Christianity Etc › Re: How To Keep Your Man Only For Yourself. by ichuka(m): 3:59pm On Mar 26, 2017
OP
Is correct,RESPECT!I would add in total submission to the Husband in every area.
Disrespectful/ unsubmissive women are the major cause of discord in the family.
It all started in the begining(so it's not new) in genesis.Eve leaving her position and trying to the the position of her husband as the head.what happened at the end?there was a discord between man and His God,leading to eviction from a place of abundance to a land of desolation.
Remember Adam was not deceived.he knew the fruit was poison(OP focus is Eve)
Eve should have consulted her husband who is the head before she ate but she didn't,that shows lack of Respect, submission to her husband.
Christianity Etc › The Law Of Travail. by ichuka(op): 3:17pm On Mar 26, 2017
"Unto the woman he [God] said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children... And unto Adam he said... cursed is the ground for thy sake; in toil (sorrow) shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; ...in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread" (Genesis 3:16,17,19).
"The creation was subjected to vanity... For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain..." (Romans 8:20,22).

The presence of the law of travail in the whole creation is beyond dispute. That it was something imposed by the Creator because of sin is a fundamental truth of the Bible. That it is something not in the first thought of God, but something running counter to man's nature, is common experience. But we are left to draw from God's act and the Bible's teaching the meaning and necessity of travail. What that meaning is lies at the heart of this present meditation.

It can be put very precisely in this way: What costs little is little valued. What comes easily is let go easily. What we suffer over becomes precious. What we labour for is not despised, but jealously guarded. And so on.

That brings us to a surmise and a deduction as to the introduction of this law. But note, the law was not established with partiality. Not only was the woman to be subjected to it, but man also. Then we are told that "the whole creation... travaileth".

The surmise and deduction to which we are brought is that the behaviour of Adam and Eve in the garden implied or indicated a serious lack of reverence and esteem. Everything was made for them and given to them as a trust and a responsibility. They were the custodians of Divine interests. Nothing was an end in itself; all was full of glorious potentialities, to be sacredly guarded and let out to full realisation. It would seem that all was taken too much for granted and as a matter of course. An adequate and governing sense of values was lacking, and they just looked upon everything in the light of how it served their pleasure. This weakness and lack was fully exploited by the discerning tempter, and was made the ground of his assault. Hence, the law of travail was established to counter this disposition. Man must be made to realise that God places a value upon His gifts, and that everything in His mind is costly and precious. What we are not prepared to suffer for we lightly esteem. This is surely and so clearly seen in redemption. Whether it be basic redemption in the Cross of Christ, or the progressive redemption in the Christian's life, or the consummation of redemption in the 'creation's deliverance from the bondage of corruption', and the 'manifestation of the sons of God', all is at very great cost and through deep and anguished travail. Christ sees His seed through the travail of His soul. The Church and true Christians come to spiritual fulness through "the fellowship of his sufferings". The creation itself will come to glory through great upheavals and anguish. The Bible says and shows all this.......

Not possible.

Yes...He will complete that good work...but we must continue abiding in Him and allowing Him to do so. He is not a God of force.
My Sis,
There's nothing like force here.we died in Christ remember?
The Holy Spirit is suppose to be in charge of our life's now,so there's no need of force or our own will and thoughts.

Ok...I read it once. I'll need to re-read it though...cause there's lot of info here.
Also in Philippians 1:6New International Version (NIV)
6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Philippians 1:6 says that God has begun a good work in us. Since God has started it and has given us salvation Himself, He must complete this work until the day of Christ Jesus. We must remember that the work of God never stops halfway. He will complete this work until the day of Christ Jesus, that is, until God glorifies us. We can see how far-reaching is God's Word, how wide its scope, how long it lasts, and how deep its roots. Verse 6 says, "Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun in you a good work will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus." Either God will not start, or He will have to finish what He has started. If God was not willing to save us, that would be the end of the story. But if God's desire is to save us, there will be no way for us not to be saved. Therefore, we can say, "God, we thank and praise You, because our salvation is eternally secure." If it were up to us to follow up, we would fail. The work of following up is accomplished by Him; the work of preservation is also accomplished by Him. We can never follow up what He has started.

