WebmastersRe: Problem With A Joomla-powered Site. by ichamentor(op): 9:49am On Aug 28, 2014
-First, what Joomla version are you on ?
-I am version 3.3.3
-Secondly, do you have a link referencing to the Joomla article from the homepage ?
-Yes, I have a link on the submenu(drop-down) that should take one to the article when clicked.
-Lastly, have you created the article under a particular category and expect it to automatically appear on the homepage ?
-Yes, I put the article under a menu category. I expected the title to appear under this menu.

Thanks for offering the insights. I will check the above out again, just in case.

WebmastersProblem With A Joomla-powered Site. by ichamentor(op): 12:11am On Aug 28, 2014
Hello webmasters, please I need help with this hiccup. I have a website running on the joomla platform that I am managing. Recently, I added a new article to the back end but it does not appear on the front end. Currently, I have noticed that no changes made at the backend reflect on the front end. I tried changing the background image, nothing happened. I changed the template, nothing still.
I have turned off the cache, cleared it as well. As per the article, I have cross-checked that all the needed publishing parameters are as they should be.
I am wondering if any one has experienced something similar to this, and I look forward to hearing suggestions as to how to rectify it.
Thanks

Christianity EtcRe: A different View on COZA Sex Scandal by ichamentor(m): 8:14am On Aug 27, 2013
suredammy: I have read a lot of comments on this issue and I am always amazed by the response from most Nigerian Christians. Can to all see that this goes beyond randy pastors. I think it is a valid question to ask if Christianity is the religion to attain salvation. And before you scream YES IT IS, please just take a moment to reflect. Where is the Ideal Christianity, When Celebrity Pastors just milk and take advantage of church members, all preaching is jeered toward prosperity gospel read MONEY. Where is the fear of God in all these pastors who profess to have higher insight and spiritual levels compared to their congregations? What is that spiritual level? Who and where are those possess it? Is it not all a mirage and farce? I think it is high time we all pondered and think deeply about the credibility of Christianity and not follow dogmatically. Mind you, scandals involving the church and so called MEN OF GOD are not limited to Nigeria (CATHOLIC CHURCH WORLDWIDE READ ANYONE). I doubt it if most Nigerians have even bothered to read about the history of Christianity.
Where is the fear of God, spirituality, Hoping for God reward in heaven, worshiping God alone, Love of God, following his injunction and laws, making sacrifices for their God and not only hoping for material wealth in this world. Christians only choose to follow the Gods laws that suit there whims and self-desires. Where are the Pastors and Christians who abstain from and condemn fornication, embezzlements, bribery, and corruption e.t.c.
God’s true religion is perfect and He will only use righteous men and women to propagate his religion, not these criminals disguise as PASTORS. The truth is clear and falsehood is clear. Whoever chooses to follow the path of falsehood will only have him or herself of blame when he meets his CREATOR. I know most people will abuse me instead of thinking deeply about what I have written, but that doesn’t change or blot the facts and the MOST IMPORTANT OF QUESTIONS; IS CHRISTAINITY THE TRUE RELIGION IN SIGHT OF GOD.
Well, you raised a critical question...but i think you need to evaluate christianity based on what the bible says and not necessarily on how it is practised...the bible says that in the last days many false prophets will abound and some will even deceive the elect...so basicallly, if u look into the bible, you will see that we have been warned of these things that are happening now...so we should not be surprised or deceived...
More importantly, jesus said,"The time comes and now is, when true worshippers of God will worship not ib Jerusalem or in Samaria, but in spirit and in truth"--a bit paraphrased.
Thanks

Good points you have raised here @op...but you failed to point out that there is one common thing inall these examples you outlined...and that is, there was a general knowledge about what had happened..that is, people knew the truth...Mariam and Aaron and the Israelites knew what Moses had done...it was open and there was no attempt to hide it or deny it....So with the other cases you mentioned...So basically, there is a difference here, no matter how little or obscure it may seem

Let me say this. I do not think the merger putting Buhari forth as their candidate will give them the victory at the polls. Forget about all these claims of him being a disciplined, honest and other saintly atributes being attributed to him. In the nigerian political climate, there is no saint.I said it.
Buhari claims he wants to be president because he loves this country. There is nothing wrong with that. But you don't have to rule Nigeria to prove you love her. Considering his age, I think he should be playing a fatherly role in the merger that just emerged. He can put up someone who he trusts can deliver and who nigerians can trust as well, and use his massive influence in the north to garner support and votes for that candidate. Same applies to Tinubu. This will show these guys are really serious about bringing a change to the polity, and not just looking for a way to taste power. Again, i repeat---let national interest prevail over self interests if this coalition will ever work. i won't say more than this.

Abrantie: Why is this front page? You guys played a team full of grand papas and won... big deal. Now your heads are all swollen up thinking you can win this tournament. Let me break it down like this -- first get past Mali and then meet the greatest team in all of Africa -- GHANA BLACK STARS!!
Bros, cool down.As they say, football is not about talking, football is 90mins plus extra time. Yes, we are happy we are in the semi-finals,and that does not translate to being proud. So, don't be a wet blanket. Thank you
PoliticsRe: Blame Jonathan For Nigeria’s Woes – Obasanjo by ichamentor(m): 12:25am On Feb 03, 2013
OBJ bears the ultimate blame for nigeria's woes. Not only did he sit over the affairs of this country for 8 good years as a civilian president, he also foisted the duo of Yar'Adua and GEJ on us. If he should be sincere with himself, he should really be apologizing to Nigerians now.

ComputersRe: System Requirements Thread: Can My PC Run It? by ichamentor(m): 12:02am On Jan 24, 2013
saxywale: I disagree.... I use the same system as yours, mine is Icore3. It's very silent even when I am running large programs that eats up ram. PES 2012 and AutoCAD 2010 runs flawlessly on it without noise or excessive heat. It's currently serving me well with no issues at all.

Before that I used pavillion dv6000 on Vista. This has no issues at all as well. It's still working fine till date.

Before the pavilion, I used an Hp omnibook XE3 for over 5years. Its operation is cool as well and served me all through my uni days. I remember finalist tech students always begging to borrow it for their seminars and defense. It was so reliable and strong.

So I have never had any issues with hp laptops in the last 13 years that I have been using them. Maybe cos they were all bought in the UK or yours could be the types produced for middle east and Africa , I do not know. I bought 2branded Dell desktop in between those years and they both failed me within 2years of use.
well,i guess it is different strokes for different folks, as they say. Just that I cannot explain why that would be the case.I was scared at first when i noticed the anomaly, but when i googled the issue and found several people with similar cases, i had to give assume this was more of a general issue from the company, maybe a new technical issue. i bought mine in moscow, by the way
ComputersRe: System Requirements Thread: Can My PC Run It? by ichamentor(m): 7:47pm On Jan 23, 2013
I don't strongly recommend anyone buying an HP laptop. Don't get me wrong. I use an HP laptop myself. But I have noticed that HP laptops generally have heating and noise problems. In fact, the noise is so annoying you will think someone is using a mini generator somewhere. And please note, most of the people I stay with here are having the same problems. I even checked online(just google it) and was surprised that this was more of a general problem, and not just peculiar to me.
Now,I am even thinking of returning the system for servicing because the guaranty is still there.

You see why I don't advise anyone to get an HP.

##I use HP Pavillion dv6 6.00gb ram, 500gb HD##
