Some women just won't understand this fact until they get old

First of all Islamic law does not support oppression of women, neither does it make allow people to oppress others, humans will always be humans so when a Muslim or a group of Muslims does something bad Islam should not be blamed. The western countries don't care about anyone but themselves Saudi Arabia is beneficial to them at the moment so they support it.
You are a liberal Muslim I guess. Alot of your brothers don't hold thesame opinion.

Anyway we all want the best for people wherever they live: stability, peace, prosperity, and right/freedom of expression within the confines of their law.

I still think Saudi should keep it's present system if that is what works there. America toppled sadam Hussein. Little did they know that his system of government was the best that could keep peace in the region. A militant population need a military dictator. Soon after his death all manner of Armed groups arose in the Middle East notable among them ISIS.

Kudos to Saudi. monarchy+Islamic rule is bae!

The fact that their Ministry of Foreign Affairs is handling this shows they just want to be seen as progressive by the outside world and not that they're really committed to ending discrimination against women.
Adult women still need permission from a male guardian to travel, marry, go to the hospital, rent an apartment, work and to even leave prison after serving a sentence. Now imagine she is not in good terms with that guardian. Imagine an irresponsible male guardian decides to demand money or sex from her before giving permission for very basic things. Or even decides to punish her by withholding his permission for going to the hospital when she's sick.
Unfortunately, Western countries will prefer to shout about North Korea when almost half of the population of another country live in everyday oppression.
Finally they entered the 20th century!

Their primitive culture and Islamic overdo it not a problem to the world and sure doesn't pose an equal threat like Noko.

Their country their women.... They have used religion to enslave their people. If the people cannot open their eyes and mouth to demand freedom then they must be enjoying it.

If western countries ask them to abolish Islamic rule and embrace freedom people will start shouting upandan. Leave every country to practice the system that works for them biko

Are you okay? Self-determination cannot be confused with freedom of warship. In many stances where the process of self-determination has spiraled into armed conflict, UN had intervened hence UN Peace Keeping Force. And in most cases resulted in the realization of an independent country.
You are the one who is not ok

Go read about Catalonia referendum, and the recent Kurdish referendum. I asked you a simple question and you are playing the UN card.

Both Iraq and Catalonia has referendum clause in their constitution and that is why they could organize one without a single military operation (it's much like organizing an election) not because they bank of UN support. Why is Nigeria so scared at the mention of the word referendum? Let the people decide how they want to live!

You obviously think that every nation were people want self determination must have internal conflict that must degenerate to the extent of inviting UN peace keeping troupe.

And for your info, right of self determination is not greater than right of religious freedom. All rights are rights so I wonder why your glorified UN has not sent peacekeepers into Myanmar despite all the documented killing and ethnic cleansing going on

Basic education is also a human right and UN doesn't force any country to sponsor basic education. They only encourage member countries to include such rights in their policy and constitutions.

Countries who are largely peaceful have encoded all major UN Human Rights into their constitution including the right to self determination.

Nigeria is still operating a stifling military decree disguised as constitution and you are here defending it with all your strength!

But Mr. Dotard is creating his own narrative and many of his minions are buying the sh*t, how much does he care about patriotism, Five times draft dodger, a lot of disrespects to veterans who fought for America when they disagree with him, selling America to Russia and anybody else who can give him what he wants, supporting, Nazis, KKK and White supremacists who threaten America's Unity, the list is endless...He's the list person to be talking about patriotism.

Please get some education beyond the Nigerian grade. Self-determination is not codified in any country's constitution however it is an inalienable right of individuals to enjoy self-determination. The same UN that ascertained the cesspit called Nigeria should be recognized as independent country also had a resolution for self-determination which Nigeria acknowledged.
And you who have education beyond "Nigerian grade" is it the UN that instructed Iraq to organize a referendum or was it organized because it is in their constitutional right to do so?

You all keep shouting UN resolution for self determination but you failed to realize that the UN cannot compel any nation to enforce or respect that right.

Myanmar is a classic example. If your UN was that powerful why has it not enforced the right of rohingya Muslims to freedom of worship without persecution from government?

The constitution of each county takes precedence any day any time.

If Nigeria is not afraid why not include the referendum clause in the constitution like other countries??

Though not provided for in cfrn99 the right to self determination cannot be denied any people group in Nigeria who desire same since Nigeria is a signatory to the UN Charter that provides for it. However it must be pursued in a manner civil to the extent it would attract int. sympathy where Nigeria says no. Ndigbo politicians must be involved for the push to be credible.
Ken saro wiwa and the ogoni 9 would have love to read your submission up here. Alas they were murdered using thesame constitution in use today.

Abacha declared and convicted them of treasonable felony.... Same thing Buhari is declaring Kanu today.

If memory serves me right, Ken Saro Wiwa did not engage in hate speech or did he?

And No..... In a sane democratic society, Ndigbo politicians do not need to be involved for a referendum vote to hold. They are less than 0.1% of the south east population.
Power belongs to the people and not the leader. That is how it should be so that selfish leaders who have been bought and paid for will not keep holding their own people down.

Not much to study there sir. It's not rocket science.
They are able to organize a referendum because their constitution gives them that right.

It's not so much about the hate speech sir. No reasonable person will condone such utterances.

But even if hate speech was not involved where is it provided in the constitution that a section of this nation is entitled to self determination and that this right will be subject to the outcome of a referendum vote??

My point is that even though Bagdad does not want the Kurds to leave, they allowed the referendum nonetheless because there is a provision for that in their constitution. And the Kurds spoke through their votes loud and clear.

A constitution that doesnt recognize the right to self determination is a repressive constitution. And this is evidenced in the deliberate exclusion of a the right to conduct a referendum.

You can't keep hiding under hate speech to declare every group seeking self determination as terrorists.

Supposing the yorubas take up a similar struggle albeit peacefully, will Nigeria allow them go through a referendum?? [/b]

Well, I guess disrespecting the flag will help protect their life then.

No world government is perfect. And without patriotism, no nation will thrive. Ponder that for a moment and you will realize that this is a dangerous path.

Sports is supposed to unite all irrespective of political, religions or ethnic background. Must everything be politicized? Trumpers stand while never-Trumpers kneel?

Trump making his own people disrespect their national anthem. Interesting.
Nobody can make you disrespect a flag that gave you so much freedom and great opportunities unless you are innately disrespectful.

A disrespectful person will be disrespectful no matter what. Besides how does disrespecting the flag affect Trump personally? Doesn't reduce his worth in any way.

Patriotism is the reason America is what it is today and unfortunately blacks are at the forefront of this shameful display. They can as well skip the national anthem altogether!

People who were born into freedom and opportunity to not value what they have. Some of them need to come and live in Nigeria to appreciate what they have.

American system is not perfect neither is Trump himself but showing an open disrespect to your nation will not solve the problem. It will only compound it.
