What kind of amnesia is this? Have you so quickly forgotten that Kelechi did exactly the same thing at ManCity? He was constantly on the bench, but eeach time he played you could see the quality and when he was drafted into the first team he kept on performing against every single team he faced. See? I have just copied your exact words and it fits like a glove on Kelechi's ManCity performance! Now ask yourself why Kelechi ended up at Leicester City's bench while Mbappe got a promotion to PSG. Once you solve that riddle then maybe .... just maybe you can understand where I am coming from. O pari Mickael2: |
Lionel Messi: Cristiano Ronaldo will never match Barcelona star due to one thing - pundit But Manchester United legend Ferdinand believes Messi stands above Ronaldo in one aspect of his game. “I think him and Cristiano Ronaldo are the best players,” Ferdinand said on BT Sport. “The difference between the both of them is that Cristiano goes out there and his mindset is ‘give me the ball in the areas where I can score a goal’. “He’s an out-and-out goalscorer. Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t bothered about being on the halfway line playing at the rhythm of the game, he wants to be at the cutting knife-edge of the game. “Whereas Messi, you sometimes see him in the defensive midfielder position picking up the ball, playing one-twos, just playing with the opposition. “He’s involved in the rhythm of the game constantly and that’s the difference between the two players.” Source: https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/931979/Lionel-Messi-Cristiano-Ronaldo-Barcelona-news-Real-Madrid-Champions-League-Chelsea 'nuff said! Well, them that are in the know are speaking out and speaking wisdom: Conte, Courtois, Alonso know why Barca beat Chelsea: Messi “ “Tonight (and) in the two legs, Lionel Messi made the difference,” Conte said. “We are talking about the best player in the world.” When asked about Messi, Marcos Alonso has only one work to say: In a word, he was incredible. They are far ahead of him because they have had more opportunities to play. Do you know that playing week in week out creates confidence and helps you improve? Put KC at a top top team like PSG and/or ManCity, and let him play week in week out then see whether Gabby or Mbappe would be better. And I will keep repeating this message until I can knock it into the thick heads of the folks in this forum: our players lack the pedigree of an average Euro or Latin American player; hence they are often neglected and overlooked. And sometimes, racism (or nationalism) also comes into the equation! O pari forgiveness: |

But when did he get injured tho? I saw him take a small knock in the game against Barca but that was nothing major ![]() O pari Icon4s: |
I don't need a recharge card but it gotta be Barca 2 Chelsea 0. There are only two teams that scare me in this year's championship - - Pep Guardiola's ManCity - Hyneckes Bayern Munich O pari |
KPOM! Let's hope that he would get on Barca's radar very soon. After all, Sergio Buesquets isn't getting any younger. And by the way, why is there no Barca vs Chelsea game thread ![]() O pari tbaba1234: |
Don't worry about it. Happens to the best of us. Just make a decision to burn the bridge today. Will be glad to be your mentor. O pari Viicfuntop: |
So Nigerians have gone from being the happiest people in the world to being the number 5 in Africa, eh? How did they even rate these sorts of things sef? Useless people .... with too much time on their hands! O pari |

