OLAADEGBU:By believing in the death and resurrection of our Lord |
thesicilian:The bible is very clear on these issue. Any contrary opinion is outside the scriptures. |
When we read Judges and see the strength of Samson, it becomes clear to us that the Holy Spirit can bestow great strength upon man's body.Although Samson did many immoral things and although the Holy Spirit may not necessarily give this great strength to every believer, one thing is certain: if we depend upon His indwelling, we will always obtain His strength to supply all of our daily needs. |
Lifeislife:Same relevance the Bridegroom has with His Bride.you get?? |
PROPHETmichael:Stop adding to the scriptures.i believe you know the consequence in regards Job been a tither. 1.your first point, wrong again.been faithfull has nothing to do with tithing in regards to the book of Job. 2.whats the connection with his sacrifice and tithing?Dude stop adding. 3.dude,you don't even know why the story of Job was added nor the lesson it portrays You need to study the book properly. So OP is The Church equal to Christ? Just asking. |
Old earth(Gen1/1) and the new earth begins at(Gen1:3) There core difference is Man!! |
plappville:Bless God Greetings to All |
FortuneTeller:Lol |
Let me add In regards to Saul as mentioned by the OP,the Will of God that results to Obedience was opposite to his acts.the Will of God was "kill all" which he DISOBEYED by his acts of presumed "good gesture" towards God.and God can't have that.He values His Will(Obedience) more than His Works(Sacrifice) but if His Will and Works are one we are good, just as His Will(Obedience) and Works/Cup in the Life of our Lord were One!! |
sonofthunder:Dude Read my other posts on this thread, maybe then you know where am coming from. |
Obedience relates to Gods Will/Authority while Sacrifice to His acts. Our Lord’s prayer in Gethsemane is the highest expression of Obedience to God’s authority. Our Lord’s Obedience to God’s authority far exceeds His sacrifice on the cross. He earnestly sought to know God’s will. He did not say, “I will take the cross” or “I must drink the cup.” He only heeded and obeyed. He said, “If it is possible, let this cup pass from Me” (Matt. 26:39b). Here His own preference is not seen, because following this, He said, “Yet not as I will, but as You will” (v. 39c). God’s will is absolute, but the cup (i.e., the cross) is not. If it had not been God’s will for Him to be crucified, our Lord Jesus very well could have disregarded the cross. Before our Lord was clear concerning God’s will, the “cup” and “God’s will” were two different things. But after He was clear, the “cup” became the “cup” that the Father had given to Him, and it and God’s will became one thing. A will is the representative of an authority. Hence, when Obedience comes from knowing God’s will, that Obedience is a Obedience to authority. |
OLAADEGBU:It can't,must be changed Ezi36:26..I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. |

Luke10:38As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” 41“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42but few things are needed—or indeed only one.f Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” One day as our Lord came to a certain village, a sister named Martha received Him into her home. She loved our Lord and wanted to do many things for Him in order to please Him. She did this and that; she prepared this thing and that thing. She did many things, but then she became disturbed. Not only was she disturbed, she also worried about many things, and her mind was troubled. Martha, like those who are ill at ease, sought to blame others by going to the Lord and saying, "Lord, does it not matter to You that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to do her part with me" (Luke 10:40). But the Lord answered, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things; but there is need of one thing, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her" (vv. 41-42). Oh, the Lord said that only one thing is needed! Martha did many things, but the Lord said that there was need of only one thing. We plan one thing after another and do one thing after another. It seems that we have planned many things and done much, yet there is need of only one thing! There are not many needful things; there is only one thing which is needful! Brothers and sisters, what is the one thing that is needful? It is nothing other than Christ Himself—this is what Mary chose. We can have this needful thing only by sitting quietly before the Lord as Mary did. Every Christian should work, and it is wrong if anyone does not work. The Bible tells us that the man who will not work should not eat (2 Thes. 3:10). We should work diligently. However, we often find no rest within when we work; we may even feel that we have forgotten the Lord. Sometimes we are so busy from morning till evening that we do not find time for prayer or Bible reading before the Lord. When we labor, do some spiritual work, or give assistance to a brother or sister, our motive is for the Lord, yet eventually we become distracted; our heart is disturbed. The problem is that there are too many things that cause us to forget the Lord and let Him go. Let us listen to the Lord, who is telling us that only one thing is needful! This very thing is to have rest in the Lord and to be content in Him. |
