To win the U17 World Cup. To come south as the best player of the U17. To come out as the highest goalscorer in the U17. It means these players are special. Managing them is another part of the story. But when it comes to talent, they are special talents. Finito.

Same argument with him over and over. Year after year.

You should talk about specifics and not your own perception self birthed view.

What's my missionโ“ again another nonsensical notion birthed from what , wisdom ๐Ÿ™ˆ

You are using the , Psychology "illusory truth effect" , which is simply saying the same LIE all the time and ๐Ÿ’ฌ it will believed to be TRUE.

I know like many other when challenged to substantiate your position you will evade and hide .

I challenge you elder to substantiate your position with specifics and details.

First of all, I will disagree with the notion that Kanu is average. For a person that watched lots of Kanu's games, I say he was actually key to a lot of our good plays.

I still don't understand what changed but in the past,.we had lots of tactical players that had deep understanding of the game. Sunday Oliseh, Celestine Babayaro, Finidi George, Emmanuel Amunike and Kanu Nwankwo were those that really caught my attention.

Kanu was not the kind of striker that gummed the final fourth or 18 yard box to grab goals. He instead was the player that operated very deep to create room for other offensive players to shine.

You can call him average when it came to goals for the Super Eagles but when it comes to contributions for the Super Eagles to fly, he was creme and supreme of most players.
True.
If you really watched Kanu's games for Super Eagles, when you see those Assists and Goals stats you will want to tear them off.

I know you, Komekn, will pick out Omeruo from that list. Omeruo is an AFCON winner, played in also in two world cups. Kenneth Omeruo is a Nigerian Star. This should not even be an argument.

Not only on football even as a nation.I have been to South Africa twice and I want to say structurally they are ahead in every sectors,so not a news.

Didier Drogba said something about South Africa and you said the same thing.Drogba said he was surprised that despite finances and facilities countries like Nigeria,Ivory Coast and Senegal are still ahead of South Africa in Africa football development.

Likes of Nigeria, CIV and Senegal do better than South Africa because:
1. We are more talented in the game as evident at the U17 level.
2. Our players are exposed to better finance and facilities in Europe.

Anyway, point is TheGoodJoe and I have been far more vocal on why we want Amunike unlike many others who don't want Amunike but will settle for just anybody else not named Amunike without an idea of what their philosophy is like.

Icon4s is as big on this thread as the myself and TheGoodJoe but he's been silent lately.

For me Amuneke was the most qualified for the job even though different people may have different reasons for not wanting Amuneke.

Well, Finidi has been appointed, we can only support and wish him well.

As for my silence, yes I may be silent on most of the issues but I usually read almost all comments. Really been engaged with so many activities but my love for this big family still strong gidigba. I will try my best smiley

Mafia things. The mafioso godfather didn't like him.

Not about Mafia.

Same reason a huge talent like Chris Ohenhen also couldn't make the team. The Super Eagles team was stars studded. An attack line with likes of Amuneke, Finidi, Amokachi, Yekini and Siasia. Also with younger subs like Adepoju and Ikpeba who were pushing for a starting place then. Owubokiri and Ohenhen didn't stand a chance.

Which kind of nonsense talk is this? Have you screened to know if they are better talents than them? I hate the mindset of no one is better without seeing others. Biko, who drew up the list?

He saying it would be DIFFICULT doesn't mean there are no chances of other midfielders breaking in.
Mind you, this is Manu Garba talking about his U17 team and not just one novice U17 coach.

After being part of several U17 teams I want to believe he already knows the standards expected of every player in every position. He may also be speaking based on timing.

Let's just watch patiently to see the caliber of Players he will churn out of his factory this time.

What a goal... Bony's return

Victor Boniface's headed goal. I have watched it close to 10 times now and I just imagine what could have been if we had him at the Afcon especially for that final alongside Lookman and Osimhen. Kaaaiiiii... e pain me but next Afcon we will be there๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿฅ‚ Africa go hear am again!

Back to the goal...

See goal here...โคต๏ธ
https://twitter.com/SiaranBolaLive/status/1778621979261841646?t=WR1hTJrLSvYPj1QbqMnZYA&s=19

Boniface took his first goal on return from a long injury layoff like a lad who never was sidelined. That is a difficult angled header to execute. And he executed it despite being flanked by two players behind and in front of him.
Not only did Boniface connect with the ball, he did it in a manner to direct the ball away from Fabianski and not towards him (some strikers would nod that ball straight at Fabianski or clip it but not on target).
He intentionally targeted that bottom right last angle. That was a wickedly superb header. The technique and power was in perfect sync.

Victor Okoh Boniface has indeed returned.

