One thing I noticed about this Cape Verde team is the superb off-the-ball movement of their players. The way they move makes it so hard for the Ghanaians to mark them.

They played like the superior team while Ghana played like the underdogs.

I have been saying it, I have never been impressed with Osimhen's performances in the Super Eagles. A player of his Caliber shouldn't be caught offside that number of times and that clear chance, haba. What a miss. This was a game we could have easily won.
We go face CIV.

Thank God this is not only platform to follow Super Eagles eh. LOL!

In 2004, two prolific Strikers, Aiyegbeni and Agali and a legendary leftback Babayaro were expelled from Camp for indiscipline, yet we didn't fail to reach Semi-final and went home with bronze medals.

Odewingie saw an opportunity and grabbed it. Utaka saw an opportunity and didn't shy away from it, guess what - both were Wingers.

Icon4s recently reminded folks here to refresh their memory or at best ask their Elders to tell them stories of Eagles at AFCON, but they would rather keep wailing here. LOL!

If JPes still plays 4 - 4 - 2 formation, absence of Boniface, Iheanacho, Sadiq ain't gonna affect the team. In fact, its an opportunity for Iwobi to play 8, behind Osimhen, flanked by Lukman and Chukwueze plus Onyeka and Oyendika double-pivot.

If Chukwueze head not booting well, bring on Simon to replace him. I do not understand folks here to be honest. Competition starts tomorrow but gnashing of teeth full everywhere day and night.

If you look at the analysis of foreign analysts who have been following the various AFCON competitions they will tell you Nigeria are among the favorites.

Shit happens in football, but a team with the abilities will usually rise up to the occasion.
Yes, confidence is low from Nigerian fans due to the current run of form of the team but WE ARE NIGERIA, this is our SUPER EAGLES. Let's keep hopes alive.

Jay Jay Okocha on Maduka Okoye’s exemption from AFCON 🗣️

“The way he has been treated since AFCON 2021, after that fateful Tunisia game, leading to his exclusion from the Eagles, is a mistake. “He is the one keeper that has the type of training and football upbringing that we need in a goalkeeper in the national team. But he is excluded. It’s strange,”

He is simply not good enough. I even have more confidence in the fumbling Uzoho.

I don't care about Guinea match but about the team build up....US 94 team lost most of their friendlies except Georgia match played in Ibadan but guess what Nigerians knew that they have a team to beat.

Peseiro team is the worst I ever seen in recent times so am not the one to be deceived that eagles don't do well in friendlies.

I followed eagles bumper to bumper since 1980 so friendlies sometimes doesn't tell the outright picture of a team but if we are not doing well in build up to Afcon not world cup then there are issues.

We played Guinea for God sake and the next thing is team A didn't played, what kind of excused, very irritating,so Guinea used team A.

Losing a match is not the end but going back and correct necessary things but telling me about a team that nearly lost to Lesotho can only lose to Guinea with team B....pls is there anything like team A and B in national team going to tournament, each player has a role to play, reason why Onazi and Mba didn't failed when they were introduced as Afcon 2013 progresses.

I understand boss, I just chose to keep my hopes alive. This is the AFCON and it is the tournament the SE performs best. Some how I still feel this team will turn up.

He didn't used A list players and Guinea used A list players?so Guinea took the match serious than Nigeria?

Even against Lesotho our A list players failed to fly.

Egbon, we know you have followed Nigerian National team for so long to understand that we don't usually do well in friendlies leading to major tournaments. The result against Guinea has not changed my expectations for this team. It is not about blind patriotism. Forget about the recent set-backs, we know what this team is capable of.

Because just like presently they refused to give Willy de Cat Okpara opportunity to stake a claim for d position. Bora multivitamin said that he is short. I wonder if Jorge Campos was a Nigerian what he would have said. Imagine going as far as resurrecting an ancestor that was already holidaying in Spain.

Willie Okpara never really had a good goalkeeping career. That world cup was at least a step too high for him.

1994 WC not France 98...My point then,no reason for dropping Agbonavbare for Rufai based on his performance during US 94 WC qualifiers. If you remember Rufai was not even in the picture during qualifiers.

For 1994 WC Rufai, though had past his prime, was still a better option than Agbonavbare. Remember Rufai was in goal for the AFCON a few months earlier.

Chief icon4s will understand my point better cuz we discussed on how Rufai came back and took over from Agbonabvre who did nothing wrong.

Chief icon4s was of opinion that Rufai deserve number one but I was of opinion that Wilfred should have remain number one.

I'm talking about Rufai not Yekini here sir.

Yes, Rufai had to be called back because Abiodun Baruwa that we had hoped upon had a disastrous series of Pre-world cup friendlies. Agbonavbare was not even in the picture as he was already loosing form and gaining serious weight.