The function of the Prophets(both in the old and New Testament)has almost invariably been that of Recovery. That implies that his business related to something LOST.That something being absolutely essential to God's full satisfaction, the dominant note of the Prophets was one of dissatisfaction. And, there being the additional factor that, for obvious reasons, the people were not disposed to go the costly way of God's full purpose, they are usually an unpopular. But there unpopularity was no proof of his being wrong or unnecessary, for every Prophet was eventually vindicated, If it be true that prophetic ministry is related to the need for the recovery of God's full thought as to His people, surely this is a time of such need! Few honest and thoughtful people will contend that things are all well with the Church of Christ today. A brief comparison with the first years of the Church's life will bring out a vivid contrast between then and the centuries since. Take alone the lifetime of one man - Paul. In the year 33 A.D. a few unknown men, looked upon as poor and ignorant, were associated with one 'Jesus of Nazareth' - which very designation was despicable in the minds of all reputable and influential people. These men, after that Jesus had been crucified, were later found seeking to proclaim His Lordship and Saviourhood, but were handled hardly by all official bodies. In the year that Paul died - 67-68 A.D. (34 years later) - how did the matter stand? There were churches in Jerusalem, Nazareth, Caesarea; Antioch and all Syria; Galatia; Sardis, Laodicea, Ephesus and all the towns on the West coast throughout lesser Asia; in Philippi, Thessalonica, Athens, Corinth, and the chief cities of the islands and the mainland of Greece; Rome, and the Western Roman Colonies; and in Alexandria. The history of generations of missionary enterprise, tens of thousands of missionaries, vast sums of money, immense administrative organizations, and much more on the publicity, propaganda, and advocacy side, does not compare at all favourably with the above!!We now find ourselves confronted by the end of the whole system of world missions and professional missionaries as they have existed for a very long time, and still the world is not EVANGELIZED!! Is there a reason for these? The answer is not to be found in the realm of zeal or devotion to the salvation of souls. Rather is it this: that there was at the beginning the supreme factor of an absolutely original and new apprehension of Christ and God's eternal purpose concerning Him. This revelation by the Holy Spirit came with devastating and revolutionising power to the Apostles and the Church, and, rather than being a 'tradition handed down from the FATHERS;a ready-made system, all set and entered into as such, it was, for every one of them, as though it had only newly dropped from heaven - which, in fact, was true. To bring into view this full purpose of God was the essence of the Prophet's ministry, and will always be so. We may not now speak of a special class as 'Prophets', but the function may still be operative, and it is function that matters more than office. |
Salvation is free; it is not obtained through man’s work. It is God who has GRACED us. We are not saved through any merit of our own. We can look at a few verses from the Bible: "Ho! Everyone who thirsts [the sinners], / Come to the waters [God’s salvation], / And you who have no money [merits, righteous acts, etc.]; / Come, buy and eat [every sinner can believe and be saved]; / Yes, come, buy wine and milk [the joy of salvation] / Without money and without price [without righteous acts and without goodness in oneself]" (Isa. 55:1). "The gift of God" (John 4:10). "But the gift of God is eternal life" (Rom. 6:23). "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God; not of works that no one should boast" (Eph. 2:8-9). "Not out of works in righteousness which we did but according to His mercy He saved us" (Titus 3:5). "Let him who wills take the water of life freely" (Rev. 22:17). We should pay attention to the above verses. These verses, and many others which i have not quoted, prove that our salvation is free. It does not come about through our work or our righteous acts. We are saved through the grace of God. All there is for us to do is to believe in God’s gift of grace, that is, in God’s free gift. We must be very clear about this. The work of salvation is completely accomplished for us by the Lord Jesus. He died on the cross to accomplish our salvation. If we want to be saved and have eternal life now, we do not need to have any more work or to accumulate any merit. All that is needed is for us to believe and to receive. None of our good deeds are acceptable before God. In the whole New Testament, there are over one hundred fifty times(150+)where it says that we receive salvation by believing or that we receive eternal life by believing. God never lies to us. He says, "Believe, believe, believe." When we believe, we are saved, have eternal life, and are justified. This is free. "God gave to us eternal life and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life" (1 John 5:11-12). According to the Word of God, everyone who receives the Lord Jesus as Savior by faith has eternal life. Truly, "He who believes into the Son has eternal life" (John 3:36). The minute we believe, we have it! But reward is different. It is different from gift. Reward is not given for free. It is obtained through good works. Reward is given according to the saints’ work. We can look at the following verses: "My reward is with Me to render to each one as his work is" (Rev. 22:12). This is a word to the church (see v. 16). "Each will receive his own reward according to his own labor" (1 Cor. 3: ."Whatever you do, work from the soul as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as recompense....For he who does unrighteously will receive what he unrighteously did" (Col. 3:23-25). "Now to the one who works, his wages are not accounted according to grace, but according to what is due" (Rom. 4:4). I can quote many other verses, but these few are sufficient to prove to us that reward