RomanceRe: Would You Date a Blue-Collar (Manual) Worker? by IB7(f): 4:31am On Nov 28, 2005
omogenikky, i did just like u posted, I did not underestimate the powers of attraction or love.  But the only difference is, he's got a degree too. Came out of university with a good job with Lucent Technologies but got laid off during the peak of lay offs in america 2000-2001, so he did some manual jobs just like everyone else who didn't think about saving for emergencies.  I don't know if this implies but the sucker starting cheating on my ass while during that manual job.  I believed he got intimidated by me because I was making most of the money working in the office.

PhonesRe: How Much Do You Spend on Recharge Cards? (Phone Cards) by IB7(f): 3:30am On Nov 28, 2005
Wow, it is sure expensive to make calls within and from nigeria.  I mean in nigerian currency which doesn't have any value compared to most currencies.  But we are talking in "terms" of nigerian hard currency in NIGERIA alone. right? Of course.  Now I understand why my family complains about not having enough minutes whenever they call me.  Now the whole family does "flashing"  which basically means they call my home or cell then hangs up.  I in turn go to the african stores and get 7 ( $5 each ) different fone cards and call them back.   Thx guys for letting me know.  My family just complains about not having enough mins.
PhonesRe: Nigeria National Anthem Ringtone by IB7(f): 3:13am On Nov 28, 2005

DUH!  I appreciate Y'ALL telling folks how y'all got it, after all that good infos. the next sentence should be "you can get it from blah blah blah" and not trying to get some chezz for it either when one can get it for free, it's 2005 not 1992, GEZZ.
FoodRe: Is the Way to a Man's Heart His Stomach? by IB7(f): 4:20am On Nov 09, 2005
I believe there are different ways to a guys' heart. Thru food, great attitude, emotional support, etc. the list goes on. But the question at hand is if the old saying still hold. I don't think it still holds like it used to during our forefathers time. Bcuz for one, a guy can't appreciate a good woman when he sees one. The world is changing and the guys are terribly changing along with it.
I feel we need to be specific about what kind of guys' we talking about nigerian guys or guys in general? If it's nigerian guys in america then just forget about it. If it's nigerian guys in nigerian, gezz maybe I don't know since I haven't been home since I was 12. Now if it's guys in general, then you just don't know. I believe it begins with love and of course one loves because of the good he sees.
Best regards.
RomanceRe: Why Do Thin Girls Prefer Fat Men? by IB7(f): 3:56am On Nov 09, 2005
Well...guys. Tali, I don't agree with you on the issue that thin females prefer fat men. I believe that every individual has different preferences. You might perceive that pychologically but I don't think it is true. I am slim, 5'5" When I was younger I used to admire tall, physically built football players. But I realized that a guy might be fat, skinny or built, and have a really nasty attitude. When I met my boyfriend whom I just broke up with, I responded to his adimration bcuz he was tall, built and handsome. But it didn't stop him from cheating. I stayed with him for 6.5 years bcuz I liked the compliments we both got from almost everyone. He was like a prince and I was cinderella. Fat, skinny, slim, big guys, y'all do the same things.
I believe I am more mature now to know what I need in a guy. Skinny, fat, slim is o.k. as long as you know how to treat a woman. I don't mean fat as in FAT, I meant big, thick etc. Wait a min dear, if you are fat as in obese then you have a problem.
FamilyRe: I Can't Get On Well With My Mother by IB7(f): 3:38am On Nov 09, 2005
Hi michelin89...I understand exactly where you are coming from.  I am 25 and I'm just starting getting along with my mom just little over 2 years ago.  I don't necessary believe that the problem is your mother.  The problem is from both of you.  I moved to texas to live with my mom when I was only 12. She was never involved in my life bcuz she left nigeria to u.s. for school in 1981 and I was born in 1980.  Less than a yr when I came into the world she left me.  I had a good life in nigeria. My fathers' family were pretty stable to give me the world.  But having the world, from good dressing to maid to good drinks didn't heal my emotional pain.  That emotional pain was missing my mom. My point? I didn't have the immediate natural bond a little girl would have with her mother so I thot.  All I had was pictures and letters from her.  I have always despise her bcuz I thot she didn't care about me but that was very immature of me.
Moving to texas after 11 years of my life to live with her wasn't so easy especially when I was 16.  I thot I was grown and we weren't bonding at all.  It was weird because her and my older brother bonded and that me more angry.  I wanted to be her precious gold and I wanted her to treat me the way I was treated living port harcourt.  I was expecting the house girl, lots of allowance etc.  But life is not just about that.  Learn to compromise with your mother.  Try to understand how much she loves you and how much you love her.  I don't know if she was involved in your life since childhood or not. If not, try to analyse that, that might be the problem.  Talk to her as a daughter.  Communication is very important, I wished I knew that.  And when communicating try to be the bigger person don't feel like you must prove a point bcuz your point might be pointless and instigate the matter at hand.
Christianity EtcRe: Voodoo: Do You Believe In It? by IB7(f): 5:07am On Oct 28, 2005
oracle, i really like that...just like a myth, the poster says it all...it's funny
Christianity EtcRe: Voodoo: Do You Believe In It? by IB7(f): 10:48pm On Oct 27, 2005
Honestly, I don't believe voodoo exist. Call me naive or ignorant. And it has nothing to do with me leaving nigeria at an early age. I have met people from all over the world in United States. Everyone of 'em comment about good and evil. Now if we want to classify evil as voodoo then the list goes on. Per your question/keynote effects8000, it is all psychology which is the characteristics of mental makeup it is the temperament and associated behavior of an individual or group, or that exhibited by those engaged in a particular activity. That activity can be evil in terms of doing something wrong.

