Ogbo couldn't believe his eyes,he just saw Maku, Deolu and Legun as they hurried away into the forest, towards ibiru, he could see Maku very well, there was no sign of weakness or disability in him,how could he survived the stabs?. He had stabbed twice, twice, just to be sure that he dies, but here he is looking strong as usual.

He couldn't help but follow them,he sneaked behind them, making sure he keeps a great distance lest they discover him.
He could see Legun as he helped Maku got down a steep terrain, Deolu was looking around for clean paths.

Suddenly, Maku stopped, and turn sharply at him,Ogbo quickly hide behind shrubs,he could swear that Maku saw him, from his hide out, he could still see Maku, staring right Into him, with a smile on his face,Legun and Deolu had stopped too, they tried to follow his gaze, but they saw nothing, ogbo was deeply troubled, this is not Maku, this man is different, he tried to look for a way of escape.

Legun: ( confused ) my lord,do you see anything? ( he followed his gaze again, but he saw nothing) my Lord, what are staring at?

Deolu: (confused too) brother, what do you see?

Makusad he faced them and smiled) nothing, let keep moving.

They continued moving, but this time more faster,Ogbo could see Legun turning back to check if someone is behind them,Ogbo lay low till they were out of sight, he stood up and gazed to towards their direction.

He was suddenly hit with great guilt that almost tore his heart, tears gathered in his eyes, he remembered those moment with Maku, when Maku would shower him with care, how he made them swore brotherhood, he remembered those times, that he would fall sick and Maku would make sure that the best medicine man would make the most potent agbo for him.

He knelt down and shook his head as tears danced down his eyes, the guilt was much,Maku had spared him again, he opened his mouth wide as he cried loud,he shed bitter tears, he wanted to run after him and beg for his forgiveness, but he couldn't summon the heart.

He fell down and weep, why was he like these! why did he chose this path? he felt like an animal with no honor and nobility, he couldn't but respect Legun, Legun is a person he wish he had become, Legun chose to be a slave to Maku but he is happy, but he chosed to be fee, now he is free, but not free to guilt.

He stood up and staggered back to his lodge in the woods.

Chapter Nineteen

It was night, Oyeku was sleeping along with the warriors at the camp beside the shore, the bank was really cold, the bonfires are going out gradually, and the cloud is announcing rain. Oyeku was trying to sleep as he turn around on the floor, suddenly, he heard the stream rubble with loud noises, he tried to get up and see the what was the curse, but he couldn't, he had lost the power to move,he couldn't speak either, he could hear the sound of footsteps, it was slow but firm.

He could feel a sensation staring from his toe, it went up,it was a cold smooth sensation that made him shivered, the sensation traveled up till he saw it with his eyes, it was a Python, a great Python. He wanted to struggle but he can't, the Python had made a coil around his body.

He shook with fear,he wanted to shout but he can't, suddenly the Python opened her mouth to swallow him,he closed his eyes and expect his end but no,it was a different thing,he can feel the coil loosened, he could feel the weight on his body deprecate,he could feel a soft skin on his body.

He slowly opened his eyes, that was when he saw it,he saw the most mysteriously beautiful maiden he have ever seen, her eyes were light brown as they stared into his soul,he face was tattooed in symmetry, he could feel her large shapy breast on his cheat, her teeth were milk white as she she smiled flirtily, she moved her hands over his body sensuously.

Her face were partly shadowed due to the night, it was the light from the bonfire that illuminated a part of her face, her hairs were so lengthy that they covered Oyeku like a blanket, she moved her body sensuously on top of Oyeku, her movement were slow and erotic, sometimes she would squeezed him tight and sometimes she loosen and ran her hands across his chest.

Oyeku almost ran mad with lust,he wanted to grab her her and lay her down, but his hands disappointed him, tears ran down his eyes, but the mysterious women did not stop, she held his head and played with his lips as she smiled, Oyeku could see those smiles, those dangerous erotic smile.

He bit is lips, his manhood has risen to it full capacity, the strange woman had noticed this, but she didn't touch it instead she spoke.

strange woman: (smiling) do you know me?

Oyeku found his voice.

Oyeku: I don't.

strange woman: of course you do.

Oyeku: no I don't, this is my first time of seeing you.

strange woman: (she smiled and brought her face closer to his) look closer.

Some strange memories rushed into his brain, sketchy memories, he saw himself in a woman's hand, the same woman, who lay on top of him,she was playing with him,he could see himself, he was a baby, an infant, she hoisted him up and then the memory was gone.

Strange womensad with a full warm smile that exposed her milk white teeth) do you remember me now.

Oyeku: ( he nodded).

