thev0ice1: Good on you bro. I'm a christian and i always remember Paul saying ''there is none righteous..no not one''
My take on this has always been in response to those who say it's better to stick with the devil we know (GEJ) than go for the angel we dont know (GMB).
My response is GMB isn't an angel, he's just another devil but we've spent 5 years with the devil called GEJ and 16 years with the coven called PDP, It's time to try another one. -in LAGOS state we have APC, N lagos is the commercial centre of nigeria, with 3functional ports n numerous industries n cmpanies. yet we still hv people sleepng under d bridge, people still go to bed hungry, we hv more armed robbers n petty thieves running their package, i am not even talking of internet fraudsters, that s their headquarters. so when add all these groups of people u will now see 80percent of lagosians ar independent, fending for themselves either by crook or whatever.but its total revenues srpasses that f other countries, yet nothng to ameliorate the plight of citizens that paytaxes to the govt. |

Like i said in my very first post, i've not even seeing the lagos project so if you say they've not even bought a single iron rod, i can't disprove you. I argue based on facts i have my friend. You should know me by now. I gave you my verdict of Amechi's project because i've seeing it physically and can make very informed decisions about it.
Lagos project and Kaduna-Abuja project can't be compared in the manner you wish. they are very different projects then TRAVEL n see somethings for yourself. stop reading theNATION, ITS own by tinubu. just travel n see whats going on in differnt states. go to lagos we hv two distinct cities, the mainland n the island. mainland is for the poor but their tax is being used in transforming the island. now is that fair? |

Gej's built locomotive rail tracks traversing jungles and no man's land but Amaechi built his within cities and necessitated demolitions and compensations where necessary(litigations also inclusive). Same goes for Fashola but on a more grand scale. How much then, you tell me, is land sold in these places compared to jungle. Should you continue thinking with your stomach any further, I'll be left with on choice than conclude you've never been to Lagos not to mention seeing the rail tracks you're ranting about. so is GEJ a governor or PRESIDENT? SO u mean he should be linking towns together instead of states? chai talk is reall cheap. dnt try speakng in the open cos ur gulibillity will cause a serious uproar. |

Realdeals: I hope you know its the same contractor CCECC thats is handling both the abuja and lagos rail line.
The scope of work which LASG have expended 160 billion naira on is not for the railway alone, the whole project is being handle by two contractor CCECC for the rail and Julius Berger for the road, beside a lot of building gave way to accommodate the ten lane road and the rail track and the rail track is a double standard gauge track. The abuja rail track might cost less because they do not have to pay compensation to anybody and their is a long stretch of the track which is single standard gauge. hw do u knw they dont pay compensation to anybody? meanwhile people shoutng land is been compensated by owners, i can emphatically tell u AMEACHI dont compensate lanowners when he grabs their lands for any project. for ur mind na bush fg built d rail tracks, n nobody get those piece of lands abi? |

kolonigga: Buhari has spent more than GEJ in military expenditure in Nigeria. FACTS: Published in the Journal of African Macroeconomic Review, Volume 2 Number 1, the study, titled “Comparative Regime Analysis of the Trend and Structure of Military Expenditure in Nigeria, 1980-2010″, the report revealed that while the Buhari/Idiagbon spent 38.68 of total allocation to the military on capital items such as military hardware between January 1984 and August 1985 when it was overthrown, the Yar’adua/Jonathan administration spent 34.67 percent of military budget between May 2007 and May 2010.
The authors- Anyawu Sarah, Egwaikhide Chris and Aiyedogbon John Olu Coris- observed as follows:” Buhari/Idiagbon in 1983 also allocated 38.68 percent and 61.32 percent for capital milex and recurrent respectively. They spent approximately 16 months. The Ibrahim Babangida regime (1985-1993) spent 19.58 percent on capital milex and 80.42 on recurrent milex. Abacha/Shonekan/Abdulsalam (1993-1999) regime expended 24.10 percent on capital milex and 75.9 percent on recurrent milex. The civilian administration of Olusegun Obasanjo (1999-2007) for a period of 8 years, spent 17.44 percent of her total milex on capital milex and 82.56 percent on recurrent milex. Yar’adua/Jonathan (2008-2010) had so far spent 34.67 percent on capital milex and 65.33 percent on recurrent.” Milex refers to military expenditure. Other studies show that since Jonathan took over the reins of leadership, the capital budget for military hardware has been decreasing while recurrent has been increasing. http://www.africanexaminer.com/buhari-regime-leads-in-military-equipment-spending/ u read d article at all? u no hear d man abi na paid alien said they r using 1976 weapons n tanks to fight? was buhari also the HEAdward that tym? |

