In a sane society, someone should either resign or get fired for that egregious error. But Nigeria is anything but sane. O pari codemaniacs: The NFF are the ones meant to provide the facilities and infrastructure for VAR and insist on VAR..
It is the incompetence of the NFF that there was no VAR in this match.
So it will be foolish of the NFF to file a petition just to hide their incompetency. |

Yup. I said exactly the same thing on Twitter. That was a clear penalty every day and twice on Sunday. And I hope that the NFF will file a petition for that missed call. I was surprised that a game of that magnitude didn’t have VAR. O pari elunico: That foul on Dele Bashiru was a clean penalty. |

The Super Eagles passing and ball distribution is pretty poor at this level. In fact, the whole team was pretty mediocre. Even all the hustle and the energy we saw at the AFCON was lacking today. Why did Paul stayed in the field for more than 80 minutes when we have Moffi and Boniface on the bench?

People who don't understand football think that Cristiano Ronaldo, a man that would never score a world cup knockout stages goal in his life better than the two times world cup winner and the greatest striker ever lived! Blame it on the media hype. The folks who understand football don't even count Cristiano on their top 5 list. O pari Napoleon55: you can call arguably the greatest striker of all time fat guy just because he is now retired. R9 is actually the real Ronaldo. when he was still playing, when u mention Ronaldo,no one thinks about the swaggering one. |

I totally disagree. Go back and rewatch the match. The initial missed control was by Zaidu, that’s how CIV got the initial possession that eventually led to the go ahead goal. Had it been that Zaidu cleared the ball the first time, that would have taken care of the danger. O pari Stillwater10: Oboy I fear una for this thread o. Who told you it was Zaidu's job to mark Kassie? Zaidu was manning the far post while Kassie was standing unmarked far from the post.
You blame Zaidu better he realized the danger then left his post to deal with it alas to late. I blame Zaidu for leaving his position. If he remained put that ball would have been saved.
The second goal was completely down to Aina and the brilliance of Adringa. |

Without a doubt, Sanusi Zaidu cost us this AFCON. For the first goal, he failed to mark his man. For the second goal, he literally gifted the ball to Ivorian player to start the attack that led to that goal. Zaidu was useless throughout the whole match. O pari safarigirl: It's a team failure. Zaidu failed to mark Kessie for the first goal, I have not seen one person mention that in the middle of this whole Iwobi slander.
Aina was useless all 90 minutes, nobody has mentioned it. Chukwueze ghosted his entire time on the pitch, nobody has said that. Lookman has basically been AWOL our last two matches, but 3 Knockout goals dey cover him shame. Osimhen was neutralized, him gidigbo no see light, everybody unlook.
But it is Iwobi that everybody wants to come for. Even people wey no watch match come online dey fight Iwobi.
We conceded 2 goals for the first time in the entire tournament. The defense collapsed, but it is Iwobi that killed the team.
Anybody that is coming here to single out one player for criticism is being dishonest and they must be shut down immediately. |

Well, Zaidu is not a bad player but he’s been off form at this AFCON. He hasn’t done much, both offensively and defensively, in any of the games he has featured so far. Well, after the South Africa match, Peseiro was asked a couple of questions about why Zaidu was on the bench. And I also read a few comments on Twitter, so my insinuation wasn’t entirely baseless. O pari mrwilliams9: No, it makes more sense to put in Sanusi. He’s defensively better than Osayi and Sanusi is a natural left footer so he’ll cover the LWB position better than a right footed player.
Not everything is tribalism. |

And what happened to Bright Osayi who puts in a yeomans job against South Africa? I hope Osayi starts today, Sanusi Zaidu has been piss poor throughout this tournament. But I won’t be surprised if some people leans heavily on the coach to play Zaidu. Nigeria is a joke of a country. O pari komekn: What's happened to Simon Moses? |

Only God know what Jose Peseiro sees in Semi Ajayi and Sanusi Zaidu. That man’s inability to make corrections would cost us this game. Ajayi is okay but too slow, sluggish and very poor first touch. I don’t see him being able to keep up with the very fast Angolan attackers. As per Zaidu, the less said the better. He’s been our weakest defender at this AFCON: can’t dribble, can’t pass, can’t tackle, can’t intercept, can’t cross, etc etc. just tell me what he’s doing for us? Or is it on Peseiro’s contract that he has to start ? O pari minfelix: o ti set |

KPOM! You nailed it. To me, our strongest back line is: - Troost Ekong CB - Kenneth Omeruo CB - Ola Aina RB - Calvin Bassey LB Zaidu and Ajayi can come off the bench. O pari comodo: Ajayi is good if the opponents are not applying high press. Cos a little pressure on him will result to either giving a wrong pass or committing a foul. |

Oh, possible lineup you said?! Na wao, you almost gave me a heart attack with Semi Ahayi’s name on there. Somebody needs to send a message to Jose Peseiro to quit playing Semi Ajayi immediately. The man can’t even start for my high school team! His first touch is atrocious. And he’s so sluggish he’ll cause us a penalty. I don’t know what Jose Peseiro sees in him. May God helps us if he starts today. O pari COOL10: Possible Lineup. |

There’s zero cohesion in this team. Jose Peseiro has to go. He’s clueless. The team can’t string two passes together. Zero off the ball movement. Our CB pairing is atrocious. Only Jose Peseiro would start two slow CBs with poor ball control: Ekong/Ajayi ahead of ball playing CBs with pace like Bassey/Omeruo.
That man is systematically destroying our team. I don’t expect this team to make it past the QFs. Individual talent can only take you so far.
