Odenigbo Aroli: 4rm all logical political permutations, with or without Umeh as the APGA chairman, the once flourishing 'party ndi Igbo' will be taken to the cleaners in the upcoming governorship polls. The party is so divided that no amount of influence from the party stalwarts or flag bearer can unite its disparate members. Oh, Ojukwu will be turning in his grave now. |

I think the reason is not far fetched. Mr Okah is the pioneer and the masterminder. The BH guy that got 3yrs was merely an errand boy. I bet that Shekarau guy would more bag than 15yrs any time he is caught. MEND has everything to lose if they resume hostilities. |
Politics / An Open Letter To MEND. by IBnatty(m): 11:06am On Apr 05, 2013 |
Dear MEND, I chose to write to you through this medium because I believe Gbomo Jomo or the persons that operate under that code name are either members of NL or at least frequent visitors. Please excuse me if you dont like an open letter. On issues like this, I prefer an open letter. I've been uncomfortable since I learnt from Premium times newspaper that your boys are bent on resuming fresh attacks come Friday. Though I know your planned attack will be on the FG, but the havoc and the corresponding effect of your attacks on the masses in particular makes me shudder. I'm also greatly concerned about the ripple effect this attack might generate. Maybe you dont know, some Savages in this country see MEND as somewhat a role model. Some claim BH boys learnt their now perfected art of bombing from you. Some others opine that kidnapping which used to be an exclusive stratagem of you and your brother militant groups has now been taken as a full time job by some miscreants in the East. In the light of these facts, Please I suggest you apply caution and restrain from using any dangerous strategy. Words on the streets are that MEND is not particularly happy that BH boys have pushed them into obscurity. With their absurd agenda & a style borrowed from you, they(BH) are constantly making the headlines besides getting mentions in international discourse. A feat MEND attempted without much success. They say the real truth behind your planned fresh attack is to reclaim your pride of place on the front pages of our national dailies. This is ridiculous isn't it? Well, I doubt if I would have to think deeply to know what to believe because when I look at the reasons you give for resuming attacks, I Iaugh. I heard thousand of militants including those from your ranks that embraced amnesty have either been trained or are currently being trained on various decent crafts abroad. The amnesty package, I learnt also comes with a reasonable stipend that comes in monthly, a previlege millions of unemployed Nigerian youths can only wish for. I'm wondering why you want to turn your back on amnesty, what your boys & other militants have come to accept as a vital dynamo for the realization of their struggle. Is that you know what they dont know or you are yet to understand that your region needs bulldozers & and not armoured tanks?. You said you want to unleash mayhem on the FG for their complicity(with the SA government) in the trial of your leader Mr Henry Okah. Well, to be frank, I doubt if your 'plan' will in the long run change the stand of the FG much remember he admitted he broke the law. After several years of economic sabotage, kidnapping & killing of Nigerian Soldiers, Someone would have to bear the brunt of the sins of others especially now the others have been cleansed on the altar of amnesty. It is unfortunate that the lot fell on Mr Okah. But there's hope. Since the present administration now holds a reputation for granting pardon to coup plotters, persons of sodomic sexuality, thieves/fugitives, a man convicted for treason could as well be added to that infamous list in the near future. Please reconsider your plan, infact I think you should make the Present administration's run beyond 2015 a top priority. That's the key towards securing a space in that infamous list. Barely 2 years ago, your people massively voted to elect a man, Goodluck Jonathan, your own brother, to be the president of this country. It is their wish that the blood thirty miscreants operating in the north be expunged for Jonathan to rule under conducive decorum so as to accomplish his transformation agenda in your region & other parts of the country. The welfare/wish of the Niger Delta people, you always maintained, is the fulcrum of your agitation. Why jettison their welfare/wish now for the gratification of carnage loving few? Your plan is capable of shooting the long wish/desire of your people for transformation into illusory. Nigerians are weary of violence and bloodletting. We are weary of kidnapping, economic sabotage whether in the form of oil bunkering, corruption, pipeline vandalization or money laudering. Anything that would denegerate our society into such barbarity is considered as an 'Enemy of the people'. Many Nigerians like me still see MEND as a 'Militant group' instead of 'Terrorist group' which some say is a more suitable appellation. In the wake of fresh attacks and when popular the sentiments fizzle away, 'We the people' will unanimously adopt the former appellation for MEND,the FG & International community will follow suit. This has dire consequences considering the Big Sam and its allies' stance on terrorism. Since the inception of the democratic era, the elected officials in each Niger Delta state have been recieving several billions of dollars in allocation/revenue. Infact more money started pouring in the time you & other militant groups heightened your agitation. When was the last time MEND looked into the account books of the Niger Delta states? Does the level of development corroborate the amount of money recieved? What measures have you taken to ensure that the 13% derivation fund is put to maximum use? I ask these questions because I want you to see the need to look 'inwards'. Between 1999 - 2007, You & other militant groups were in creeks struggling to get emancipation for your region while matching JTF fire for fire, a certain Mr James Ibori was in another part of the same region looting dry the treasury of the state he was governing. No be case of baboon the work, money dey chop? Thank you for patiently reading through my letter. I earnestly hope you will find my views helpful. Ýours in the struggle, IBnatty McDonald. What is wrong with MEND sef? Even after amnesty? You can't eat your cake & still have it. You guys swallowed the amnesty bait without proper consideration of what that means to your agitation for proper resource management and development of your region and your people. Destabilizing a country your brother is at its helm shows you want more than those good things you say you re agitating for. You want (undue) attention and to be pampered with more funds. Look, you are not going to get it. Nigerian is for all of us. |

