Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Exxonmobil Contract Test!1 by ican(f): 3:04pm On Nov 18, 2009
Hello all.
Delta is very correct, Young graduates should not go after Contract jobs when you can get Permanent posiitions in other companies, no matter the coy, whether oil/gas coy or not, Contract job is a mess, You can be dismissed at any time, and there is nothing you will do about it, and the most painful part of it is not being dismissed at any time, if not that there is no career ladder for you as a Contract Staff, You can never become a Supervisor, (can u imagine that), they will just use u, pay you stipends that you call "big money" and then dump you anytime they feel like,
IT is better to wait for the real thing, it mit be difficult but i tell you, you will never regret waiting for a permanent employee posiiton in any coy, It is better to be a permanent employee in a coy paying you 50k than be in an Oil/Gas as a contract taking 250k, I know what am saying, i am talking from experience, Your 50k job is permanent and then you will rise on the job, but in contract, you will end up saying "Sir Sir" to ur younger ones who will wait and come in as permanent employees in that company,
And for you, Jaychuks, what kind of contract job are u doing in chevron, are u a Service Contractor or a Labour Contractor, As a Labour Contractor, i dont think your salary could be upto that, and if you are a Service Contractor, i hope you are seriously looking for another job that is a permanent employee job because that ur job is not guaranteed, it is not a curse, it is something we have seen over and over, I worked in chevron, so i know what i am saying,
I would have agreed to the fact that it is a good start but then people usually get stucked in it and will not look for better jobs again until when they are dismissed ; some even retire as Contract Staff, it is not good my peeps, we are still young, so lets go for the real thing NOW, b4 it is too late,

Good luck to you all.

Family / Re: Things You Expect To Happen During Honeymoon by ican(f): 12:17pm On Apr 17, 2009
@ Poster
Will like to share my thoughts with you, As u prepare for your HoneyMoon, invariably for the Married Life, Start studying the Scriptures that are related to Marriage, (Husbands love ur wife, wives be submissive to your own husband, Ephe 5:22-33), Also, get books on this issue, I mean good books, I recommend the "Act of Marriage", u may start to read the book two weeks to ur wedding, it is loaded and it is strictly for married couples or couples intending to get married soon, not for boys and girls,
Then during Honey Moon, you guys should discuss some issues, and then agree on standards you want to set for your marriage, e.g, how do you intend to resolve conflicts?, how many children do u intend to have, will you like to travel abroad later, and so on, important issues of marriage could be discussed during this period,
Then, if your wife is a virgin, then u may need to get a gel (pls not VASELINE!, I recommend K-Y Gel) that could help in the disvirgining process, it could be very painful without this, u can drastically reduce the pains by applying this gel, A clear description of how to use it is in "The Act of Marriage", the book I recommended up there,
You may discover some differences during HoneyMoon or sometimes later in Marriage, but pls whatever, always know that you are in IT for forever, so always seek to resolve not to aggravate issues, Tell God about ur concerns because He is very interested, HE is the author of Marriage, He knows all about it, He brought the idea of Marriage up in the first place, So talk to Him when there is/are concerns,
And also know that whether yor marriag ewokrs or not, it dependly on YOU SOLELY!!!!! dont ever blame anyone for your failures, you made the decision to get married so u should stay up to your decison, like I said God is there to see u through.

Finally, have FUN!, dont let the devil rob you of the fun of your Honey Moon (invariably marriage) cus of one unnecessary argument(s), here and there, Be quick to forgive your spouse if any offence comes up, if u dont forgive, you will miss the joy which you should have in marriage,

Marraige is fun, enjoyable, beautiful , wonderful and full of Blessings, BUT it is Hard work, u have to work at it to make sure it is what God calls it,

I hope I have given some tips, All the Best,

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Got 2 Aptitude Tests On The Same Day + 1 Interview: What Do I Do? by ican(f): 11:37am On Aug 26, 2008
Hello Poster,
Like "Oluite" said, I will advise you to reschedule the interview, but my brother if the Compnay dont agree to the reschedling, you can just burst Access Bank test and go ahead with your interview, then you can go for the Guiness test in the afternoon,
The reason is because I dont believe you should loose a job in an Auditing Firm because of Access Bank, you can be called for another test in Access Bank later if you resubmit your CV,
Interview stage means that the job is around the corner, the stages in Access Bank recruitment could take months, so why not secure a job in an Auditing firm, and if you rily rily like Access Bank (I personally dont like that bank at all), you can go ahead and submit your CV again, am sure they will call you again,
I wish you all da BEST!!!!!!