Thanks brother. Sorry but we have a 6 hrs. difference so I might not be on at the time you are...hence the later responses. The time on NL is Nigeria's time. Just wanted to make you aware...if you weren't.
I'm on now....will leave and then come back later.
But you can begin.
Ok,
Romans 8:29 says, "Those whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son." Verse 30, a parenthetical word, says, "And those whom He predestinated, these He also called; and those whom He called, these He also justified; and those whom He justified, these He also glorified." The salvation that we are talking about involves all the things covered in verses 29 and 30. The history of our salvation began with justification in verse 30. We were saved at the time that we were justified. We only know that we have believed in Jesus and that we have been saved and justified. We think that justification is our first encounter with God. We think that the first time we touched God in our life was when we were justified. But the Bible says that God touched us long ago. He knew us long ago.Our justification came afterwards.God's knowledge of us came first. Some have said that Romans 8:29-30 is the only chain in the entire Bible. It is a chain of different rings linked together. This is a most precious and complete chain. The first ring of this chain is God's foreknowledge of man. The second ring is our predestination to be conformed to the image of His Son. The third ring is the calling of those who have been predestinated. The fourth ring is the justification of those who have been called. The fifth ring is the glorification of those who have been justified. It is a series of rings linked to one another. We think that we first knew God when we were saved and justified. But the Bible says that before we were saved and justified, God knew us already. Those whom God knew long ago, He marked out. To be marked out means to have a check mark put by our name, indicating that He has claimed us for Himself. For what purpose were we marked out? It is so that we would be like His unique Son, Jesus Christ. He not only wants one Son, Jesus Christ; He came to mark us out so that we would be identical to His Son. Those who were marked out are called. The ones who are called are known by Him. He called the ones whom He knew and marked out. After He called them, He justified them.
we have to know that the history of our relationship with God does not start from justification and salvation. Rather, it starts from God's foreknowledge. God's foreknowledge is the beginning of everything. To be marked out is the second step. To be called is the third step. Only after the third step do we have justification. If we were to lose our justification and become sinners again, we would put a question mark on God's omniscience. Since God foreknew us and marked us out, how can we still perish after we are saved? A person predestinated by God can never be thrown into hell and burned like a piece of wood.In addition, there is another item. The Lord says, "Those whom He justified, these He also glorified" (v. 30). Unless God brings those whom He justified into glory, His work is not complete. If we cannot get into the new heaven and the new earth, and if we cannot enter into eternal glory, God's work is not complete. The last ring of God's work is glory. Until we are inglory, God's work is notcomplete. This is God's Word. What are we going to do with it? We cannot set it aside. God says that those whom He justified will enter into glory unconditionally. He does not say that those who are justified will enter into glory if they have good works. He does not say that only those whose works are approved can enter into glory. Neither does God say that those whom He justified must also be considered saved by man before they can enter into glory. There are no such conditions. All of the things that are mentioned here are related to God. It is God who foreknew. It is God who predestinated. It is God who destined us to be like His Son and to be conformed to the image of the Son of God. It is God who has called us and justified us. It is God who will bring us, the justified ones, into glory. It is also God who will bring us into the new heaven and the new earth to inherit the eternal glory.

Thanks....what I was trying to do was let it wear off without any medication...and it has. I appreciate your concern. So you do believe that salvation can be lost? Or should the wording be different?
Thank God you are ok now.
It's not possible for a true believer to lose his/her Salvation.
Roms8:28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, whoi have been called according to his purpose. 29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
Go through the above verses in Roman and tell me how someone called into Gods Devine purpose can be lost.
That's someone He FOREKNEW,PREDESTINED,CALLED,JUSTIFIED and GLORIFIED can lose his/her Salvation.
Let's start there.

