@harveyspec...yeah we can relate with your story...Had this gf once..she was our first too...Known her since 2003 even though we've had ups and downs yet...But anyways in the said relationship, we was the active one, always showing the love, spicing and shaking things up (once we travelled 300 km and back (twice) on her birthday)...She was the passive one, sometimes very passive, soaking it all up and at some point aching for it.....pissed off at the whole arrangement,ourselves....Relationships like that can be exhausting, tis like looking after a needy child and like a needy child we realised the poor girl was just a lamb...very inexperienced though eager to learn but slow and not bothered sometimes...Also we realised our active role had helped cement her bond to us..she loved us and was totally committed in her own way like you wouldn't believe and we couldn't ask for anything less than that(forget passive). The problem with us guys is that when we have something good going on,we tire and speculate if we can get something better thus we run the danger of losing everything,...We almost did, thank God...don't make that mistake.

Hmmm ok.
Thanks a lot.

Babayosisi really tired. She still ended up with a very wonderful person. All heads at not the same. Like my father use to tell us, we are 4 girls and just a boy. He would always say we shouldn't look at the fact that my sister married a well to do man and say we must do same. He would say we should forget the fact that we are from one parent because we all have different heads and destinies, Herz you might meet a carpenter trust me his progress might start from you and it might be after you even marry him so always be who you are and look down on nobody. I always have that at the back of my mind.

Lakes is every woman's dream and the tot of dad's NO scares me.
We are not here to cast a negative light on your dreams with lekan we just want to see things through your father's eyes as regards his disapproval so that you can get a little idea of his motives and fears. But we glad he's going to see your father at least that should count for something, who knows? Your dad could inexplicably just consent.....maybe because he's friend's wife-battering yoruba son-in-law didn't do what lekan is about to do thus a jinx could be broken and he's good with your yoruba boyfriend....we are praying for you. My country man shocked by hook or sinker shocked shocked

I will never call her father names because he is her father and I respect him as much as I will respect my own father. Yet, I won't agree with his tribal fears just the way his own daughter does not agree with him on this issue, however, it doesn't take anything away from our understanding of why he has taken that position but still for us, real character and true love should override tribal fears.

So I empathise with people of your generation who should know better and strive towards changing things for the better but instead, are turning out worse than our parents. Nothing can be more sickening than that my dear.
Sad enough people of your generation stick their heads into sand like ostrichs just to avoid the real troubles permeating the Nigerian society which in a smaller extent can affect social relationships especially intertribal which includes injustice, oppression, discrimination etc...your generation keep waxing lyrics of true character and a laughable thing known as true love when it suits you in this case,we wonder where was your true character and true love when her father was a witness to the brutality his friend's daughter faced in her intertribal marriage,we guess if she had come here before her marriage your answer would have been "true love and character". But you and i know otherwise...forget these women and their emotional thought processes which can easily be manipulated by us men including her father and lekan ....You just want your country man to score, damn the consequences including true love and character. You are the tribal bigot here, not him.

He means well for his daughter and he just needs some bit of conviction to change his mind.
You're now being hypocritical because you want (hook or crook) your country man to marry the girl, you stylishly avoided calling her father a tribal bigot but you accuse us of the same thing the father is keen on to avoid the predicament of his friend's daughter.......See your life.
FamilyRe: Babyosisi's Marital Advice To New And Intended Wives by ichidodo: 12:49pm On Feb 19, 2015
Kimoni:
No doubt you are a tribal bigot yourself. Your advice would hurt the poor girl more than the encouragement and enlightenment she needs. But it's her life and her choices finally.
It only takes a tribal bigot to read meaning into every little innocent gestures....If a man-how much more a seasoned police investigator- is a tribal bigot for looking out for his own daughter then let him be,afterall tis his daughter and his experience that matter..Not ours...And we don't see how our encouragement can help change his mind either.…It is not as if you would practice what you preach if you was in his shoes. Interesting!

You are actually comparing Western marriages to a particular airliner with a history of air crasheshuh Which a mother will never allow her daughter to get into no matter the "external facade" it displays?

You've got a lot of things twisted, right?
You can bring your own analogy to dispute it instead of rhetorics....
FamilyRe: Babyosisi's Marital Advice To New And Intended Wives by ichidodo: 11:39am On Feb 19, 2015
Kimoni:
Because he can guarantee that the particular Igbo man she will bring will be a sainthuh Since the conclusion is that all men from the West are criminals and wife beaters.
That is his daughter not yours and those are his paternal instincts, observing very well that no yoruba man has gotten that level of police investigative experience in igboland to take a wild guess if we are saints or not.We will leave that to our cultural value system....
FamilyRe: Babyosisi's Marital Advice To New And Intended Wives by ichidodo: 11:22am On Feb 19, 2015
Kimoni:
We are still saying the same thing bro, from his vast experience, he has only met criminals and wife beaters from the West and non from the East where he wants her to marry from, every Igbo man is a saint so his stand on her relationship is well justified and should not be questioned. True love doesn't matter here at all!!! Smh
Not every igbo man is a saint but the old man including his family will rest easier if birds from the same feather flock together...