Parading the suspect to newsmen in Dutse, yesterday, state Commandant of the Corps, Dr. Muhammad Gidado, said the suspect admitted committing the crime. He said the agency was still investigating the matter to ascertain if the offence was committed for ritual purposes. He also disclosed that the suspect had named some accomplices during the investigation, stressing that they would be fished out, investigated and arraigned for prosecution. Muhammed, however, disclosed that the girl was currently in the custody of the agency because of her condition. Muhammed, who disclosed that the agency was also trying to contact her family, enjoined parents and guardians to take their mentally-imbalanced children to psychiatric hospitals for medical attention to avoid abuse.

Politics › Re: S’south Got Lion’s Share Of PTF Projects Under Buhari - Figures Don't Lie by IbokUtoroh(m): 10:13pm On Feb 12, 2015 |
PassingShot: Contrary to the perceived lopsided siting of the intervention projects executed by the defunct Petroleum (Special) Trust Fund (PTF) in certain geo-political zones, the South-South zone got the lion’s share of the projects under the leadership of the former head of state and presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Gen Muhammadu Buhari.
This development and other disclosures were contained in a document obtained by LEADERSHIP last night.
The PTF was an intervention initiative put in place by the late Gen Sani Abacha regime which was operated between 1995 and 1999 to invest in socio-economic infrastructure – including in road transportation and waterways, water supply, food supply, health and education – the gains that would accrue from a new pricing regime for petroleum products introduced in October 1994, from N3.25 to N11 per litre, an increase of N7.75 per litre.
During the four years of its operation, the resources available to the PTF, according to findings, represented less than 10 percent of the nation’s budget.
From its inception in May 1995, and more particularly from January 1996 when it received its first disbursement, the PTF worked diligently in the execution of its mandate through its programmes, with an objective of resuscitating the nation’s collapsing social services and deteriorating infrastructure.
According to findings, a working formula was adopted by the Fund that recognized three categories of projects and allocated funds available to them: federal projects, 48.5%; state projects, 50% and FCT direct allocation, 1.5%. The state project funds in turn were allocated to respective states/zones using a set of criteria that gave consideration to equity, population, land/water mass, terrain difficulties and needs assessment. The location and coverage of the
PTF programmes and projects were designed to carefully fulfill these criteria.
In terms of allocations made to fund PTF projects as at May 1999, out of an estimated total of 187 billion Naira to all projects and programmes, about 56.5% was committed on projects in Zones 1 (South West), 2 (South East) and 6 (South South), i.e. the zones in the south of the country. Zones 3 (North West), 4 (North East) and 5 (North Central) had a combined allocation of about 43.5%. Indeed, in terms of difficulties in natural terrain, the projects in Zone 6 (the South South), such as road construction, were the most capital intensive. The highest zonal commitment was on capital projects in this zone, with 26.2%.
In terms of actual disbursements to projects by May 1999, 52% of all disbursement was made in respect of projects in Zones 1 (South West), 2 (South East) and 6 (South South).
Shortly before the inauguration of President Olusegun Obasanjo, Buhari submitted his resignation from the Board of the Fund. The rest of the Board of Trustees effectively became dissolved at the point of scrapping the body, in late June 1999.

