Hmnnnn, I am assuming from your post above, the only bad guys he has seen from his vast experience are from the West, he has never met any criminal from the East and no Igbo man that he has heard of has ever beaten his wife?? Hence, he will never change his mind because of this perception. Really undecided
Her father is a policeman...an experienced investigator who has been in the field since we can remember therefore he's in the best position to judge especially in matters that concerns his flesh and blood, his instincts are well honed over the years and it will be mighty foolish to disregard his inputs because of a whimsical, smokey non tangible feeling called love.....screw blind love...Tell that to a mother trying to explain her wailing 10 year old daughter why she can't get into an airline she loves because of its dodgy safety records(even though it almost claimed the life of her friend's daughter)tell her that aircrashes happen all the time and anywhere as such puttin her daughter on this particular flight wont make a difference never mind giving her peace of mind....goodluck with that. embarassed cry cry

Speechless.
Ofcourse you should be...our mouth can be very sweet and persuasive if we put it stop chewing nicotine gum for one minute...But in anycase, you should let it percolate in your mind...meditate on it...Look it Babymama for example we can swear that in the middle of her first affair she was sold out on her politician boyfriend and yet by some sorccery and witchcraft she's already had kids for another love up to the point she doesn't miss a chance to eulogise him and we can boldly say she could die for him....If she can be smitten twice then so can you, this time bring it closer home and leave with the blessings of your proud father....just my opinion. Hmmmm. What do I do then?
We know you're in love..you got butterflies around your eyes where it concerns lakes....but you must understand that we all must be very practical to matters such as these instead of being carried away.We must have a third party to look out for us inspite of ourselves. And that includes tribal, religious, domestic and financial matters. Example you was to put your daughter on a flight somewhere..say i don't know....Brazil? and it was common knowledge a particular airliner had experienced a spate of aircrashes recently...would you feel safe taking that risks with your daughter, even though your daughter likes the interior decor or attendants of the commercial airliner?....i don't think so....So you must look into yourself and the possibility that things may not work as planned, play it in your mind so you don't get crushed if dad says no...he loves you..wants the best for you...And we believe he will be crushed if his fears are confirmed. You can have so many loves from all tribes if you set your mind at it....but you can't repair the crushed spirit of a broken father.

Also his friend's daughter married a Yoruba man who eventually turned her into a punching bag. He would beat her till she sometimes faints. He did it to the extent that he killed his baby in her womb and she had to go through major operation twice and to crown it all, he was an armed robber unknown to everybody until he went for a robbery mission and was caught.....I also think its part of it but like I said everybody can't be the same. The Igbo's he wants me to go to, I tried this awka guy but the communion was zero, in fact if I don't move then no communication. I see people's relationship too and I know how it goes. Again everybody can't be the same.

For me I will say its character, who we are and not where we come from.

My night was good thank you. smiley
That's it then...the knotty issue why your dad won't allow you marry your guy...He's a crime fighter, he's seen horrible stuff on his beat that you wouldn't believe...then there is the small matter of a dear friend's daughter beaten to an inch of her life by her yoruba husband...Its no brainer, your guy wont make a dent on popsie's mind even if he brings his family to beg,we believe it will boil down to the point of "over his dead body"..damn. PoliticsRe: Jonathan ‘ll Deploy Soldiers For Elections – Fayose by ichidodo:
Jonathan will be the biggest and most naive fool not to deploy servicemen in this exercise what with the army of ravenous, rabies infected and fetid breathed APC wolves full of bile and hatred loitering about to devour all who don't agree (case in point "barcanista) or vote for them especially in the SW,NE and NC axis...that of SW will be epic by the way, will dearly love to see thieffnubu's face at this development....We don't see how free and fair elections along with safety of electoral officials and voters will be guranteed with out our little green men. PoliticsRe: Poll Shift: We’re In Extra-time, Says Buhari by ichidodo: 8:06am On Feb 18, 2015
Extra time have been known to exhaust teams especially those hitherto with the momentum. And also extra time have also been known to spark teams into resurgence especially when they've been under the cosh over long periods of time.......The masterstroke that was GEJ's doing or the gross ineptitude of INEC as regards this sixweeks extratime has blunted the massive momentum of Buhari's..by now most voters would want to play safe and vote GEJ what with the extensive media campaign in the air and Buhari's bagages gainin massive airtime with the slow realisation of the gross hypocrisy, hostility against contrary opinions-barcanista's travails come readily to mind-,the antics of influencing state inecs into disenfranchising a specific segement of voters and the duplicity in the APC permeating the polity especially the social media. It will be a miracle Buhari doesn't cry the fourth time.

Sleep tight bro, barcanista has always been around. cheesy

Did you hear the wailing that was emanating from the APCHEAT camp? grin

Omo! I hear cry sotay I come begin think say Buhari dun die. grin
They are pained and are furious by the turn of events..we foresee bacca getting deaththreats in the coming days (because we have too) especially if GEJ wins this election because most will point at this epochal time as the moment it all came tumbling down for the APC in social media never mind Nairaland.
PoliticsRe: APC Is Now Dead On Nairaland! by ichidodo: 11:20pm On Feb 17, 2015
At least we all can breath easy in the coming days...we have to admit in the past months Barca caused serious damage to the PDP network, fortunately most of us (good samaritans) were on hand to salvage and repair the situation heck it even got to a point someone quoted this to us"at the rate you are going you fit stop flood with your hand" in the heat of an APC frontpage article..that flood -the sheer force of buhari's popularity on NL and in greater extent, social media-came about solely via barcanista. We have done a good job stemmin it and with the postponement of the election inaddition to Barca's resignation, we envisage the damn flood to have become nonexistent before the d-day.APC e-goats like their demi god Buhari shot themselves in the teeth by this gaffe, we must pounce now the iron is soft and grab Nairaland by the scruff of the neck....we still don't trust barcanista, even though we admire him as much we loath to admit it.