does not come freely. According to the teaching of the Bible, we can see that reward is awarded according to the good works of the believers. Whether it be as small as a cup of cold water (Matt. 10:42), or as hidden as a counsel of the heart (1 Cor. 4:5), or a humble service (Mark 10:43), or a suffering for the Lord (Luke 6:22), all these are opportunities for reward. Hence, according to the Bible, what is set before man is two goals. While we were sinners, our goal was to be saved. After we are saved and have become believers, our goal is to receive the reward. Salvation is prepared for the Sinners.Reward is prepared for the Believers.A man should first receive salvation and then seek after the reward. The perishing ones need salvation. The saved ones need the reward. After reading 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 and Philippians 3:12-14, we see that some believers will not receive the reward. In those two passages, Paul was speaking of the question of reward rather than of salvation. Paul knew very well that he was saved. In his Epistles, he often expressed that he was a saved person, but in these two passages, he showed us what he was pursuing after he was saved. He was pursuing after the reward. At that time, he could not say for sure yet that he would receive the reward. He was still seeking after it. A sinner should seek for salvation, while a believer should seek for reward. |
..That in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ. (Ephesians 1:10) There is one comprehensive and all-embodying truth which, if it really gained the complete mastery of our hearts and dominated our whole consciousness, capturing our will, our hearts, and our minds, would really revolutionize everything, just as the new covenant represents a revolution from the old covenant. The great truth which embodies everything is this: that God has determined that nothing which is not Christ shall remain, and He is working toward that end, on the one hand to rid this universe of everything that is not Christ; on the other hand to fill this universe with that which is Christ. That means that God does not accept or recognize anything whatever that is not Christ. Then again, it means that God puts His seal upon what is Christ, and it is all a matter of the measure of Christ. It is a tremendous thing when that really does come to our hearts with the force and the power which it really does represent. It explains everything of God's dealings with us. It gives us the key to our problems. It sets us at once upon the highway of God's own purpose. |

.The Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God. (Colossians 2:19) In God's sight the believer is one in whom Christ is implanted, and God never looks at Christ in a limited way. He always looks at Him in an absolute way, and when Christ is implanted at the beginning of our life it is not as though God implanted Him in a fragmentary way. God's thought was that the end should be bound up with the beginning, and that Christ should be All and in all. That is why conversion is never an end in itself. It is only the first step toward the full end of God. It defines the nature of the believer in God's sight, that it is of Christ. You cannot make that. No decision cards can accomplish that. You can never make men and women Christians by inviting them to make certain decisions, to assent mentally to certain propositions of Christian doctrine,NO! There has to be something which constitutes in that individual, right at the very center of the being, a living union with Christ, and a deposit of Christ. Anything other than that is a false conversion. It is the depositing of Christ at the very center of the being, with a view to His spreading to the very circumference, that is the nature of a believer.... Recently,We see the Pathetic Hopelessness of trying to propagate anything by Organized means and Methods which really is all of God. It simply has to grow, it simply has to be. but when it is so it is mighty, it is indestructible, it is incorruptible. Nothing can stand in the way of Christ. It is that which rouses hell and the energies of the Devil. He does not mind all the other: doctrine, work, profession. That may often serve his ends as a great deception and misrepresentation; but bring Christ in, bring Christ through, realize Christ, and then you meet every force in this universe which is antagonistic to Christ. |
Joagbaje:When he foretell Payl future did Paul obey his instructions?NO,because he Paul has the indwelling Spirit to teach and direct him in all his path. A prophet is a prophet yes,but there functions in the church has change since the INTERMEDIARY CLASS was abolish at Calvary. |
Joagbaje:Eph4:11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. These is the work of the prophets and co.to build up the body of Christ by feeding believers the expounded word of God.thas what Paul and other Apostles did. Not fortelling witches in ones village and merchandising spiritual GIFTS. |
Joagbaje:John14:26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I hav1john2:26 I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. 27As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him. We are no longer in the INTERMEDIARY CLASS of the Old Testament where the God will be at one side His children at the opposite direction and some self proclaimed prophet will be interceding between God and His children,No!! Bible said that the indwelling Spirit will teach us ALL THINGS. Any prophet/pastor standing inbetween Him and His children (foretelling stories of witch and wizard in there houses etc)is commiting a serious crime in His presence.by trying to take the position of the indwelling Spirit.its a gravious crime and most of them don't know. |