pendy79: Tension heightened in Okrika, Rivers State yesterday as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Chief Dakuku Peterside was allegedly told not to hold a rally today. The exercise had been postponed thrice due to security concern.
This is even as the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan arrived in Okrika, her hometown yesterday. There was a security meeting between APC leaders and the police yesterday.
Briefing journalists yesterday in Port Harcourt, the Campaign Manager of Dakuku Peterside Campaign Organisation in Okrika, Tamuno Williams, stated that the inability of the police to provide security for their members in Okrika had led to the postponement of the rally thrice. Williams said: “We could not hold the first rally on Saturday, January 24, because unknown hoodlums blew up our podium and sound systems with dynamite. Cars were burnt and our canopies and chairs destroyed. The police then asked us to reschedule the rally for Tuesday, February 3. Again, it was postponed on the instructions of the police.”
According to him, the leadership of the party was surprised when the representatives of the commissioner of police said the rally had to be postponed indefinitely.
“We were shocked. It is clear to us that the APC cannot hold a rally in Okrika when the President’s wife is in town. We are also indigenes of Okrika”.
He accused the police of being partisan, stressing that the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Nyesom Wike, was addressing a rally at Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, with heavy presence of armed security, while they were holding the meeting with the security chiefs at the state police command.
“If members and supporters of the APC cannot hold rallies in Okrika, how are we sure they will be allowed to freely cast their votes on the day of the election? If the police cannot allow the APC to hold its rally at Okrika for security reasons, how are we sure the police can protect those who will vote for the APC at the polls?”, he asked.

PerfectFortune: I laugh when I hear some people talk about war like it is an ordinary strEet fight between Iya Sikira and Mama Chidi over a stall at the market.
War brings nothing but destruction and he who starts a war does not know what the end will look like.
The likes of Tompolo, Asari-Dokubo and the rest talking about war have never witnessed one before and pls don't compare the militancy operation in the Niger Delta with one. Majority of them will run away when the chips are down only to return years later to be self acclaimed war loords while lots of other lives and properties has already been lost. Afterall, they have nothing to loose.
Govt Tompolo and Asari-Dokubo were known for fighting for the rights of SS/NDelta until the amnesty and multi billion naira contracts were awarded to them. They (militants not ex) instead of investing in the NDelta or giving back to the helpless youth on the streets of NDelta they take their money and investments abroad, move around in convoy, gather chieftaincy titles and grow pot bellies.
When it seems like its not going to be business as usual, they resort to threat and begin to remind the unsuspecting Ndeltans that the North is against them so as to get their sympathy.
To help the people of NDelta unravel the mysery, please consider the following questions:
1. Has the FG not been giving out money and contracts to the Militants since the amnesty?
2. What are the contributions of the said militants to the region since amnesty and contract sharing?
3. Does any of the militants bother reinvesting in the region?
4. Does any of them have an investment outside the region, in the country or abroad? If yes, why?
5. Has GEJ been able to impact on and develop the region considerably in the last 6years of his rule? If no, why?
6. Why did the Militants keep quiet over non-development of the area (ND) in the last 6yrs (still)?
7. Why does the Militants want GEJ re-elected if he has not been able to develop the NDelta or atleast do somthing meaningful to impact +ly on the region in the last 6years?
8. Could the Militants have contributed to the reason why GEJ could't even do much to develop the region?
My ppl from the NDelta, pls don't allow illiterates to push you around. Atleast you need to consider your strenght (population, arm etc) before calling for war.
I believe your strength should be based on intelligence and technicality which is acclaimed to be the best weapon in winning a battle.
Say No To Violence, Embrace Intelligence, Say Yes To Peace. for howmany yrs hv they been enjoyng the amnesty deal? Can u compare the yrs of amnesty to that of northern rulers?