As far as practicing evil is society terminology of voodoo, especially in nigeria. What is evil? We all have an answer to that. Voodoo can also be classify as evil to most nigerians but not to me. There is evil but not such thing as voodoo. Nigerians cry of voodoo because they are infatuated with it since hundreds of years ago. I never knew anything such as voodoo practices until I was 17 and started making friends {nigerians} in high school. When confronted my mom about it; being the kind of christian she is, she said it is pure wickedness that most nigerians engaged themselves in. Now does it really exists? Absolutely not! Yeah, thatz what I told mom. She said it does, I said it doesn't. She has that nigerian mentality which most nigerians like herself suffers from.

Call it a practice or a religion or whatever, it does not exist. My naive believe is that most nigerians in nigeria and everywhere else who mature into a teenage/adult age before leaving nigeria believe in it because it is the nigeria get away concept when there's no answer for many questions facing nigeria. Most noble religion {christianity} is there but without patience, they divert to other means of artificial make believe practice to be satisfied with the circumstance or situation at hand.

Voodoo is a myth. People who believe or practice it are only looking for some unrealistic answers, to satisfy their worrys or whatever reasons they might have; i.e. wishing others bad luck, good luck etc. Voodooism is more or less an cultism practice which is not real. There are two things on earth classified by KARMA. Good and evil exist, basically what goes around comes around at its time.