I wasn't attacking you. I was just trying sound a note of caution. It has become fashionable for enemies of the gospel to post these sorts of pictures on social media and claim that the perpetrators are pastors without providing any evidence whatsoever. They are just doing these things to blaspheme Christianity. O pari Viicfuntop: |
Proclaiming that Jesus Christ is Lord. Amen! O pari |
How do you even know that he's a real pastor? Some folks are so anti Christians that they would label any wrong doer a pastor. I would be interested to know what church the man pastors. O pari Viicfuntop: |
Suicide is a spiritual problem (demonic attack). Meanwhile, let's hope that she didn't kill herself over the fake JAMB results. O pari AntiWailer: |
Yet they spent $25m on a nobody? What does that say about the club to spend that amount of dough on a backup benchwarmer? Bros, do you even remember that City didn't want to sale KC? He needed playing time so City had to let him go but not without a fight. If I remember correctly, they spent weeks negotiating a loan move and when Leicester insisted on a directed buy City still wanted to insert the buy back option clause to the contract. Do you play that kind of hardball on a player who'd supposed to be a nobody? O pari Mickael2: |
With 28 weeks gone in La Liga, Messi now has more goals, assists, shots at goal, completed dribbles and created chances than any other player. That's how you know whom the best is, not for talk ![]() O pari |
Apples to apples, if given a fair and equitable chance to compete, I can count on my fingers tips the number of teams in the world that Kelechi is not good enough to start. Fact is, there is politics and covert racism in modern football. And again, I can cite the case of Kelechi vis-à-vis Alexis Sanchez. How many games did KC start for Leicester City after his transfer before they concluded that he wasn't "good enough" to start? Now how many games has Alexis Sanchez started for Man Utd despite showing that he's out of hid depth? Do you sincerely think that Kelechi couldn't have delivered if he were given the same opportunities that Alexis had been given so far? And don't even let me talk about Fernando Torres at Chelsea. Meanwhile, my hope and prayer is that our boys would show the world how good they really are in June/July. Bottom line, our players will not start getting any respect and/or fair opportunities in Europe until we start playing well at the World Cup. The whole world would definitely take notice if peradventure we reach the semi finals in Russia. Or even the quarter finals sef. O pari Mickael2: |
Sorry ... my bad, you're right. Yes, KC scored one and created one and Benga scored one goal. But overall, KC had a better game on the day. And, if anything, that proves that if KC is good enough to start for Sevilla if Banega is arguably one of their best player. O pari asha80: |
Don't mind them let them continue to underestimate our players. Just a few days Mauricio Pochettino, one of the best coaches in the world, listed our own Jay Jay Okocha alongside Diego Maradona and Ronaldihno as 3 of the greatest footballers he has seen play the game! How many Nigerian soccer fan can accord Jay Jay such honors? I used to underestimate our guys as well, based on the football clubs they play or don't play for, until after the Beijing Olympics. That tournament opened my eyes to regarding putting things in perspectives when it comes to evaluating our players. I believe that I had posted that revelation on this thread, if you make a quick search. I think you're underestimating the level of Nigerian players due to the football clubs they play or do not play for. A few years ago I published an article in a Naija daily regarding a peculiar Nigerian perspectives in football: when the Nigerian U-23 team lined up at the Beijing Olympics soccer event final, the profile of the players could not have been more different from their Argentine counterparts. At CD Argentina had Ezekiel Garay of Real Madrid, Nigeria had Dele Adeleye from the bench of Dutch basement club Sparta Rotterdam. Just over a year ago, he was at Shooting Stars, oscillating between Division 1 and 2. At LB, with the responsibility of marking the dreaded Leo Messi; yes Lionel Messi of Barcelona, was Chibuzor Okonkwo from Bayelsa United, a right footed player converted to LB. In CM, where Argentina had Riquelme, Gago and Mascherano, arguably the best DM in the world at that time, Nigeria presented Ebenezer Ajilore of Mydjtilland and from the bench at Sparta, Sanni Kaita. A few years ago, Ajilore plied his trade at Ebiede Babes, a Lagos youth club. But as the game unfolded, the confidence of the Nigerian players and the cautious approach their opponents showed, belied the reputation and CV of Argentina's players. This effectively proved two things, if you can believe it: (i) that the club status of the Nigerian players does not accurately reflect their real quality; and that (ii) a new measure is urgently required to determine the quality of our players; one that is not entirely dependent on the judgment of European club managers whose philosophy of the game and needs, vis a vis their clubs, may not necessarily be in alignment with the development of the average Nigerian player, or the SE. Likewise I had argued with someone of this forum regarding Kelechi Iheanacho vs Ever Banega, when they claimed that KC isn't good enough to start for Sevilla. Well, we played Argentina a few days after that argument .... guess what? Kelechi scored 2 goals and Banega scored ZERO! O pari Lucque: |
Hmm. For some reasons, I have never seen him as a blockbuster. Well, now that you guys have said it, I will keep a tab on him. O pari asha80: |

Good point. Ndidi still needs to improve in many areas, no doubt. But my argument is not to expect him to become world class in every area of the game before we can rate him. If that's the standard then only Leo Messi would quality ![]() O pari RichardKajola: |
Actually, I beg to differ on Modric. Modric has never been a great striker of the ball. He can dribble and pass, but shooting has never been his strong quality. His game mirrors that of Ozil. Now, if you're talking about Raktic .... that one packs bullets on both feet. O pari asha80: |
Nah, I won't call him world class yet but he's a fantastic player and has the potential to be world class. He has to show me at the world cup before I label him world class. And by the way, same with Kelechi Iheanacho ... Kelechi has the potential to be world class as well but he seems to have lost his way a bit, unfortunately ![]() O pari eterisan: |
Not surprised. Chinese people rarely age or, shall we say, they age very well. My ex girlfriend in college haven't aged one bit, after 18years and 3 kids! The last time I ran into her, she still looks exactly the way she looked in the year 2000!! Those Asians have the best genes, yo. O pari |
