The message is addressed to the wrong audience. Take it to the Government houses in the SE/SS states. |
Emm Coach what of players like Sonne Aluko that their club got relegated to lower division. And Kenneth Omeruo hu has played in Lower division for abt 3yrs. And are u telling me a player in 1st division in Qatar has a better chance than a player in 2nd division in England and Spain? ![]() |

Following the perceived indignity meted out to the founding national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu by power brokers in the party from the core north, himself, his loyalists are set to dump the ruling party. Already, his loyalist and the Interim National Chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande have inaugurated a pressure group within the party call the Action Group to defend and protect the interest of members of the party from the South West zone. The Action Group, AG was the political party led by late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo in the pre and post independence era. AG was an offshoot of Egbe Omo Oduduwa, a cultural group formed by Awolowo during the struggle for Nigeria’s independence. Nigerian Pilot Sunday gathered from APC South West members that they felt betrayed by the humiliation of Bola Tinubu by members of the party from the core North despite the critical role he played in the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari as the presidential candidate of the APC and the eventual victory of the party in the presidential election. The Tinubu loyalists were said to have critically appraised the recent development in the APC and came to the conclusion that the core North intentionally used Tinubu as ladder to get the presidency which they have been craving for since the death of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua in 2010. It was gathered that as the APC power brokers from the North gradually unfold their hidden agenda against Tinubu, members of the party from the South West loyal to him, held several meetings where they resolved to float an alternative platform in anticipation of their imminent defection from the party. The new pro-Tinubu group, APC-Action Group, made its public media debut on July 5 when they issued a press statement signed by its Spokesman, Segun Dipe, where they defended the position of Bisi Akande over the crisis in the National Assembly. Chief Akande had been criticised for his recent utterances with which he cautioned some party members, whom he accused of trading the party’s birthright and dining with the enemy with a bid to get choice positions. Specifically, he mentioned some northern elites and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP members within the APC as those rocking the party’s boat with indiscipline and disloyalty. APC-AG recalled how Chief Akande had journeyed with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu through thick and thin from the dark and lonely days of the Alliance for Democracy, AD, to the Action Congress, AC, and then Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, before arriving at the APC, only for them to be thrown into the dustbin after they helped the party to upstage PDP. Nigerian Pilot Sunday also gathered that members of APC Action Group are not particularly happy with President Muhammadu Buhari, whom they alleged set the stage for the humiliation of Tinubu during his inauguration when he said he belonged to everybody and belonged to nobody. They said those against Tinubu and the South West within the APC took the phrase as signal and presidential endorsement to opponents of Tinubu to unleash their northern agenda in the ruling party. Members of the APC-Action Group are also said to be suspicious of the role played by the President in the election of Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives, when he stood aloof and watched the agreed candidates of the party, Sen. Ahmed Lawan and Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, upstaged by Senator Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara with the active support of APC leaders from the North led by former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar. Our source disclosed that Tinubu’s loyalists in the APC- Action Group are bidding their time to see if President Buhari “will correct the injustice meted out to Tinubu” when the election of the chairman of the Board of Trustees, BoT, is held on July 20. If Tinubu is compensated with the BoT chairman and at least four ministerial slot they, APC Action Group, will keep their plan to defect in abeyance and watch events unfold in the party, especially as some members of the party are already positioning themselves for 2019 primaries, he further said. terzurum5:I hope this game does nt turn out bad for Nigeria. See how Nigerian football has gone down the drains. Our U23 Team are to play Congo and we are feeling threatened that they are parading 11 foreign based pros. I have always said it that the U23 team is usually closely as good as the senior national Team. If their are no Super Eagles players in the U23 Team then every thing is wrong with both the senior and U23 Teams. In the past at least 30-40% of our U23 have either had a senior team call up or were playing for the senior team. The current U23 is jst too below par. Are there no Super Eagles players that are currently 22yrs or less. Atleast I know of 2: Kenneth Omeruo and Aaaron Samuel. But y Siasia has refused to include these 2 players remains a mistery to me. In 1996 The following players were in the Olympic team as U23s and had already featured for the Super Eagles some both at AFCON and World Cup: Victor Ikpeba, Sunday Oliseh, Austine Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo and Daniel Amokachi. 