Strange womansad she smiled and withdrew) I would come see you next time ( she slowly drifted away like a mist as Oyeku strength returned).

Oyeku sat up and stared at the direction of the mist,he could still see it,then suddenly it disappeared,he stood up and rushed towards the stream, but he saw nothing more, just the gentle stream that flowed lonely on it own path.

The Aro warriors are getting worried by the delay,Oyos are obviously planning something big. Ichendu could not get his eyes of the Oyos camp,he wish he could hear their plans and whispers, they are done with their rafts so why the delay?surely something is wrong, what are they waiting for,he sighed, this is beyond his power,he had not sleep well since the rumor of the war had started, a chief warrior should not be broken, but right now he is,he is literally short of ideas, there is no way he woud win this war,no way,not even a pact with Iroko.

He heaved,it pains him to be like this,so helpless and short of idea,he look at his men,he saw the determination to fight in their faces, they are ready to defend the face of Aro,but he knew that these men standing now would fall soon immediately Oyos cross the stream and set their feet on the shores of Aro,he felt sorry for his men,he had start regretting why he attacked Usi at the first place, why did he not listen to his majesty and placate the Oyos,he was so concern about the pride of his ancestors that he forgot to consider the return of the arrow that was shot up.

He wiped away sweats that were gathering in his forehead, and someone called him from behind,he turned around,it was Uzo,and walking by his side his the tall young boy,he could not help but admire this boy, everything of a warrior suits him.

Uzosadbow) good evening chief.

OyekusadBow) good evening chief.

Ichendu: good evening my men,how do you fare?

Uzo: we fare well sir(he faced Oyeku)Oyeku go now, i wan't to talk with the chief( Oyeku nodded and left) Sir,i don't want you to worry about whether we win or lose,we are proud of you sir,you had done a lot for our land, you put smiles on the face of our people when you led the campaign against the Usis, nobody hates the great Ichendu(he pointed and faced the Oyo camp) look at them Sir,they are fighting for honour and supremacy, but we are fighting for survival, our people were oppressed, you broke their yoke. Our determination to live and survive will be the determining factor of either we win or lose,Sir please don't pay attention to their numbers and strength,it breeds nothing but fear, either we will or lose,we would have a gain,we would command respect among lands, people will remember how Aro gave Oyo the toughest time at the shore, people we remember the great war chief ichendu, who did something that non of those in his position before him had ever done,he fought against Oyo at the great stream,he sacked Usi and make slaves of them(he paused) that would be the testimony of our people about you from this generation to the last.

For once in his life,Ichendu shed tears,he cried out and fell on his knees, nobody had ever spoke to him like this before,Uzo had lifted his fallen spirit, bless this young men,he said in his heart,Uzo had gave him a reason to fight without regret, he had made him to see that all his decisions were not bad after all,he had show him the heart of his people towards him, right now, he yearns for war,he could feel his courage back.the whole of his body itch for action, either he live or he dies all seems good to him,his death will be a sweet death,he stood up and wipe his tear.

The warriors attention had been drawn to the weeping chief, they understand such tears and it touch their spirit, the tears of someone who loves his fatherland, the tears of someone who would give out everything to bring honor to his land, the spirit of the warriors was highly elevated, their was a tense atmosphere for violence, the warriors screams and jumps like men who were possessed or maybe there were, they wields their weapons dangerously, they scream louder and leaps higher, their eyes were red like hot coal, they itch for fight,if not for the great stream that stand as barrier between the two camp, they would have crossed over and attack the Oyos, the noise was so much that the Oyos could hear them from their camp.

Oduaye marched with his handful of warriors, about two hundred of them,he wont be needing much army,Aro is not a stone that needs mallet to be crushed,a fist is enough. They marched through rough terrain and woods, the sun was setting. He had receive the message from that Maku is not dead,it was an expensive and weighty news, how could it be?what would happen now?would the invasion stop? no,he would not allow the invasion to stop,he wont.

Oduaye had hungered and thirst for the invasion of Aro for a long time,he had heard about their pride and their boasts, their ego and their valor,so he he had always search for the right opportunity to display to this barbarians that Oyo is supreme for ever, while the Aros are slaves sons of slaves.
The alledge death of Maku had presented an opportunity to actualize is dream, but now Maku is alive, which means the opportunity is cancelled,if the news gets to Oyo,Ari would be happy and merry and he would immediately order the return of the warriors.

