I'll soon get an 8gb ram hp, core i7. Hope that's okay? Ps: it's not brand new.

Bruv thanks for putting me on a pedestal I've not yet attained. grin You do well o. I'm a green horn in programming and I'm still in a dilemma as to whether to go into web dev or data analytics. You can help me choose. Las las I go do both. The notable name in the DS field in this section is Ejio.d, I think. You can go check out his thread on data science.

Data science has a higher bar of entry compared to say, web development. A data scientist in most cases must have a PhD in Maths, statistics or related disciplines to be considered for employment.

Data visualization analysis on the other hand can be mastered in say, a year. Though candidates with a Bsc in STEM fields have a better chance at employment compared to self-taught individuals.

Data visualization is all about the representation of raw data in a way that clients can make sense of it. This discipline utilizes softwares like Tableau, Powerbi, D3, advanced Excel as well as programming languages like python and R in the creation of interactive dashboards which present data in a way it can easily be analysed and inferred from.

DS and visualization has a steep learning curve. You must love the numbers. You live and die and communicate with numbers every day. So if you do love the numbers, it can be real fun. To build your portfolio, go on Kaggledotcom and solve data challenges and also enroll in data analytics competitions. Do a lot of data projects and build creative models and techniques.

I think a DS expertise can land you a six figure salary anually(dollars o) and Data scientists and analysts are sought after all over the world. With the advent of Big data, machine learning, and AI, data is the future. It ain't going away anytime soon. Boom!

Expertly written. Thanks

@bolded
After seeing that kind of figure, you'll still tell me not to go into the field because of the money. grin grin grin grin

Had same problem. I downloaded a lower version of python and voila. I don't mind since I am still leaning. That could help
Wow which version exactly did you download?

Firstly, 1gb is not a big file.
Yeah. Depending on OS that came with your system. If it windows 8, get a new windows 8 disk , #200 at any computer accessory shop. And re install i.e format your system. But if you can't pay around 1500 to engineers to that for you.

If you have important document on your disk, simply load the new windows on the disk I.e do not format the harddisk during the process of re installing the windows8.

Beep me if you're not clear.
It's Windows 7. Is Windows 8 better?

If I get you right, I should just get a new Windows disk and install. I recently changed the hard disk so I don't have important files on it for now.

I had issues with my hard disk. Had to buy a new one. I'm trying to install python on the system now but it's not just working. I get a message saying Windows service pack 1 needs to be installed. I've downloaded several from the net very large files up to 1gb but none of them installed as they were not compatible. One didn't even run sef.

Guys, pls what's the way out?

Hello.

These are the books, automate the boring stuff by Al steigwart, A Crash course in Python by mathes. Google search these books and download them.

On YouTube, search for mosh hamedani, you would find a 6hr python video he did.
Madam, happy new year o. Hope you've been enjoying python

I didn't see this earlier.

Number 10;

for row in range(4):
shape = " "
for column in range(20):
shape += "*"
print(shape)

Number 11;

for row in range(1, 5):
shape = ""
for column in range(1, 21):
if row == 1 or row == 4 or column == 1 or column == 20:
shape += "*"
else:
shape += " "
print(shape)

Number 12;

output = " "
for items in range(5):
shape += "*"
print (shape)

You can wrap it all up, in a function definition like that my bro did above, so the user can input whatever values they want to. I didn't want to do that because maybe you've not learnt functions yet?

I'd like to see your friend's solutions so I could know if there's another way I could write shorter and cleaner solutions. We're all learning. cool

Also, where did you get the exercises from please?
Seems programmers na. Chai make I rush go read small. grin

Hello!

Yes, I use pycharm mostly, especially for tutorials.

I only got to use Jupyter Notebook for a data project I did because I learnt it was a better choice for data analysis, and rightly so.
Okay, I go hala you later. Hope we can relate on WhatsApp?

The dream is still very much alive! Just the time hasn't been there to focus. I'm rounding up some things I've been working on sha. I'll hit you up soon.

I'm a humble greenhorn, ever ready to learn.

Ideas? Let's not get ahead of ourselves bro, but rather, while working hard to understand this field we are getting into, stay focused and composed, reflecting solemnly on the workings of zeros and ones, bits and bytes and on the power and intelligence of humans who created this behemoth that is software.

In due time, when we are past the greenhorn stage, all things being equal or better, we would get to put heads together, and share ideas which hopefully would birth a global tech heavyweight, impacting human life and humbling us the more. smiley

Okay i get it. Well, I think web dev is really flexible and that's great for freelancing.I just want to get started with it and then expand into other lucrative fields even if it means going on to get a masters degree or diploma in CS.

I'm just super interested in this whole software world; From embedded to data science to mobile apps to games dev.I'll take on as much as I can bro.

I regret why I didn't start earlier, like during my teenage years grin
Hahahaha you want to taste every aspect. grin

I have a friend that started in our teenage years. We started together in fact but I dropped it at a point. Dude is in heavy bucks now. grin

Thanks for calling me here, my man. I'm now more motivated to look into this data science field. E be like say money plenty for theregrin

Off to Google to do more research.

EDIT: I'll do web dev first, to makes some bucks off of freelancing, then I'll do data science on the side, mainly to get a remote job or even for contract freelancing. I don't really like working for people, except maybe international firms cool

I feel like I have a clearer picture of what I wanna do, every time I chat with you lol. What are your plans? smiley
Do you really think it's possible to master Web dev and Data science alongside? I just have a feeling you wouldn't be very rounded in any of two because your energies will be divergent. But then, there are always exceptions to some rules.

I also have plans for web development but I'll start with python/django. Then I'll dive into javascript/php while learning. Meehn I really want to work from home. Freelancing or working remotely for coys. Make man still get time run business. gringrin
It seems you've decided to major in Web dev

I had to bring it here so that we don't derail that thread.
