Hello people... My Brother got admitted into Griffiths College, Dublin and is to resume sometime this month. What is the best way to get accommodation before arriving? Thanks guys. |
Hello good people! It's my first time on the UK thread. I know next to nothing about UK travel procedures but I'm making enquiries on behalf of a big sister whose husband has been in the UK for a while and already has residence. My big sister is his Wife, she's gone to visit him severally with their daughter who was born in the UK. However, her application to join her husband was denied on some flimsy grounds and the "Lawyer" who has been in charge of the processing said they'd appeal This has been on for a while now but I've referred her here as I'm confident she'd get accurate guidance on this thread. Where should she start from? What does she need to do now? Thanks people! |
Someone might need this. Found it on a notice board.

Scholastica16:Thanks Scholastica16 for your response. Yes, the bank is GTBank and I have internet banking options. What online banking options is available? Also, I checked TransferWise and it seems they only move money into Nigeria and not the other way round. Correct me if I'm wrong... What options do you know of that's reliable and economical? |
ibksolar:Hello everyone. Can someone kindly answer this? Thank you. If there's anyone who needs naira, kindly PM me. cc: Walspring, Lagosismyhome, scholastica16, justwise, Twoods |
ibksolar:Please guys, kindly help with this. Thanks. |
Hello guys. I just moved to the US recently. Please what's the cheapest and reliable way to transfer money from your Nigerian account to a US account. Which route is the cheapest? MoneyOrder, TransferWire,PayPal(I'm not even sure this is possible)? thanks. |
Ned4delux:I ransacked this site all through yesterday but did not find where to book particularly for certification of documents. I only found those for short and long visa visits. Please if you have the exact url, kindly avail. Thanks again. |
Hi guys, Please can anyone provide me the url of the website where you book appointment for notarization of credentials at the Lagos Embassy? Or have they stopped booking appointments for that? Prompt responses will be hugely appreciated. Thanks a lot! |
LagosismyHome:Thanks Lagosismyhome From the conversation with the Grad Coord, chances of getting funding before resumption is very slim. So, my plan is to foot the bills for the first semester/session and work towards funding for subsequent sessions. The school said the balance must be $30,194 before i-20 is issued Issue now is who is eligible to provide the statement since no family member has that amount. I intend to list family as part of my sponsor when filling DS-160 because they would contribute to the payment of my first session. I need your guidance on this please. Thanks again |
Tekecoms1:Baba.,.. I'm sorry Sir. Please enlighten this Jew... PM me if needed Biko Any ideas from other experienced folks in the house will be greatly appreciated. |
Hello good people. I have a quick question and will appreciate sincere guidance. So I got a PhD offer in University of Kansas but I'm asked to submit financial statement of $30,194 before I'm issued I-20. My Grad Coord mentioned that they are working on fellowships for grad students(which I assume would include funding) but she advised that I submit the financial docs first because the fellowship processing might not be consummated until resumption in Jan. I also spoke with a Nigerian in her 4th year and she was like, just get the document and come over: they'd settle your fees when you're here. Truth is, I have gotten some money for my first semester but I don't have the $30k balance. No family member has this amount. Whose statement can I use that wouldn't give me issues at the embassy? What do you advise good people? How best can I scale this hurdle? |
Just one person out of about 30 that made it to the interview stage has been given the offer letter so far. He'd resume this weekend in France. |
OK guys, let me calm some frayed nerves here... I'm going to give some insider info....HDS is doing a job for Heritage Bank. HDS is nothing close to GNLD or the likes... If you're good at what you do, then you might want to give it a shot. Best wishes! |
Ajaoogbo:If you've entered your result details once, I guess it automatically saves it but does not show it when you return to the page. To confirm, check if you have a TICKED box towards the end of the page. It should read "uploaded" when you hover over it or click it. Maybe any can help with this, I'm having issues uploading my Degree, NYSC, et al. I doubt if it's the file size. Anyone in same shoes? Those that have gone past this stage, how did you upload your docs? Thanks for the anticipated response.... ![]() |
I think you should be more specific about your discipline and what kind of firm you're looking at working. Anyways, if you an engineering undergraduate, search for APM Terminals, Apapa. I think there's an opening there now, its a good place to learn. My best wishes! |