No! he would not allow it,by all means this war must occur and he would go to any length about it,any length,he had order the warrior with the message to make sure that Maku do not leave the camp and that the war preparation should not stop. He had big plans for Maku and a big scheme for Ari himself,he would kill Maku and make sure the news of his survival was eradicated among the warriors,he would make them believe that this Maku is not the real Maku but an impostor,he knew how he will do that, then for Ari,he had more greater plan for him, Ari has been greedy and too disrepective, even though many of his glorious war were been fought by him,Ari would not give him provinces, out of the fifteen province of Oyo, Ari only gave him three provinces,he had always have a grudge fro Ari,but now he had discovered that Ari is no more himself.he is not the Ari of before,he is old and weak now, soon enough,he would eliminate in a blood bath and claim the throne of Oyo.

But for now,he had to reach Aro,eliminate maku and then start the war, nothing would stop him, nothing! he would give it whatever it takes,Oduaye never lose,he never fails,he never back down,he would start this war and win it, he would make sure the Aros suffered,he would feed their bloods to his gods and demons, and their flesh to his tigers,he would conquer their land and settle on it, he would name it after himself, and he would make sure that the land would never be called Aro again nor will it inhabitant be find anywhere on the surface of earth,he laughed out loud as he sight the camp from distance.

Maku sat on a log of wood,a lot was going on his mind, first, how did he manage ti survived from drowning,he could remember vividly how they fell from the cliff and into the filthy lake, but he was surprised that they found themselves at the stream shore and they were alive,it was a puzzle, secondly,he could not help think about Arore and the sacrifice she made.

He wiped a tear as his heart swell with emotion,Arore is gone, gone for ever,he shook his head sadly. He had got used to Arore already, but now she is gone, how would his life be?Arore has taken a special place in his heart that her sudden death had created a huge vacuum. He knew that his life will never remain the same with Arore gone. But he took solace in the fact that Deolu is alive,he had thought that he is dead, but the warriors had dilligently revived him.

He had also thought about the blood bath that is coming up,how Oyos are planning to invade Aro,he could see the warriors all around, from the look of things, they were waiting for the Generalissimo of the war to give them the go ahead of attack but it seems that he is not yet arouns,so they are waiting for him. Hrr knew this war was because of him,he knew what Ogbo had done, but he was not freaked about Aro been destroyed,he would not forget the humiliation that he had suffered in the hands of the Aros, just because he is an Oyo,he would not forget how they raped his love, even in death.

Arore was the only thong that made him fall in love with Aro,but now she is gone so the love for Aro is gone,he was still thinking when Legun walked to him.

Legunsadhe sat beside him) my lord, how are you doing?

Makusadhe sighed) am okay, how is Deolu? is he up already?

Legun: he is conscious now,but very weak,he is sleeping.

Maku:if he is up,i want you to let me know.

Legun:okay my lord(his tone became serious) my lord, the warriors have stopped their war planning, they have sent message to the General, that you are alive, i think this is good news, the truth would be let out soon, and Ogbo treachery would be exposed.

Makusadhe was silent for a while) it is no concern to me if Aro is attack or not,Arore is the only tie i have with Aro,but now she is gone,i don't care what befalls Aro now,the thing is i would go search for Arore's body as soon as possible,i would give her a decent burial and then take her mother as my mother, just as she wish, i would leave Aro and go settle in a low place, you Legun would help me with my plans, i really need your help.

Legun: my lord, are you sure you have given up on Aro?

Makusadhe nodded) yes.

Legun:well,it okay by me,but you never mention any plan for Ogbo, what are we going to do about him, for sure,he would not go scotfree after his sins,i would kill him myself.

Makusad he laughed sadly) fate would bring Ogbo to me, i am very sure of that, and if it happens,i would ask him my offence,if he gives me a valid reason, i would let me go,but if he gives no standing reason, i will hand him over to my father, but now finding Arore's body is my concern..

Maku opened his eyes slowly, the sun was setting gradually,he could hear the sound of rushing water,he tried to move, but he could not.
He rolled his eyes to his left and saw that they were at the stream,at the farther end of the stream, away from Aro.
He could hear the close voice of the Oyo warriors, they were at least thirty feet away. He tried to sit straight but he couldn't,because of the other two men who are still unconscious. They are lying at the shore of the great stream.

Maku:t(whispering weakly) legun, are you okay?(he breath slowly)Deolu, are you alright?( there was no response,he gathered his strength and shook the two men until he heard a moan,it was legun.

Legunsadhe slowly opened his eyes and turned his head around,as if searching for something)your majesty are you okay?

Maku: i am alright, what about Deolu?Deolu are you okay?(no response) Deolu(he shouted louder, but there was no response, he tried to see his face but he couldn't) legun please help me check,is Deolu alright?( he is getting scared now)please help me check him.

legunsadhe struggled to twist his neck but he couldn't)my lord,i can't,this position is too tight.