1n 2000 Olympics also U23 players like: Julius Aghahowa, Pius Ikedia, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, and Celestine Babayaro were already senior team players. Osaze Odemwingie was even the captain of the 2004 Olympics team that failed to qualify for the Olympics. Others in that Olympic team were Femi Opabunmi, Onyekachi Okonkwo, Obinna Nwanneri and Furo Iyeneme all of which had senior team experience. In the 2008 Olympic team Players like Obinna Nsofor, Chinedu Ogbuike Obasi, Taiye Taiwo, Victor Anichebe and Mikel Obi were already senior team players (although Chelsea and Marseille did nt release Mikel and Taiwo respectively for the Olympic proper) So I see no reason y Siasia cannot invite experienced/established Senior players to the current Olympics team. I am just afraid this team is lacking in exposure and experience. It would B a miracle if they overcome Congo after the 2 legs. All those Saviour Godwin, Awoniyi, Sokari and co that the team is banking on have not even started. By the time players like Mikel, Ogbuike, Taiwo, Oliseh, Amokachi, Yakubu name them were playing for U23, they had already played in Champions leagues. Some1 like Kanu had already won the Champions league with Ajax. Celestine was already a Chelsea regular when he played in 2000 Olympics. Daniel Amokachi was the first player ever to score a Champions league goal and that was abt 4 yrs before he even featured for the U23S. Oliseh had featured for Juventus in Champions league. Aghahowa was already a super Eagles point man when he played in 2000 Olympics remember the fantastic goals he scored at AFCON 2000 in Lagos against Senegal? Even the then home based lads in U23 Team of 2004 like Onyekachi Okonkwo, Ogbonna Okemiri, Michael Ochei and Obinna Nwanneri were the back bone of the Enyimba team that won the CAF Champions league in 2003 and 2004. They were so hot, fired and experienced. I know some people will see me as always being a critic of our national teams of late. Trust me I have seen national teams come and go for 3 decades our current crop of footballers/national teams at all levels are nothing to write home about. |
......arrested on July 14 2015 which is today? Is Lagos ahead of other states in time? |
This blame on foreing based players is so irritating. So na make we carry una wey b lower quality home bssed players only abi? As if teams like Mali and Senegal no varry foreign based players. |
hrykanu231:Reminds me of those days when our Dad and mom watched Green Eagles matches with us. ![]() |
God bless Anambra people for nt allowing them in their prison. |
Anything other than Keshi is right for the job. |
Now that you are there: We want only the best players to be invited to the Super Eagles. We dnt want to see an Elkanemi, Abia warriors or Clubless player donning the Super Eagles Jerseys while players with Champions league experience at Chelsea, AS Monaco or Celtic b left out. We dnt want to flood our Super Eagles with faceless players all in the name of building and re-building. We want you to go after Nigerian players with dual or multiple citizenship like Jodon Ibe, Sammy Ameobi, Kennedy Otigba, Bobby Adekanye, Chuba Akpom, Tiago Ilori, Alex Iwobi, Chuks Aneke, Solanke and d rest. We want out of favour players like Brown Ideye, Victor Moses, Victor Anichebe, Ramon Azeez, Imoh Ezekiel, Ejike Uzoenyi, Sunday Mba, Emmanuel Emenike to b given another opportunity. National team selection should be made purely based on merit and nt based on "slot for homebased players" or Geopolitical zoning". Work closely with d U23 coaches to identify talents that are ready for senior team football. Be a part of d crew dat determine match venues for our national teams to ensure we dnt embarras our selves again with horrible venues jst like d one we used against Chad. |
Op is the story abt Ambrose or Alaba? ![]() |
What are u asking if it is right? Is it grammatical blunder of "he don't" or the fact that he doesn't entertain excuses? |
O ti mu dongoyaro, and monkey tail!! ![]() His partner in crime, Olamide too should b cautioned. |
oga Westerhoff anything other dan Keshi will do pls. We are tired of a coach that has so belittled our green and whites jerseys by always fielding mediocres all in d name of always rebuilding But come o.Westerhof is 75yrs now? *Quickly reconstructed time*. He was appointed Green Eagles coach 26yrs ago. Omo men don dey old o. |
oga Westerhoff anything other dan Keshi will do pls. |
Daninya11:This is nt a matter of getting our acts right. We are no where near USA, Sweden and Australia. I give d girls kudos for dat draw against Sweden. We could have probably qualified if in another grp. |
kliq:Wenger Will nt let Ozil go. Atleast nt with dat price. |
franchizy:If u believe this News then u can also believe the News that Tonto Dikeh is a Virgin. |
easyelliot:2018 is too close. 2020 Olympics and 2022 WC is more like it. Winning the AFCON 2017 or 2019 or both & presenting a very descent performance @ 2018 WC is also a path way to 2022 WC success. |
We know. Even if d whole of Africa put all their talents and form 1 team we cant win it. Oliseh qualify us for AFCON 2017 first na ur first huddle b dat. Not 2018WC. |
Tolexander:Cameroun reached 2nd round in last women's WC while Nigeria crashed out at d grp stage. I believe that singular draw against Sweden is responsible for this 4steps upwards movement. |
