Good morning gentlemen.

Based on the responses given, it's clear that everyone want us to adopt the former criteria for nomination.
So here we go....

All committee members are to nominate 3 names for each category, and the names with the most nomination would be selected for the final round of voting by all Nairalanders. In the event that there is a tie in the names nominated, all members of the committee will have to vote on it.
The criteria for nomination include:
1. All nomination should fall under the year 2023 in review.
2. Number 4 (most impactful new inclusion) refers to a player who made his super eagles debut this year and left a good impression
3. Number 15 (prospect of the year) refers to a player of Nigerian origin, regardless of his age who is eligible to represent Nigeria, but hasn't, and is highly talented.
4. For those of us who might be forgetful, its recommended that we tune in to Bascovanveli YouTube channel (Naija bias football channel) for highlights of super eagles games this year to help in deciding the nomination for nunber 11 and 12.
5. Nomination closes on Friday 15th December 2023.

Icon4s Thesupernerd Charlesemeka85 Joebie Andsungorilla

Well done Danielnino00, these criteria are highly noted.

For #15 does the player have to be a 'foreign born', or any Nigerian player, irrespective of whether local or foreign born?

I wanted to say we should go ahead and start nominating individuals for each categories, but I thought of something, based on the question raised by Andsungorilla.

He asked if some of the award categories were gender inclusive. I was now thinking, what if we made the award open to all of our national teams and not just the super eagles alone? Icon4s also asked me to indicate the criteria for nomination of individuals fpr the categories, and it got me thinking the more.
Agreed, the thread that birthed this award is mostly focused on the super eagles, but we always include discussions about our other national teams too. Maybe we could do the same for the award.
We could make it all gender and level inclusive.
If the majority says otherwise, we can leave it as it used to be.

Thesupernerd
Icon4s
Joebie
Andsungorilla
Charlesemeka85

I suggest we leave it the way it is. IE the Super Eagles, Super Falcons categories etc. This will be easier for us to set criteria and more easily rate players based on the set criteria.

Pitso Mosimane in love with our Super Eagles? Should the NFF get him?

Pitso Mosimane;

“To be honest, I would like to coach in the World Cup. I do not choose what comes, I would like to go to the World Cup. South Africa wants to qualify, Nigeria wants to qualify.

"If you have Chukuweze and the boy (Osimhen) playing for Napoli as your striker, I mean really. That Nigerian team is unbelievable. I saw the draw against Lesotho and Zimbabwe. Okay, its football, it happens. But how can politics between the government and the federation derail the team?

"Of course, I want South Africa to win because I am South African. But in reality, I think Nigeria has the team (Players). I really would like to go to the World Cup, but it must be a good team that can compete."

#copied

I know Pitso had always admired Nigerian football especially as he tasted several defeats from us during his time as the coach of SA but, sorry, the Super Eagles is above his level of coaching.
Besides, can he withstand the mental stress of working with the NFF?

France 2:1 Mali FT

For me, Mali were the best team in the tournament.
This was the team that could have given them their first U17 title. The "Almost" syndrome, killed them again today.

Mali are in big trouble now, they're one man down. And they conceded a goal immediately after that. ( They were leading 1-0 initially)

It's currently FRA 1-1 MAL

Mali were slight favourtes coming into this game though

They were leading 1:0 and looked like the team to get another goal until that rough tackle and the red card. Now it is 2:1 for France.

At a point in this game I was already seeing them beating Germany in the final grin
Mali and "älmost" syndrome na 5 & 6.

The thought of losing a loved one scares the shit out of me. I've been lucky not to have lost anyone close to me. Condolences to those who have.

For those that have lost loved ones in the past, I'm curious to know how you dealed with the loss, especially few days after their death.

Feel free to go into details if you want.

January 25th, 2022 I lost a cousin (Aged 40) that came to our family house to spend Christmas. Buried first week in February.

March 11th, 2022, I lost my elder brother's wife (aged 50)

August 3rd, 2022, I lost my dear Mom (aged 74)

August 29th, 2022, I lost my elder brother(aged 52) that lost his wife in March

At that point we had 3 dead family members in the mortuary.

Worst period of my life. People were asking who is next.... Uncles and Auntie were always checking on those of us still remaining, to know if we are ok. Stories flying here and there.

It all seemed like a terrible nightmare. It still feels same.

Buried my brother and his wife October 21st 2022 (looked like something from a Nollywood drama) and buried mom December 30th, 2022.

This is a situation I don't wish even my enemy to go through.

Time dey say heals wounds.

You people should learn to do proper research and fact-finding before rushing to create topics and threads.

We've never started a WCQ with this kind of wackness.

The WCQ for Russia 2018 was tough but due to the fact that we started well winning Zambia 2-1 in their home, it set us up nicely and we qualified.

Now see the sham this man has put us in playing weak teams like Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

Yes, we started with a 2-1 win away to Zambia while our other two opponents Cameroon and Algeria played 1:1. And the other teams played catch-up till it was all over.

Now we have put ourselves in a very difficult position