I thought the open heart surgery method is somewhat ineffectual against most prevalent heart diseases today? Anyways, I applaud GEJ administration and the Nigerians in diaspora for making this happen. It trully grants veracity to the report that says Nigerians in diaspora generate more GDP than many states in Nigeria combined. |

I bow my head in shame. Nigeria is like a w.hore nobody respects her. Her leaders & her citizens, none trully loves her. All we are after is her resources, regarding her institutions with disdain. We are indifferent about her future. Today I pledge to her to do better. However He who thinks he performs his obligations to Nigeria be the first to castigate me for occasionaly placing my interest before that of Nigeria. |

Entertainment / 2face Doesn't Deserve This!! by IBnatty(m): 1:57pm On Mar 26, 2013 |
Since his glamarous beach wedding on the 23rd of march in far away Dubai, the media has been agog with the news. True to their nature, Nigerian bloggers have been releasing pictures showing nigerian celebrities trying to out-pose one another in their gorgeous and for some, outrageous outfits. Some of them didn't go to the Dubai staged wedding because they have much love for 2face or Annie, infact some in their bid to regain their lost relevance went there so as to get mentioned/seen in the sure fire wedding. Suprisingly, comments showing 2face's fans displeasure at the choice of the venue has also been on the frontburner on social networks too notably facebook, twitter & nairaland. Some fans' jibes at 2face, I understand, are purely for comical relief since we live in a country where an average citizen is under pressure to rise above the poor living conditions & insecurity prevalent in the country, while some fans' jibes at 2face are stemmed from hatred, ridiculous anger, ingratitude, myopic disposition, lack of appreciation & above all selfishness, these I've looked into and I find them baseless. I rather address the latter crop of his fans. Just this morning on Facebook, A young lady whom before now, I thought was civil & well mannered unleashed drones of insult in a kamikaze-like manner because I refuse to agree with her that 2face was wicked & stupid for choosing Dubai as the venue of his wedding. No, she didnt rain insults on 2face, she was Katrina & 2face was new Orleans. The insult came pouring like a Huricane. The young lady is not alone in the bashing venture, hundreds of thousands of his fans(& bad belle people) have joined the foray, calling him all sorts of unprintable names for having 'his own' wedding in Dubai. And my question is.. Does our 2face deserve this? In this age & time, it is at your own discretion to get married or stay single. So long your choice is consistent with the law, it is no body's business. When you decide to get married, as an individual you have the exclusive right to choose WHO,WHEN & WHERE to get married. That you're a celebrity shouldn't change any of that. 2face considered his wedding the most important ceremony in his life & he chose Dubai, everybody should just shut up & live with it. That he had his wedding here in the country or elsewhere wouldnt have changed anything. In any case, it would have been restricted with limited number of guests or somewhere in an undisclosed venue just like his colleagues in the entertainment industry did. Who in the world would want his/her wedding to be ruined?, ..to be crashed?. Besides many celebrities have gotten married outside their country. Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes had an elaborate staged wedding on Nov 18, 2006 in Italy & their fans didn't fuss. If tomorrow the KoKO master D'Banj decides to have his wedding in Antartica or on Fiji Island. Fine. It shouldn't be anybody's business. When e go vex me na wen e no marry from kokolet kingdom, just like Sir Elton John did. My point is.. please guys give 2Baba a break. 1 Like |