This is my 2 cents on voodoo, don't take it personal. It's only an opinion. Thanks I.B.
PoliticsRe: Bayelsa State Governor, Alamieyeseigha, Arrested In London! by IB7(f): 4:29am On Oct 12, 2005
As a port-harcourt native, I don't want to be seem as taking sides nevertheless Cimonjorr is right and wrong.  Maybe because he's in manchester. Living in texas has not change my view as thinking of the world as a broad intercompany.  Constantly sitting on the other side of the river trying to put down nigeria/nigerians down is absurb.  Saying that ".....Show me where anyone in the world would rather prefer a country hide their corrupt practices and pretend like all's well.. or show the world how corrupt some people can be and their attempts to bring them to book... ... " is ignorant we both know this is done in America everyday unless if you are like the governor and martha stewart , you are bound to be an scapegoat.
On the record, I do not support the governor deeds neither do I support martha for inside trade.  My point, Cimojorr is Bush will not give d*** cheney, neither will he give his chief of staff up for a REAL investigate.it is politics.  Come off it.  Don't let America blind you, please.  Living in texas all through junior high and over half of myself has not made me ignorant.  White man is more corrupt than black man.the black man just don't have the skills to play it right.  Obansanjo, Atiku, Babangida, the governmor, Odili and all other politicians in nigeria needs to be investigated, period if they want to fight the war of money laundering.  This is politics, inside politics in nigerian and of course like usual nigerians have no shame.  The governor has no shame, letting citizens die of poverty while he lavishs their liquided natural resources in another industialized country.  He should be ashamed of himself carrying stolen cash from back home into a white man's country.  What is wrong with investing it in Bayelsa or port-harcourt, at least close to home.  Gezzzzzzzz dummies.
PoliticsRe: Pictures On the New 1,000 Naira Note by IB7(f): 9:51pm On Oct 10, 2005
Did I just read someone reply noted " I hope it won't cause inflation?" Duhhhhhhhhh in relative of nigerians being ready to pay taxes. I believe nigeria has 500 naira note? o.k. Inflation started before the printing of the 500 naira note, excuse me but sometimes i wished i wasn't a finance major. I would have appreciate it if it were japan but look at the nigerian economy. Yeah technology is picking up but look at all the sectors in her. It shouts INFLATION!!!!!!!
PoliticsRe: Bayelsa State Governor, Alamieyeseigha, Arrested In London! by IB7(f): 9:30pm On Oct 10, 2005
I have heard about this news from some friends.  I was never interested in nigerian news especially online.  I guessed I am looking at this from a young adult female prospective.  You and I know that Obansanjo is a corrupt man as much as he proclaimed to be a democrat christian.  I just don't think everything is playing out right in the public eyes.  As much as I hate to say this....public officials are not civilians.  There is a reason why they are in public offices.  I bet you if we (both of us) can have the access to dig out obansanjo's laundry we will find many disgraceful things which recently took place.....say last week or last month, what do u think?  I believed that all politicans are stupid and ignorant in nigeria.  Stupid cuz they can't see the beauty of many industrial nations and make a change for nigeria.  Ignorant cuz they are selfish and cares not for their fellow nigerians (namely civilians/avg nigeria like my families.....obansanjo's so called change regarding money laundering I think is hypocritical).  Is like they only went to grade school and didn't even finish junior high.   And for your info, Bush will not make anyone face the music.  You and I know that very well.  People like Martha Stewart who are not in the club can only face the music.  This governor in jail is being made an scapegoat that's my take on it.  And I believed that it is a sad situation for nigeria/nigerians as a whole because it ain't gonna stop the corruption but only makes it worst.  This arrest is not for the sake of the mother nation but amongst rivals.  Think about it my dear.....
PoliticsRe: Bayelsa State Governor, Alamieyeseigha, Arrested In London! by IB7(f): 9:03pm On Oct 10, 2005
I think it is a disgrace that a governor of a state or rather a state official in nigeria will be arrested with no diplomatic regards thus he should be granted one.  This is another way nigeria/nigerians are looked down by other nations in the world.  I sincerely believed that although he's being made an a scapegoat, there are many others so called politicians who are involved in money laundering in nigeria. As a matter of fact not many others but "all politicians"  It is a good start but all those arrogants politicians would not want to use the U.K. for their vaults.  If I were the U.K. government I would start with Obansanjo.
If the international community and nigeria herself wants change in nigeria, they have to start from the top-bottom.  Starting from the middle or upper middle is only going to increase the tactics used in corruptions in nigeria.  That being said, guys it is very transperant of what is going on with this so called arrest... think about it.  If the governor and the president got some beef going they shouldn't put their dirty laundry for the public to laugh at....geez As much as Obansanjo is in favor of catching those thieves and flushing out those bad apples, he should (as head of state) support the immediate release of the governor, maybe not publically.  Another reason nigeria/nigerians will always be apart and in pieces. I am sure Bush won't be so reluctant like Obansanjo if it involves one of the governors of the united states.
