BluntTheApostle:
Interesting. I respect your opinion.

But I think Obi does not want to fix the country. He just wants to be president.

To fix this country, we need to work very hard on one of three major things.

And that is our huge trade deficit. We import more than we export. And Obi is the biggest single importer in Nigeria. How will he reduce our trade deficit when he himself is a big importer, and one of those that destroyed our naira with their importation business? It is like expecting a generator importer to want our electricity to get better. A better electricity will affect his business.

When the likes of Dangote were going into production, Obi continued to import.

Anyways, I enjoyed having this chat with you, Ibkayee.

At the end of the day, all we all want is a better life. And I hope we get it.

Happy new year in advance. Don't forget to send my own New Year rice via Bluetooth. Don't worry about chicken, as I am a vegetarian.
Exactly, I hope so too smiley

Happy new year in advance also, all the best for 2023. Alright I'll replace the chicken with boiled eggs smiley

I don't agree with you at all.

But I am curious to know who your preferred candidate is.
Fair enough.

My preferred candidate is Obi, despite this I don’t subscribe to any of that Obi is Nigeria’s messiah jargons because I don’t trust any politician and he amongst the rest all have some type of controversy attached to them. I've picked Obi because he comes across more as genuinely wanting to fix the country TO ME instead of being in it solely for power grabbing like the others. I’m also tired of rotating APC and PDP.

He could get into power and be even worse than Buhari, however he's the candidate out of the batch I'm most willing to give this chance.

at least it's gun violence bothering the US? citizens get to defend yourself..

but in nigeria people are butereched (not killed) but butered in their sleep, they cant even engage in violence to safe their lives because the govt doesn't permit citizens to defend themselves but to wait for the cowardly and slow military who will only arrive when you're dead already or dragged into the bush by terrorist...

Nigerians die like goats waiting to be slaughter... shocked

Tueh i spite on this country, even the devil is afraid of Nigeria.... grin dont ever put the US, or UK in same sentence with this hellfire... sad

BluntTheApostle:
But these are blames that should go to the Buhari administration, not APC. The APC is a political party, not a government.

The FG consists of the executive (who are not all APC members), the legislative (which comprises other party members who have members in the national assembly), and the judiciary (who largely claim to be non-partisan)

This FG is led by Buhari, not the APC.

There are gains and pains of every administration. Tinubu wants to build on the gains of this administration.

No, it is Buhari's failure. The buck stops with the president, despite the fact that there are other people who have responsibilities, but failed too (such as governors, senators, LG chairpersons and councillors).

Moreover, we were all here when Tinubu was evidently sidelined by Buhari. Some people from the other side were even mocking Tinubu, saying that Buhari used and dumped him.

You can't force a president to take your advice. You can't blame the pains of the Buhari administration on Tinubu or even the APC.

If you did government, you will know the primary aim of a political party is to get power. Everything else is secondary, and anything that bears little to nothing on the actual outcome is pointless.

We are coming off an 8 year of Buhari administration, not APC.
Everyone knows that APC have these key institutions in their pocket. Executive? APC led. Legislative? Now APC leaning. Judiciary? Compromised and undermined.

Tinubu, the self acclaimed ‘national leader’ that campaigned for Buhari and never condemned his administration is an accomplice at the very least.

No matter how this agenda of disassociating APC and Buhari is pushed, they are all part and parcel of this failed regime. Failure is indeed an orphan.
PoliticsRe: If Tinubu Wins, Would APC Be Motivated To Fix Nigeria? by ibkayee(f): 8:15am On Dec 31, 2022
BluntTheApostle:
What do you mean by the incompetence of APC?

Or perhaps, you meant the incompetence of the Buhari administration, especially in matters of security?
Inflation and food prices, children out of school, worsened national debt but definitely security especially

The same Tinubu who says he wants to 'build' on Buhari's legacy is now no longer affiliated with the administration? Did Tinubu separate Goodluck's administration from PDP when he was criticising them?

Buhari's failure is APC's failure.

Debates are pointless. Tinubu knows this.

You may want to read why this person thinks the American presidential debate is pointless:

https://www.cracked.com/blog/5-reasons-presidential-debates-are-pointless
You want to lead a democracy but think open discussion and debating is 'pointless'. All I see is an individual with contempt for accountability.

I suppose the same can said for the other top contenders.

For example, Atiku appears to merely fighting to actualize a lifelong ambition.

Obi once compared Nigeria to a car with a knocked engine, and that you can't make the car work by simply changing the driver. I agree with Obi that our situation as a country goes beyond leadership. However, if Obi has this opinion, do you think he would be motivated to work? Certainly no.

Kwankwaso? Well, not much about him.
I haven't painted any of them as saints. Incompetence is incompetence, no matter whose regime it comes under but consecutive incompetence is less forgivable and we'll be coming off an 8 year APC rule, not PDP, NNPP or Labour.

PoliticsRe: If Tinubu Wins, Would APC Be Motivated To Fix Nigeria? by ibkayee(f): 11:55pm On Dec 30, 2022
As a party? A vote for APC is the enabling of failure, naturally the party will become even more cocky in their incompetence, who wouldn’t?

As an individual? I’m not confident that he even knows what’s in his manifesto. 9/10 a political writer transcribed it for him and gave him sticky notes to read on the go. Debate? He won’t do, live dialogue? He won’t do. This is clearly a man too proud or ill to be answerable to the people he wants to lead.

Perhaps there’s a chance that once he gets into power, he will genuinely deliver, I can’t categorically say since I can’t see into the future however there wouldn’t be much motivation to do much more than the bare minimum, if anything at all.

Madam, do you really think the system we have in this country can work by any means with anyone in power? I am patriotic but let us all stop deceiving ourselves. Our leaders are running a system that was created intentionally from the start to fail. If we can secede, i think restructuring is not bad either. All of us cannot Japa!

Well the beneficiaries of its amalgamation aren’t hell bent on keeping things the way they are because they just love Nigeria sha. Plus even if it does secede, what happens to the smaller tribes? Nigeria is more than just Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa. Even restructuring that’s the next best thing will not necessarily be a walk in the park

Airport Road Abuja..

Was late for a flight to Lagos for an interview.. Some girl fvcked me to stupor, making me sleep like the dead.. Woke up barely 40 minutes to take-off sad

Na so Abosede for kill me grin

And no.. I won't try it again..anything above 140km/hr, I no dey do.

Whenever I see people doing such crazy speeds, I wonder whether they have given any thought to what might happen if the vehicle bursts a tyre at that speed, some critical suspension part like ball-joint fails, or some big animal runs into the road, or for some reason they have to do a quick swerve...

The quicker we realise that vehicles, no matter their age and how well maintained, can disastrously fail at any time, the better for us..

And the worst thing is that when tragedy befalls these people doing crazy speeds, they hardly die alone from their stupidity .. They almost always take other innocent road users, passers-by with them.
Risky

Did you at least make the interview?
PoliticsRe: Radio Ijangbara: Illegal Broadcast Won’t Be Tolerated, NBC Warns by ibkayee(f): 9:29pm On Dec 30, 2022
Nigeria will never secede, best you can hope for is restructuring
