Misleading headling .... O pari Humility017: I think there is something going wrong between ANS and Simon...probably a deal between both went wrong...
Gent Nigerian Duo Simon & Esiti Expose Super Eagles Strengths To Croatian Teammate
Gent Nigerian pair Anderson Esiti and Moses Simon have been discussing the 2018 World Cup Group D fixture between Nigeria and Croatia with their teammate, goalkeeper Lovre Kalinić Lovre Kalinić, 27, is expected to be named to Croatia's roster for the tournament in Russia as backup to first-choice goalie, Monaco's Danijel Subasic, who started the last six matches played by the national team.
These days, Esiti is not in the plans of the Super Eagles coaching staff led by Gernot Rohr but Simon has been called up for the friendlies against Poland and Serbia this month. ''I have the impression of being underestimated by Nigerians, and I have Simon and Esiti in the club, two young Nigerian players who are already great players,'' Kalinic told Sportske Novosti.
''Guys are powerful and fast, but very responsible, quality players and they say to us that this is how the whole team is. ''So any one-and-a-half percent looser approach ahead of the match with Nigeria can be crazy.'' Argentina and Iceland complete the teams in Group D at the 2018 World Cup.

Good point. But if Onazi is going to start on the bench, we gonna need an intelligent player with good match reading and anticipation skills to provide cover in the DM. Or else, a technically sound team would carve us apart. That's what happened to us in 1998 World Cup vs Demark - Sunday Oliseh was MIA in that match, and Demark had a free reign. O pari asha80: convincing mikel to go back to DM will take some doing..moreover I think he is playing his best football ever for eagles now that he has been pushed to AM which was his first love anyway before mourinho appeared in his life..he also seems happy playing that position |

Nah, I have never been a big fan of Ideye. He misses way too many chances for any coach to prefer him ahead of players like Nacho, Iwobi, Simon, Musa, or Ighalo. And I have watched Kayode a few times in La Liga, frankly, I don't see what he could offer that the players we already have in camp can't offer. I will declare Kayode a surplus to requirement at this time. O pari MetalJigsaw: You mean you don't see Kayode and Ideye returnig to the team? |

Listen, I am NOT recommending that those players be invited. In fact, if you look around you'll see where I affirmed that Rohr has invited the best players available to him at this time. I was just saying that if Rohr were to invite any additional players after these two friendly matches, then it gotta be from that list because those folks were already in his program. O pari Kog45: Pls which Nwakili?Osimhen invitation on what ground,Alampasu should go to lower league and have games.Hope Oyekwuru recover on time to fight for a place.
I think Ideye and Kayode just need to shake up in the remaining part of the season.

Actually, Joel can play as a deep playing playmaker. He's quite versatile. I have seen him play LWB and even LWF at Inter Milan. However, I do understand where you're coming. Like I had stated elsewhere, if Joel Obi gatecrashes the team and we have to bench Onazi then someone has to convince Mikel to play the DM. O pari AIG07: One question @ Opari Master.
If both players play in the system I stated above, who among them will sit deep to cover the defence?
Is it Ndidi who is a ball fighter or an offensive Joel who is a box to box player?
Note: I am not writing their combo off as you're insinuating, I am only trying to forsee what could happen-just like anyother analyst will do(I might be wrong or right as my assumptions are base on what have seen-the players style of play.
My first statement tells u about my admiration for the combo and the last statement suggest possible measures that can make the combo work. |

Good point, but I doubt it tho. I mean, players who are already in the system (Onyekuru, Osimhen, Alampasu, or Nwakali) could possibly still get an invite for the subsequent matches, but I won't expect Rohr to start reconsidering folks like Martins, Kayode, and Ideye at this stage. O pari MetalJigsaw: And it's not like it's a World Cup list. Other players will surely get their chance in the subsequent friendly matches after the upcoming March ones. So why all the fuss?? Everyone cannot be invited at the same time! |

I agree. That should be Mikel's role but he doesn't like playing that role for the Super Eagles. In absence of Mikel, Onazi plays the role but with Joel Obi poised to start Onazi is likely to start on the bench. Let's see what Rohr comes up with sha. O pari asha80: ndidi is not the type that sits in front of the defence..you will not get the best of him from there..that isnt even his role in leicester..he is the type that breaks up play and bettles in the middle |

I totally agree with you, Komekn. I watched the game as well. I think Juve won the game based on experience and luck, not any cleverly devised system by coach Allegri. Inexperience cost Spurs big time and they were unlucky too, with the goalline clearance and then the Harry Kane header that barely hit the bar with Buffon well beaten. O pari komekn: Watched the game I don't think Tottenham was stifled possibly limited but it was very very close right to the last second.
Juventus were lucky two off the line clearances.
But still a testament to the quality of the EPL consider which league has the overwhelming highest number of teams in the last 16. |

It's appealing but only on PAPER.
Playing both Ndidi and Joel as DM and CM respectively in a 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1 formation will lead to gaps been created in our midfield...

I said that if Junior Ajayi is as good as advertised then Musa might be the striker to miss out, based on the fact that he hasn't really started any games for the team recently. Hmm. I was honestly unaware that Ahmed Musa has a lot of fan in this forum. Unfortunately, you guys might be left a little disappointed on this one. I think Musa burned his bridge with Rohr when he declined to be the assistant captain, after Mikel was made the permanent captain. Yes, but not likely. Kelechi may be having a rough patch right now but Rohr knows that he's the future. And in addition, the team needs Kelechi for the locker room. I am not sure if you've noticed that it's often Kelechi or Onazi who tends to lead the team in celebrations after victories or even during new players initiations. So I will be extremely surprised if Kelechi doesn't go to Russia. O pari maidaboi: iheanacho can be displace too not only ighalo |