Tears danced dowm Maku's eyes, his brother is gone,he knew it,Deolu is dead!,why?why? why is this happening?he lost Arore, now he had lost his broher too,he could no more contain the pain,he scream out loud and broke into loud cry,he shook is head in sorrow. Now he knew that the goddess meant business with him,he knew the goddess is this cause of all these sorrows and pains,he knew she was the one behind all his predicament, how he wish he could see the goddess and tell her that he was sorry if only she would bring Arore and Deolu back to life.

Makusadweeping bitterly)dear mother,i am sorry, please forgive me and return my brother, here i am take my life, but please return Arore and return my brother.

LEGUNsadweeping) take heart my lord, please do take heart,Deolu is not dead, i believe he is not dead,he would wake up soon.

Legun was still talking when they heard some footsteps, behold, they have been surrounded by Oyo warriors.

How is it not valid why should someone even be kept as a servant does that not show oppression especially if they were forced into it that is wrong and unjust but of course your justifying it things like slavery shouldn’t be the norm and they weren’t the norm in Western Africa oike in Oyo, ile ife, bini, nri etc. Until the British came and offered poor people arms, money and influence to give them slaves things like slavery and forced labour shouldn’t be normalised ever,
so if God bless you and grant you great mansions, great houses, you would not look for a servant? you are funny bro

For the Christmas thing it has nothing to do with your beliefs these are facts we are arguing with facts not opinions here, Christmas originated as a pagan holiday whether you like it or not. Also Christianity was created in the 1st Century AD a few hundred years after Jesus died, the Bible was reformed by King James and whoever else wanted it to be reformed. The point is the Bible you see is very watered down by multiple generations of people trying to change it to suit their facts just as the church does you cannot trust either.
there are two ancient Bible manuscript that were discovered lately, and fortunately, it is the exact copy of the one we used today, king James translated the Bible from Latin to English, he did not rewrite, nor did he tamper with the contents.

As far as I am concerned Christmas is the day of birth of Jesus, and in as much as my conscience bear me witness to it,then it doesn't matter.

It obviously isn’t though, ogun worshippers don’t sacrifice humans I know people who grew up in villages around ogun, Oyo and osun state and one of my uncles is a babalawo, a devotee of ogun and he only sacrifices dogs, he has never once talked about human sacrifice it is British bastardisation.

Your looking for oppression in the Bible plenty of examples apostle Paul’s epistle to the Ecclestians he says very clearly “ Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; not with eye-service, as men-pleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.”
so where is the oppression from the verse you quoted just now? or is it not ethical or normal for the servant to be obedient to the master? that is not a valid point, give me another one.

Crusades is not the only example of violence in the history of Christianity remeber when god struck down 500 000 Israelite soldiers just to prove his dominance and power a true god would never do that,

2. If you don’t tamper with dead people why do you pray to saints and to Jesus they are all dead people who you generate so stop with this dead people nonsense

3. Christmas is actually a pagan holiday if you cared to research Christmas has nothing to do with the birth of Christ, Jesus was actually born in September or February if he were a real person, but the fact of the matter is that Christmas isn’t a Christian holiday it was created by the pagans, and Santa doesn’t represent st Nicholas Santa was created by Coca Cola as a form of branding in the 1920s
as I said earlier we have heresy in churches, worshipping of saints and dead people is the heresy of the Catholic church, the Bible never instruct us to worship dead people.

I will like to give you an advice, if you want to argue Christianity with me, don't pick weakness from churches, pick weakness from the Bible, I don't follow doctrine of churches, I follow only what the Bible says.

Christmas to me is the day the Lord Jesus was born, that is my belief and my faith, any other meaning attached to it is what Christmas is to that person, if you consider it a pagan day, then to you it is a pagan day,and if you consider it the day of birth of Jesus, then it is to you as you believe.

There is no n sacrifice that was simply a propaganda created by the British there is no evidence whatsoever to support human sacrifice other than racist derogatory British cartoons, also don’t act as if Christians have never committed wars 8n the name of god, what about when god struck down 500 000 Israelites for no reason other than to prove his dominance. Remember ogun and all these deities are just normal people with very good skills, Christianity and Islam are both religions of oppression, racism and murder. Neither of them are equal to women, neither of them show equality, neither of them are peaceful, neither of them are for black people you need to get this in your skull
Do you hear what I said earlier, I have moved with afrelist when I was growing up,human sacrifice to Ogun is something they proudly mention, this is no British bastardization, this is from the Ogun worshippers themselves.