His 17th goal in all competitions, and 26th goal involvement (26 G+A) in 26 games across all competitions.

5 goals and 1 assist in the Europa League alone from 4 starts (6 games overall)

Bony the Beast is BACCCKKKK!!!

I just hope he remains fit for the rest of our world cup qualifiers.

If they play the way they played S.A at the Olympics then Brazil Spain will eat them up.

Gift Monday played well in the World Cup and it's important to start grooming and training them for National first team football.

This is just the qualifiers. They will definitely play more coordinated football at the Olympics.

I am particularly pleased with the way they set up to dominate play, today. This is South Africa, AWC champions, that we just played in Pretoria. We were the better team today.

The Nigerian team has obviously improved from that last AWC while SA are still in the dream land of being the AWC champions

Freshtruth:
Arsenal you have to play
Aston villa Home
Chelsea home
Tottenham away
Manchester utd away
Everton home

Chelsea might be fighting for the conference league, Aston villa top4 position, Tottenham is your Arch rival they will do everything to stop you. Manutd might still have a chance to qualify for the UCL with 2 games left. You might be saying while did I include Everton they have never been relegated before should the relegation goes to the wire and they are involves arsenal might be in trouble

Liverpool have an easy ride but they are not consistent. The Man city we all know will win that remaining 7games with ease trust me and they are looking likely to retain their crown

As far as the EPL is concerned there are no more easy games.
Arsenal has the momentum and is in great form. Their key players are firing. They are winning games convincingly unlike Liverpool and City that manage to scrap wins. This also counts for much in the title race.

Toks2008:
Generations are typically categorized based on shared birth years and common life experiences. While there can be variations and overlap, here are some commonly recognized generations:

1. Silent Generation (The Builders): Born roughly between 1928 and 1945, the Silent Generation came of age during a period marked by significant global events like World War II and the Great Depression. They grew up in an era of economic hardship, instilling in them values of frugality, resilience, and a strong work ethic. As they matured, many became known for their traditional values, respect for authority, and commitment to duty.

2. Baby Boomers: Born approximately between 1946 and 1964, Baby Boomers represent a demographic surge following World War II. They grew up during a time of unprecedented prosperity and social change. Boomers witnessed and participated in significant cultural movements such as the civil rights era, the feminist movement, the counterculture of the 1960s, and the rise of television as a dominant cultural force. Their experiences shaped values of individualism, ambition, and social activism.

3. Generation X: Born roughly between 1965 and 1980, Generation X came of age in a period of economic uncertainty and social upheaval. They were the first generation to embrace technology as it rapidly evolved, witnessing the advent of personal computers, the internet, and mobile communication. Growing up in an era of shifting family structures, many Gen Xers value independence, adaptability, and scepticism toward institutions.

4. Millennials (Generation Y): Born approximately between 1981 and 1996, Millennials are characterized by their immersion in digital technology and globalization. They witnessed the rise of the internet, social media, and mobile devices, which profoundly influenced their communication styles and worldview. Millennials value diversity, collaboration, and work-life balance. They are often portrayed as socially conscious and environmentally aware, seeking purpose and fulfilment in their careers and personal lives.

5.Generation Z (Zoomers): Born roughly between 1997 and 2012, Generation Z is the first cohort to grow up entirely in the digital age. They are digital natives who are fluent in technology and social media platforms. Raised in an era of rapid change and global connectivity, Zoomers are known for their entrepreneurial spirit, social activism, and concern for social justice and environmental issues.

6.Generation Alpha: Born from 2013 onwards, Generation Alpha includes the children of Millennials and Generation Z. While still young, they are growing up in an increasingly connected and diverse world. Generation Alpha is expected to be highly technologically savvy, creative, and adaptable to change.

These generational labels are often used to analyse social trends, consumer behaviour, and cultural shifts, but it's important to remember that individuals within each generation are diverse and may not fit neatly into stereotypes. Additionally, definitions and boundaries of generations may vary depending on cultural and regional factors.

The all African Games have moved from its Africa's own Olympics status to Africa's interhouse sports.

I remember the 1980s, 90s and even up till Abuja 2003, the publicity was Topnotch. The football event was for U23s and hence used to prepare teams for Olympic football. I remember then, when Nigeria used to parade an all home based U23 from where a few of them would be picked to join the main U23 team.
I don't even know why it is now for the U20s.

Then we watched all football games of the All African Games live! Including other major events like Athletics, and boxing. I remember Mary Onyali severally Crowned the Queen of the Tracks in Africa. We typically waited for the Athletics event to start for Nigeria to close up the medals gap with Egypt and South Africa.

The glamour of the All African Games is gone!