Hi everyone, I came in earlier on Wednesday to share my experience with fellow NL. I'm not sure if its same thread but it has similar title as this. Electrical was on Wednesday....So I guess accounting will be tomorrow. For more details on the nature of the test, check my other posts. Best wishes all |
Hi all, for those asking for test format: 27 questions from 3 sections; 8 questions in the first, 9 in the second and ten in the last section. First two are comprehension passages with very funny subject of discussion, last is logical reasoning based on a statement given. all in all, no calculations at all, just passages. my best wishes. BTW: For those that intend to gatecrash, they seem a little organized. They did not invite a lot : they divided it into different days based on the course of study....SO be informed! |
Have you tried Huawei lately? If not, give them a try. Seem they are doing lots of recruiting lately. If you've really got this stuff, its only a matter of time, you're going to get something cool soon. I'd employ you if am an employer ![]() My best wishes friend! |

slimtriggaman: The qualities are intertwined and no correct answer e.g, result oriented, integrity, able to withstand pressure, highly motivated etc, infact all the qualities of a leader, the most important thing you should bear in mind is, 1. Be able to speak up and let your voice be heard, 2. In the group work, when you give a suggestion back it up with a cogent reason, even if it's not acknowledged by the group, don't worry one of the panelist might like what you said, 3. Do not speak negatively of any of your group members and be honest in responding to questions like nominate so so number of people that should be or not be given an offer especially according to performance and lastly, try to be either the group leader, time keeper or the one that writes on the board...I wrote on the board for my group, was the time keeper too and still.....no show. That's not to discourage anyone from taking up such responsibilities but there might be more to it than just that. You'd expect that in an interview consisting of closely and almost equally qualified folks, the selection yardstick will be dynamic and not totally predictable. So... Give your best, pray hard and hope for the best! BTW if anyone has/hears of a good offer for me: I'm your Elect Elect brother, kindly holla @me Ibksolar@gmail.com. Gracias! |
Hey guys, meeting with board of directors was so-so. Guess that's why no one came back to give a lowdown. I dint get the job eventually but it's OK. I'm doing this for others that may get the invite much later tho it seems they already have enough for the year. But ours we enter this way... 32 smart folks invited, 15 selected. You know your fate immediately after the session. What more? 1st you describe yourself in some 2-3min. Then some random questions based on what others said. If you have a first class mention it loud. If you also speak other languages like French, etc...say it to. Then you're given a list of 15 core qualities to rearrange in your own way from the most important to the least important. Then you're broken down into groups to do thesame chore. A group leader is selected: try to be one because that seem like automatic selection else try to be very active in your group. And then, the Rep for each group does a presentation to explain the groups choices. Then....the final selection. I think I've tried. Hope to answer more questions next time I come around . My best wishes. |
Hi guyz. I guess the technical interview stage is over. Congrats to all that made it. HR interview.... how was your experience with Aunty Seun?? ![]() Lets know when they start calling for the next stage. Best wishes to everyone. |
Skywavenigeria: Pls ma pple, have anyone dat sat for d exam on 21st of june being contacted?I'm yet to hear from them. Did you write the test too? PM me your no. |
Hi guyz, sorry it took me a while to get back here. The test format is Nordic difficult; 60 questions in an hour. First mathematics: 20 questions Calculator allowed I guess they have series of questions they pull from. But the questions aren't too difficult. Basic GMAT kind of thing. The one I did has more of this two statements and a question: data sufficiency in GMat. Then some fraction based questions Then 20 questions English. A passage with about 7 questions, then critical reasoning and..... Can't remember it all. But the one I did didn't have synonyms and antonyms in it. Then the last set is technical set of questions. Computer related questions , types of antennas, Parallel and series combination of capacitors and resistors particularly The material that conduct the most of copper, iron, zinc.... That's all I can remember for now. Wish all those writing all the best. Plus I got my invite without knowing anyone though I found out later that i have some friends working there. About transparency, I'm not so sure but I don't think they are so shady. At least some big-men pikin sef come write the test. All the best again! |
Hi everyone, I guess before the attack on Nairaland, there was a thread with this topic but after the comeback, it seems the thread is one of those that could not be retrieved. Despite the setback, we still have to help each other with good information as regards the opening. I wrote the test on 21st June,2014 at the huawei office beside Oriental Hotels in Lekki. Mr Seun Fasuyi (the HR guy) promised to get back to us after they've graded the test. Has anyone received any message from them yet? |
