Two people lost their lives on Monday in a car accident involving two vehicles at the Gbagada territory of Lagos State, Nigeria.

An announcement by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said the bodies have been moved to the Lagos Mainland Hospital Mortuary.

Kikaose Ebiye-Onyibe an undergraduate of the university of Birmingham, UK, has reportedly lost her life after unsuccessful surgery to remove a ruptured appendix at the Gold Cross hospital on Bourdillon road, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigations, FBI, has declared a Nigerian, Kelechi Declan James, wanted.
The FBI made this known on its Twitter handle and its website on Friday.
According to the FBI, the accused has federal criminal charges against him from an investigation by FBI New York’s Cyber Crime Task Force.

As alleged in a complaint sworn out of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Mr. James, along with four other co-conspirators, ran an e-mail compromise scheme that resulted in losses of more than $5 million for their victims.
As part of scheme, the suspect and his co-conspirators allegedly defrauded victims across the U.S. by tricking them into wiring money to bank accounts the victims believed were owned by friends or business associates. They did this in two ways: by overtaking an e-mail account of an individual trusted by the victim and then requesting money be wired to a bank account; or by developing a relationship of trust with victim like an Internet romance and then asking the victim to wire money, the American agency said.

As soon as the money was wired, it would be moved from one account to another, and the funds would be withdrawn. Mr. James’s role in this scheme was to withdraw the money from bank accounts, the FBI said.

A Federal High Court in Lagos, has requested the impermanent relinquishment of the assets recouped by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from a flat in the Ikoyi area of Lagos State.

In his decision on Thursday, Justice Muslim Hassan requested that the 38 million dollars, 23 million Naira and 27,000 pounds be briefly relinquished to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Burussia Dortmund defender, Marc Batra has been hospitalized following an explosion that went off close to the team's travelling bus, which was conveying the players and coaching staffs to the signal iduna park ahead of their uefa champions league quarter finals clash with Monaco, which has since been postponed.

An alleged Boko Haram suicide bomber, who attempted to gain entry into the university of Maiduguri via the Branch of Works, was on Sunday shot dead by troops positioned in the school.

A Federal High court in Lagos has unfrozen the domiciliary account of Patience Jonathan containing $5,842,316.66 at Skye bank Plc.

The order of the court was sequel to an application argued by her lawyer Mr. Adedayo Adedipe SAN, leading seven other lawyers.

Adedipe urged the court to unfreeze the account on the ground that Patience Jonathan was not a party in the suit leading to the order made by the court.

Mr Adedipe while citing judicial authorities contended that the order was an abuse of court process as the court has no jurisdiction to make an order against a party that is not a party in a suit filed before the court.

The EFCC which initiated the suit leading to the order made by the court freezing the account did not file any response to the application filed to discharge the order.

Justice Mojisola Olatoregun upheld the submission of Mr. Adedipe and discharged the order freezing the account.

Sometime last year based on an application filed before the court by EFCC, the court ordered that the account of the former First lady Dame Patience Jonathan containing $5,842,316.66 domiciled with Skye bank should be frozen on the ground that,the money was suspected to be proceeds of crime.

Also affected by the said order were the accounts of five companies holding N7.4 billion and the account of Esther Oba holding $429,381.87. The accounts were located in six different commercial banks.

The order of the court was sequel to a further and better affidavit in support of Ex-parte originating summons sworn to by Abdulahi Tukur an investigating officer of the Economic and Financial crime Commission (EFCC) and filed before the court by EFCC prosecutor Rotimi Oyedepo Iseoluwa,

Mr Tukur averred that there was urgent need for the court to direct the managers of the bank accounts contained in the schedule filed with the summons FHC/L/CS/1343/16 to in the interim, forfeit the money contained therein to prevent further tampering with the account being sought to be attached.

Justice Mojisola Olatoregun while granting the order freezing the accounts listed in the attached schedule, ordered the anti -graft agency to file an undertaking as to damages if it turned out that the order was not to have been made.

According to the affidavit by Tukur, Dame Patience Jonathan’s money in Skye bank account number 2110001712 with current balance of $5,842,316.66 was presumably suspected to be proceed of crime.
The accounts of five companies, namely Finchley Top Homes Limited, Aribawa Aruera Reachout Foundation, Magel Resort Limited, AM -PM Global network Limited Pansy Oil and Gas Limited and Esther Oba were also affected
Finchley Top Homes Limited account 1102001996 domiciled at ECOBANK PLC with a current balance of N226,376,700.23 and a fixed deposit with balance of N1,099,511,484.88 were red-flagged.
Frozen too were Finchley Top Homes Limited Skye Bank account 1771731336 with current balance of N14,173,848.85, Fidelity Bank account 4011019539 with current balance of N1,800,494,000.00, Stanbic account 0016901361 with current balance of N40,594,12.88 and Diamond Bank account 0019213687 with current balance of N39,418,712.12.
Aribawa Aruera Reachout Foundation account 1222014221 at ECOBANK Plc with closing balance of N479,893,431.01, Magel Resort Limited with Fidelity Bank accounts 4011019546/5250059782 with current balance of N1,000,494,000, Zenith Bank account 1011744356 with balance of N858,923,982.00 and Diamond Bank account 0024351590 with balance of N174,166,207.00 were all affected.
Also affected by the freeze-order were AM-PM Global Network Limited Diamond Bank account 0026718889 with balance of N7,213,303.50 and Pagmat Oil and Gas Limited account 4011019577 with Fidelity bank with current balance of N1.8b and account 0026838491 with Diamond bank Plc with balance of N55,930,024.50.
Esther Oba’s account 0019213689 with Diamond and with a balance of $429,381.87 was also then frozen.

32-year old man, Obinna Arthur and his wife, Chinyere Arthur have been arrested and brought before an Ejigbo Magistrate in Lagos for allegedly raping the wife’s friend, video-taping the act, and sharing it on social media.

The couple, who reside at Ogundipe Street in Santos Layout in Akowonjo, Lagos, were said to have lured the victim to Greenland hotel in Egbeda where they drugged her before taking her to one of the rooms in the hotel.


In the room, the victim was stripped, raped and the sexual violation was recorded with a video phone.

The victim told the court: “after I was persuaded to come to the hotel, they offered me juice to drink, which I later found to have been mixed with a substance that made one feel dizzy.

“In my state of dizziness, they took me to a room within the hotel premises where the husband forcefully had sex with me, while the wife was videoing the romp with her phone but covered her husband’s face from being seen in the video.

“After the dastardly act, they went ahead to upload the act to the Internet and shared it on the social media and among my neighbours.


“I reported the matter to the police who later arrested the couple and charged them to court.”

While the motive behind their alleged action was not disclosed by the suspects to the police, the victim said she was close to the wife before the incident happened.

At the Ejigbo Magistrates court where they were arraigned, the couple pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Akeem Fashola granted them bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.


They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail.

The matter was adjourned till 15 May 2017.

A Policeman known as Tboss SARS, has mistakenly gun down a female trader at the Onipanu Toll gate in Lagos state. The story was shared by a twitter user @chydee. According to chydee, the officer fired his gun when a suspected yahoo boy tried to escape. A stray bullet killed her. Two others were also also hit by stray bullets.

The incident has stired up a riot, as the police man that shot the woman, MAMA AYO, is being searched for by an angry mob, led by the dead woman's son.
