Sports / Bale's Records Make Mockery Of 'the World Most Expensive Footballer' Tag. by IBnatty(m): 5:40pm On Sep 02, 2013
Gareth Bale is now the most expensive footballer on the planet but the question remains '' Does he deserve it?
For me, the answer is N0 and I will give you my reasons backed with facts.

Bale is a great player, one of the quickest I've ever seen. He has the ability to perform and use his technique at great pace. But world most expensive footballer? Hell no!!. The last two most expensive footballers are Zinedine Zidane (2001) and C. Ronaldo (2009). Below are their records few seasons before they moved (to Real Madrid) on a record fee.

Ryabcool: Another personality bashing thread. Not surprising cos its typically what people of your kind from that particular part of the country thrive in doing. Chest beaters and threat makers with no balls to back their words...

Because he is from your part of the country, you are blind to the truth huh? That man you re trying to defend bashed not only the most respected people you can think of but a whole race.

No need to exorcise you of your bigotry. You re so deep into it. May Allah have mercy upon your pathetic soul.
Politics / The Real Femi Fani Kayode We Know. by IBnatty(m): 9:08am On Sep 02, 2013
Lately, FFK has been very outspoken, he has a way of giving unneccesary weird opinions in every discourse of national relevance whether it concerns him or not. From Awo vs Achebe debate to Lagos state government deportation of ndi Igbo to roping in Lady Bianca into his ugly ironic tale so as to lend credence to a well known lie. In all these debates and more, he lets out biased views littered with many absurdities and little truth.
He might have recorded success in getting media attention but certainly, not 'our' respect because we know who he trully is.

His antics make no pretensions about his desperation to gain some kind of political weight before 2015. With the hope to ride on our collective sensibilities and at the expense of rationality, history and truth he is trying too hard to appear electable, even re-aligning politically, from PDP foot soldier to APC apologist all in a bid to remain relevant. Though he might have suceeded in fooling EFCC to get them off his neck in the misappropriation of 19.6 billion naira(approx. $300million) aviation fund, but he can't fool us this time, there is no way one can fool all the people all the time. Nigerians are alot wiser than we were in 2008. Now we know who he trully is. Below is the real FFK we know.

A UK educated lawyer from a political and legal Family of elite class. He is a Christain, an Ile ife chieftain, born in Oct. 1960, serial divorcee (he has been married 3 times for now), a succesful businessman, Politician, a 'yoruba' activist, die hard tribalist, corrupt(of course), a sophist, uncouth, arrogant, poet wannabe, former SA to OBJ, former culture & Tourism minister, former Aviation minister, and lately a pathetic publicity seeker who could use any possible cranky scheme to get the attention of his targets.

Nigerian politics has turned into a theatre filled with unfit actors like FFK. Come 2015 we shall vote them not just out of the stage but into oblivion.
Please feel free to add your own discription of FFK.

Sports / Re: My Worst Fears About Messi's Injuries!! by IBnatty(m): 11:27am On Aug 23, 2013
My dear, Barcelona really needs Messi but they need to do something about hîs health pronto.
Sports / My Worst Fears About Messi's Injuries!! by IBnatty(m): 7:52am On Aug 23, 2013
On Wednesday night, It was really sad to see Messi limp off at half time in the first leg of Spanish Super Cup against Atletico Madrid. I am not the only one that was uncomfortable, Camera showed faces of thousands of 'good football lovers' wearing worried expression at the sight of a limping Messi. I could tell what was running through their minds.. Hamstring again?

Towards the end of 2012/2013 campaign, he missed a handful of games and didn't start or complete a few because of a nagging hamstring strain. People who know Messi from way back will affirm that he enjoys a season free campaign often. As a matter of fact since 2008-2009 a case of a long-term injury or reoccuring injury can't be found any where in his career profile. What is happening now?.

Messi is 26 now, young, strong and fit but about 14 years ago, Messi was anything but strong and fit. His I69cm height today is seen as a feat for anyone whose condition could only permit a height of giant midget. Barcelona picked him up and enhanced his physique and stamina through medical science.

Though Barcelona's medical enhancement couldn't give Messi the ideal athletic physique nature denied him, but a combination of a natural gift of a rare ability to do 'merlin things' in the soccer pitch has earned him the first spot in the league of greatest footballers ever.