Christianity Etc › Re: I Think Church Services Are Making Me Lose Faith In Religion by ichuka(m): 12:59pm On Mar 13, 2017
Driiimzzz:
First things first: I am a Christian in the basic understanding that I try to emulate Jesus and act like he would in today's day and age; and I also follow the two commandments of love that he gave us.

That being said there is something that just annoys me with churches like Dunamis. From the so-called testimonies that people give of seeing demons in dreams to be visited by the Head Pastor in their sleep to the over-dramatic oh-I-just-fell-because-of-the-anointing. Or maybe the ridiculous "miracles" - today's special was a girl who apparently wears super-strength glasses for her myopia. There is a way people look when they wear such glasses and this girl looked like she hadn't ever worn even a cheap pair of sunglasses. Or even the preaching that is so short and boring and repetitive every bloody week.

Can someone please recommend a better church before I just decide to not abandon Sunday services in all? Also, posters that may try to make posts of how my soul should be saved, please don't. My soul is my concern alone not yours
John4:21“Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Yes,the gift of Salvation is Enternal Life.but the Kingdom is for work.for a 100years Reign.after the reign every believer will be equal(those that qualify to reign with Christ and those disqualified)
Just like after 4years the president of Nigeria becomes a Norma citizen with others.

MZLady39:
Yes...a Christian can lose his/her salvation.
It's popoularly preached, "once saved, always saved".
That is lie from the enemy...and is deceiving many Christians.
The price of salvation has been paid through Jesus' blood on the cross. He has redeemed mankind and that cannot be reversed.
However, if one decides to continue deliberately living a sinful life, then he/she should not expect to enter the eternal Kingdom (Romans 6:1, Gal. 6:7, 1 Cor 6:9).
If it were as simple as accepting Christ with no conditions, then why did He die? We have to be obedient to His standards.
Hmmm!!
My Sis
We shouldn't mixup Eternal Life and the Kingdom of God.
One is purely of Grace, while the other demands work.
A Christain cannot lose his Salvation which is free of charge(a gift)
But he/she can be denial entry into the Kingdom of God.
The book of Mathew focus on the Kingdom, while the book of John is on Enternal Life mostly.
Let me give you an Analogy of both.
My surname is Chuka,I am Chuka because I was born a Chuka(that's liken to been Born Again).whatsoever I do,either good or bad am still a Chuka.
If I decide to work and become the LG Chiarman/Governor/President of Nigeria tomorrow which will be for 4years(That's like entering the Kingdom of God which will be for a 1000years Rev20:6-7)
Fact remains I am a Chuka whether I work or not.
Christianity Etc › The Power That Worketh In Us. by ichuka(op): 4:35pm On Mar 12, 2017
All glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. (Ephesians 3:20 NLT)

Any power that can survive what we sometimes have to go through in the realm of our own souls is a very great power indeed; and, believe me, this power that works in the Church is going to survive all the accumulated sensations of all the members of the Body of Christ.

Now, bring all your misery together, bring all your despair together, all your sensations, all the helplessness of the outlook, and, if you are a child of God, there is a power that works within which is more than sufficient to meet and counter and triumph over all that. That is the means by which God reaches His end in us, and if His end in us is conformity to the image of His Son, then the power that worketh in us is more than enough to meet and overcome all that which is contrary to His Son in us. Do you believe that? Not always! If we really believed that in a thoroughgoing way we should never be found occupied with ourselves, we should never be depressed because of our imperfection, there would be no room for any question as to our standing. Oh, if we did but believe this, what triumphant people we should be; for is it not true that the greater proportion of our trouble, of our despair, of our unhappiness, is due to the consciousness of our own imperfection – all that we are that we would not be and should not be, and all that we are not that we feel we ought to be. His eternal purpose and His exceeding great power are linked together. Do not forget that. We are the object of both, and His exceeding great power is at work within us to effect the purpose.

Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered.Hebrew5;8
The above verse stated that Christ learnt Obedience when He came as a Man.meaning that obedience was not formally constituted in the GodHead.
So creation He started in Genesis was actually concluded on the Cross of Calvary when He said "It Is Finish"
