This same issue happened to my immediate brother, who sadly passed away in his sleep around this time in 2022. He lived alone in Lagos, away from family. His neighbors only noticed something was wrong when they perceived a foul odor coming from his apartment. After three days, they forced their way in and found him already decomposed on his bed. It was a heartbreaking experience. I cried for months because he was the backbone of our family.

His behavior deteriorated even further. He became emotionally abusive and said very hurtful things to me. He began asking me for money and even demanded my entire salary.

To cut the story short, I later discovered that he had deceived me all along. He was already engaged to another woman who had been living with him for five years. The truth shattered me. I felt like I had lost everything—myself, my virginity, my trust, and my finances.

Even now, whenever I think of him, I cry. I feel like I was made a fool of—used, betrayed, and deeply hurt.

At least you should be thanking God that he didn’t get you pregnant during those painful moments and that you didn’t contract any sexually transmitted disease. As heartbreaking as this experience is, it could have been worse. Sadly, there are a lot of guys like that—even in the church. Some come pretending to be believers just to devour and satisfy their flesh. It’s painful, but you’ve seen his true colors before it was too late. Let this be a lesson, not a label. God still has a plan for you, and He’ll restore everything you feel you’ve lost.