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Invitation For Skill Test From Bbc by ican(f): 1:03pm On Jan 03, 2008
@ saintneo, What do you mean by "confirm if the Company exists", Balogun Badejo& Co is a big Accounting firm that came into existence as far back as 1969. At least if you dont know, you should check the web.
Anyway, Friends, I have a friend that has been called for this same test, Graduate Trainee position precisely. Please give us useful information on what the test will look like,
Thank you.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Ecobank Or Still With First Inland Bank by ican(f): 3:16pm On Dec 13, 2007
Hello guys, Do you mean Eco Bank is far better than First Inland Bank!!!!
Why not stay with where you are and increase your experience so that when you want to leave , you will leave with some meaningful years of experience, Is 5months experience?
I personnaly think you should just stay in First Inland Bank, cus I dont think there is any big difference between First Inland Bank and Eco Bank,
All da best anyway, You have your decision to make.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Any Hope 4 3rd Classers by ican(f): 2:34pm On Sep 26, 2007
@ davidlylan
Please keep me out of this,
I think nairaland should not be a site where we insult each other, I suppose it should be an educative site where we learn from each other as much as possible, and I also believe we are all matured folks here,
When i said "if you dont have solutions to add, keep quiet, i do not mean to say keep quiet harshly, i mean you may not utter statements to that person in that regard. I am not in anyway an insultive person, i dont insult people even though its public and we can say what we like, I still respect you who ever you are and I think I deserve to be respected too. Above all, you are entitled to your opinion. You are a brillant chap (First Class material)So keep it up but dear character is also very important in life,
Then please dont insult me again, i dont think i deserve that from you. Have a good day, Are you a lawyer?
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Any Hope 4 3rd Classers by ican(f): 3:10pm On Sep 25, 2007
@ davidylan Yeah I understand it when you said 3rd classers should work hard to get their Masters and all that, but your first response was quite insensitive, you said

"work hard next time" thats quite insensitive.
You are not proffering solution to someone's problem and instead of keeping quiet, you are rather adding to it. I think I get your point of the person working hard now but David he cant go back to school to work hard to change that grade, unless he will get a new certificate entirely. So you should proffer a solution that will help him NOW, not yesterday, Yesterday is gone forever.
For 3rd classers, just work on getting your Masters and dont give up, keep applying. I know of a lady with 3rd class that worked at Virgin Nigeria. So friends, All things are possible with God!
Love you all and see you all at the top.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Zenith Bank Recruitment Process by ican(f): 1:12pm On Sep 25, 2007
@mokpas
I dont think the relation issue will affect you because your sister is married, she therefore has a surname different from yours. So set your mind free. You will get the job.
then @ igarra, someone asked a question and you answered with a question, is that not funny, there is no procedure as to inviting for interviews. You are invited if you pass their test (favour inclusive) and the number of interviews depend on them, I said "favour inclusive" because some people passed the test and they are never called,
But Zenith recruitment exercise get as in be these days, luv yah
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Beware Of Nairalanders by ican(f): 3:55pm On Sep 19, 2007
@ naija_diva
Sorry am gonna say, which university did u finish from? why bother your self with such a trivial matter. I have had several mails from guys in this forum but i dont give a damn, the only one i have ever met just maintained a platonic friendship with me cus i put him where he belongs.
Why give such a long story on your family, cus someone calls you "dear" thats very strange to me, I must tell you. Whats there in dear , does that add his kisses to your mouth or does that make you his dear in the sence that you are thinking of.
Please brace up, you might even be working in a place and ur boss calls you "dear", are you going to get angry at that. Please do brace up, that does not mean a thing. All I will advise you is to take your stand and let him know you aint in for rubbish.
Hi all my dears in the house!!!!! including you naija_diva, you are my dear!

Friends, Lets just give it to them because we didnt pay for this. It was actually interesting but really my expectations were not met at all. For those of us that we were in the afternoon session of the fair, it was really funny cus most of the interviewers were already tired by the time we were in and it was Graduate Fun when we got in there, and no more fair, we just kept submitting CVs. Thanks to GTB that gave me their biro, at least i have that to show that i went to the fair. But i will give them 60%. The BEST is on the way friends, dont worry.