Jorge Bergoglio, 76. Former Archbishop of Beunos Aires of Argentina(since 1998). Now Pope Francis. Ordained a Priest in 1969. Became a cardinal in 2007. He is a Professor of Theology. Hint.. Vatican is weary of long Papacy, (eg Pope John Paul elected when aged 58) weary of Italian papacy and wary of any cardinal that his diocese was mashed with Child abuse controvesy. |

Going from the internal Politics brewing in the Vatican & in the Roman Curia. Also based on the capacity of their influential offices, position & the power their image wield among their colleagues. These Eminent Cardinals out of the 115 elegible cardinals are touted as Benedict XVI successor by analysts and the media. In no particular order. 1. Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan. 63. Archbishop of New York. 2. Cardinal Peter Erdo. 60. Archbishop of Estergom- Budapest. 3. Cardinal Sean P. O'Malley. 68. Archbishop of Boston 4. Cardinal Marc Ouellet. 68 (from Canada former Archbishop of Quebec). Head of the Vatican's office for bishops. 5. Cardinal Leonardo Sandri. 69. (from Argentina) Head of the Vatican department for Eastern Churches. 6. Cardinal Odilo Pedro Scherer. 63. Archbishop of Sao Paulo 7. Cardinal Angelo Scola. 71. Philippines.(He is the 2nd youngest cardinal participating in this enclave, My personal favourite, I pray he's elected). On the side note# Most likely a new pope will emerge at the end of voting tomorrow (ie thursday). I pray that the Holy spirit may guide and direct them. AMEN!! |

How come no one has never thought of this APC(d other guys, not d merger) registration as a decoy by Tinubu/Buhari & co to checkmate sabotage by their opponents against the merger while they bid their time & trash out modalities & all. What I am mean is this, fearing that PDP might do the 'known', Tinubu & co sent some of 'their' people to ginger a registration of a party wit the acronym APC, they wil go to the media & cry foul. This move wil earn public sympathy for them & ofcourse a bad name for the PDP. Above all the ultimate goal - PDP wil be handicapped in engineering or influencing a formation of a party with the acronym APC since something like that is already in the horizon by people not in their (PDP) ranks. When they are done with sorting out issues like Logo etc at their own pace (becoz obviously they dont wana rush the merger so as to avoid friction in the near future), the other APC guys will stop their ginger and withdraw and the merger gets registered. These ACN/CPC are smart after all. Dont take them for a ride. 1 Like |

Revolva: What is the essense of this chart sef....did I see tonto there...hey may jah I help our music industry in naija we too sabi medicrity tonto if not cos of her money is an upcoming to me To show the a true measure of success of a single, song, an album or artiste in Nigeria. We use counts of airplays a song gets on popular radio stations across the country, we also use number of downloads a song gets on popular websites also your voting counts but not much.Remember THE MORE YOU TALK ABOUT AN ARTISTE/SONGS ON SOCIAL FORUMS LIKE THIS, THEY MORE POPULAR THEY GET. According to google, Tonto Dike was among the most searched personalities in Nigeria last year courtesy of people like you. |

ayswags: Op i have some questions to ask u To know how the Chart works[including your opinion and suggestions about the chart] click here :https://www.nairaland.com/1185518/nigerian-music-chart-nl-debuts Like you said most charts on TV/radio stations are based on their the views of the media house/presenter. But this Chart aint. The essence of this chart is to offer a data/ statistics that will to a large extent show the true measure of success of singles, songs etc in nigeria. Just read the above link.BTW,Do you know that some songs stay on chart say Top 10 for over 15 weeeks. Please before you critcism or run down the chart visit popular charts like American Top40, UK urban chart, Billboard.com etc. If you really wana find out if these songs and not your friend's songs are the hottest songs in Nigeria, tune in to your favourite stations and also search for them on popular download websites. Until then, enjoy the chart |