You can please mention the verses in the Bible that support racism and oppression,I am waiting, but if you can't find it,please don't mention it again

You just profess to the fact that both Christians and Islamic religions are also blood sucker, do you know how many people have been during the cause of crusaders and jihadists, even in the present time, their are lots of persecution going on. It is only in African both the Christian and Muslim will go to traditional worshiping temples and destroy it in the name of religion and meanwhile a traditional will never do that. A proud Yoruba culture man will never stand to bastardized his tradition and culture. Culture and tradition are interwoven, they can't be separated. That is why some of our culture has also be be demonized except if you an hypocrite, our herbs has been demonized, we believed those using herbs are unbelievers, we believed masquerades festival and new yam festivals are evil festive but we joined them to celebrate Halloween and father Christmas, we are always the first their carnival, we failed to see anything evil in whatever they are doing ,). ."Inferiority complex"
crusaders waged war outside the ordinance of Jesus Christ, that is,they did something that they were not commanded to do,there actions were not acceptable before Jesus Christ, this is a different case from the Islamic jihad which was commanded by Muhammad, or the African ritual killing of slaves which was supported by all African society.

Real Christians do not celebrate Halloween, in fact, Halloween is not a Christian thing, concerning herbs and roots, herbs and root are scriptural, only out of ignorance do Christians avoid this natural blessing, I took herbs in as much as it does not involve incantations or invocation, there is no sin in it.

Masquerading is connected with the spirit of the dead,we are warned not to tamper no mingle with the spirit of the dead.

Christmas is nothing but the celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, any other meaning you give to Christmas is from your own point of view

Point of correction, Ogun is not demon, there is nothing demonic about Ogun, Ogun is a deity like Sango, Esu, Obatala, Osun, Oya, Olokun etc, these are our ancestors and not demon, maybe your ancestors "forefathers" are demon but mine are not. Is either you believe it not, our colonisers brought christianity and Islam to us, they are strange religions to Africa, although our love for the newly formed religions has made most of us to believe our forefathers are evil.
what sort of man would always thirst for blood and war. The saying you wrote is meant for kings not Ogun,I grew up among elder and I know a lot of things about Yoruba spirituality, Ogun is a demon that his excited by blood, especially human blood, in my town, I have heard a lot of stories of how people were been sacrificed to Ogun, now I am hearing this from The mouth of an afrelist.

Christianity is not a religion of colonialism, remember Christianity started in Palestine as a family, where anybody who accept Christ is view as a brother OE sister, British and colonial masters are not Christians, they only professed Christian politically, they are not Christian in the real sense, because Christianity means being like Jesus himself.

although I don't support the media at which this children were abducted and the fact that they tried to erase their culture, but I think it worth it if those children with little care and attention can be adopt by reasonable people in a legal way,at least, it would lower the rate of the alimajiri population who are logically nuisance to the society, pardon my harsh term but that is what they are in a ethical sense, and northerners should try and adopt a lifestyle that would reduce the rate at which poverty becomes a norm.

1603 to 1868 AD in Japan is even called the Edo period. That was the Tokugawa Shogunate with Kyoto still power center in Japan mostly.

As distant as Japan is to Benin, Benin has more common words with it than Yoruba.

I guess I should gather some boys and storm Tokyo to take over Japan. cheesy grin
kikikikiki ah,I don laugh tire, see them, two deceivers, deceiving themselves, Edo are now the ancestors of Japanese people again,oh my stomach, I can't stop laughing.

I stand to be corrected, the Ogun devotee don't use human for Ogun sacrifice, Ogun only accepts dog, "bi aje ba logo odun laye Ogun lo se". You will never see or hear an Ifa priest said, ifa say you need human sacrifice for your problem NO, it may come for "ONISEGU".
Babalawo are more in the spiritual realm than 95% of the Pastors and Imams, they understand the things of the spirit. A knowledgeable babalawo will always acknowledge the witches because, they can make ways or hinder his ways. There are positive and negative energies in witches, the witches are also messengers of God. Are you telling me that the witches just came into existence without the knowledge of Olodumare?
you are the first person that I would see to deny that Ogun doesn't take human sacrifice, there is a common saying in Yoruba land that" won be Ori re fun Ogun"( his head was chopped for Ogun), I do you explain that.

you said babalawos are more spiritual than pastors, so can you explain, in what way?

Lol, lets not talk of our gene flowing in the 6 yoruba state, royal bloods not bloods of commoners
you are a wasted Yoruba sperm, the last time I checked, Edo was a carrier of the great Yoruba civilization and blood, take a look around, Yoruba's influenced the whole of Edo to the kingship, while you only influenced in an atomic measure of little eastern Yoruba state.
