RomanceRe: Having A Nigerian Wife And Kids In The UK Is Worse Than Slavery by ibkayee(f):
in the UK, the societal pecking order is children first then women then pets (cats and dogs) before men.
Lol

You are just upset that you cannot misbehave and get away with it. Your matrimonial misconduct and irresponsibility will not fly in the UK like it does in Nigeria.

I believe what you’re seeing is the UK legal system protecting women and children, maybe this is a shock to your system because in Nigeria it’s the complete opposite and they’re at the mercy of men. When you’re used to privilege, fairness will feel like oppression grin

The legal system isn’t perfect in the UK and there are some mischievous women out there gaming the system but for the most part, I doubt all these men would be a target if they were truly ‘innocent’.

These 99% (according to you) of Nigerian women in the UK cannot all be reporting these men for no reason at all.

I’m actually waiting for them to start taking the pity route, from denying there’s anything wrong with him at all to using it for sympathy points. He’s a difficult man to feel sorry for but Nigerians will surely find a way grin

Once you hear a man tell you ‘not to judge’, you know what time it is grin

“Me and meenah decided to go our separate ways..I want all our families and friends, fans to understand. This is no time to judge anyone.

”When love dies in a relationship. No one should force it ..” I want to use this time to thank everyone who has been very concerned and supportive.

"Meenah is a good person.. she doesn’t deserve a man like me. She will make a great and loving partner to a far better person than me.

” I am not perfect.. I will work on myself and be a better person.

"This has to be published because we want everyone who knows about us to be aware of our decision. Time will be good again..”

1. So, forget puff-puff and akara, fried plantain chips, friend yam, fried fish, etc., and other fried delicacies, na only frozen fried chicken nuggets dey unhealthy? undecided

2. So, ignore all the healthy foods wey dey McDonald's abi? I don ask you before, what part of the McDonald's burger is unhealthy? undecided
It gets tiring arguing with people who move the goal post and are committed to misunderstanding things. I hope the rest of your week gets better since it seems you’re in a bit of a mood today. Take care

1. So, frozen junk foods no dey Nigeria be that? Or only people in Nigeria don't make a habit of grabbing them from their freezers? undecided
2. So, the healthy foods at say Mcdonald's, Chipotle, etc. are not also easier and more convenient to access abroad? undecided
So the average Nigerian living in the poverty capital of the world is grabbing frozen chicken nuggets and chips since I specifically mentioned frozen junk foods, not frozen foods in general

These junk food franchisees have healthier options but are primarily known for their cheap, fatty, salty bargain meals. McDonald’s is literally the pinnacle of unhealthy fast food

Kobojunkie:
1. You folks and just spewing stuff without doing your own research. Even Mcdonald's food is no longer labeled unhealthy since it pretty much mirrors what you make at home. So, why continue to spread these lies against Mcdonald's? Which part of your bother is overprocessed again abeg? The lettuce? the cheese? The tomatoes? The bun? The beef pattie? Name it. embarassed

2. So the easy and cheap "proper" meals that we have access to here abroad are what? Not? undecided
Guy, I don’t know if you got tipped off that we’re getting paid by the world health organisation to comment on this thread but calm down because I don’t know what all the vim is about. If I’ve gotten something wrong that’s fine, I didn’t claim to be an authority on nutrition, I’m just speaking on my personal experiences.

McDonald’s is just an example of fast food, there are other franchises I can list, frozen junk foods, ready made foods, snacks which are not the end of the world if you consume every once in a while but a lot of these things are packed with sodium, fatty acids, sugar and most importantly a large amount calories in small portions, so if one makes a habit of grabbing these because they’re easy to access it can lead to a habit of an unhealthy diet.

From my experience, unhealthier foods are easier and more convenient to access abroad. If that’s not the case for you, no problem

Abeg stop lying! What has your "less processed food" gotten Nigerians other than a mortality age hovering at about 55 years still? Talk better make we hear! undecided

If your aim is less processed food, you can have it right here in abroad well well. So no need to make up bull for the show. undecided
I didn’t say less processed foods weren’t abroad, my point was that it’s easier to incorporate healthier, more nutritious meals at ease in Naija compared to abroad where the ‘fast’ foods tend to be things like McDonald’s.

I didn’t say Nigerian food is healthy, I didn’t say it’s healthier in general, I said it is easier and cheaper to get access to a ‘proper’ meal on the go, vs abroad where it will be more expensive, or you’ll have to make it yourself.

Calm down

Eba and efo
Jollof rice

Woww...that's great. I know piano is usually not taken as a special instrument by most people. But for the fact that it's the most important piece of music instrument, I respect it a lot ..

Violin is an instrument I will give anything to learn. My number 1
I think I was encouraged to play it by my parents

Christmas in the UK can be fun when around the right people, it’s usually an indoor, close knit, family affair but it’s generally more lively in Naija.

Everything’s closed in the UK, but plenty of things to do outside in Naija

Cheaper? Not true. Raw food is very cheap (in the UK at least) and that includes everything from rice (about £1 for a KG) and potatoes to meat , especially chicken which is dirt cheap (like 4 pounds for a full one).

The only thing that might make it easier is that in Nigeria there’s less processed food options being heavily marketed in restaurants (McD burgers and co) and stores (frozen pizzas etc) but that’s a matter of self discipline not the location.

But with discipline, it’s way cheaper and easier.
Yeah but ready made/fast food is also cheap and quicker. The convenience of it is what makes it easier to fall into the junk food trap.

In Nigeria I can also get a decent meal for cheap and QUICKLY instead of McDonald’s etc that like you said, aren’t as marketed in Nigeria as abroad.