Before the Guardiola era, Messi had incessant injury woes, again Barcelona wielded their scepter of Medical Science, this time, they placed him on special fitness program, special diet and management. Once again it paid off, infact Messi became the best. Besides avoiding a serious bruise since 2008/2009 season, he has played at least 50 games per season bangin more goals than the number of appearance he has made since the last two campaigns. Now his days of injury are here again and I am asking..

Has the special programs designed for Messi no more working?

Is the efficacy of medical enhancement taking a negative toll on our best player 14 years down the line.

Is Barcelona's lab no more functioning at full capacity?.

Is this how this great footballer is destined to toe the inevitable 'downward slope' of his glorious career.

On the aside, Messi is indeed a good player but no matter how good he is, he can't be better than Pato.. in injuries.
Sports / Re: Iyabo Abade (ex-Falcon) Is Now James Johnson by IBnatty(m): 4:05pm On Aug 20, 2013
I can only imagine how difficult it is for Mr Johnson to be a man after being a girl for long.

Surgery might change him from Iyabo to James but not the ss.ee.x.ual orientation. If he was gay when He was Iyabo (ie lesbian) then he is safe now. But If he wasnt.. then getting a decent e.r.e.ction will be such a hardwork.

Dude seriously, how many cards of viagra did it for you.
Health / Artificial Human Ear Grown In Lab(photos) by IBnatty(m): 10:13pm On Jul 31, 2013
Artificial human ear grown in lab

US scientists say they have moved a step closer to being able to grow a complete human ear from a patient's cells.

In a new development in tissue engineering, they have grown a human-like ear from animal tissue.

The ear has the flexibility of a real ear, say researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

The technique may one day be used to help people with missing or deformed outer ears, they believe.
Titanium scaffold

The cells were grown on a titanium wire scaffold that is modelled on the dimensions of a real human ear, taken from CT scans.

The new work shows that in theory it is possible to grow up enough cells - at least in animals - to make a full-size human ear.

"In a clinical model, what we would do is harvest a small sample of cartilage, that the patient has, and then expand that so we could go ahead and do the same process," said Dr Cervantes.

"This research is a significant step forward in preparing the tissue-engineered ear for human clinical trials."

He said he expected that the process could move into human clinical trials in about five years.

Other research into bioengineered organs is progressing fast.

About a dozen patients have received transplants of artificial wind pipes coated with stem cells taken from either the patient or a donor.

Meanwhile, a kidney grown in the laboratory has been transplanted into a rat, where it started to produce urine.

Are you an unemployed graduate?
Do you see your certificate as a sheet of paper that cannot get you a meaniful and decent income. Consider these words before you cönclude that you cannot achieve 'great things' with or without 'that Certificate'.

1)Certificate is evidence of knowledge acquired, It can not be taken as knowledge itself.
2) Your grade/Certificate does not define you, what you choose to do with it does.
3) You can make money without a suit.

Education / Beautiful Artworks Made By Some Students Of UNN + Pictures by IBnatty(m): 9:42am On Jun 08, 2013
On that Thursday morning, (6TH June) as I stepped into main lounge of Nnamdi Azikiwe Lib UNN I got trapped in the ambush laid by the ambiance in the lounge. Looking around, I realized that I wasn’t alone, just like me, a handful of students were gaping at the things that exuded the ambiance- the ambiance that ambushed all of us. Beautifully made artworks stood, some hanged alluringly, covering a greater part of the right wing of the lounge. Even ‘’ardent non art lovers’’ or people who felt embarrassed by the captivating sight slipped into ‘’eye-right ’’ mode as they made their way pass the exhibition. The artworks are indeed beautiful.
7th being the last day of the exhibition, I met some of the artists after much ‘’abeg, biko, please’’ I was allowed to pictures of artworks from afar [When I mentioned nairaland to one of them, he begged his colleagues on my behalf to allow me use my camera]. Here are some of them. Enjoy.

P.S Non art lovers please this thread is not for you. Thank you.

Bro, why do you say so? I feel his chances are all but slim.
I'm a very rational Nigerian at the same time pragmatic. When I see or hear an intelligent man speak, i know. He will make a good governor, I might be wrong though.
