These people like to talk a lot, but they won't do what they're supposed to do.
Thanks  @ Evil Brain , GBAM, u have said it all. only in Nigeria, do we spend all the time doing research/seminar/conference and end up not even using the fake results they come up with

This time next year she will do doing another seminar or  be talkiing the same nonsense with increased figures, in her findings

A country that does not have a Demographical data (employment/unemployment figures, mortality rate, etc non existent ooo)  whatsoever and yet we carry on speculating and spitting out a lot of jargons that dont add up

Do they look at themselves and not know that they can only fool a few people and not all of us

So ok now, what do we do with this figures, what is the action plan,  Zzzzzzzzzz

Search the whole internet, its one seminar after the other, talking talking talking

I dont see other country Ministers or Goverment Officials blabbing, talking, conferencing, doing seminars, workshops like we do in Nigerai,  Kai,  i tire men,
shocked embarassed

The Finance Minister said the construction of the Second Niger bridge, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the Abuja International Airport and the Benin-Shagamu Expressway top government’s priority list in infrastructure financing.
Just hear this,  in 2011 see what we are listing as Key Projects, Abuja International Airport, is Lagos Ibadan a new project or shes listing the usual tar poured over a crooked road as a key project,  we are a failed nation mehn,

No mention of Education and they wonder why the whole place is full of young kids kidnapping and robbing people

if people do not have hope they turn to the other way round.

U thing the man in the street understands these figures, 4rm one seminar to another same story,

see talk talk talk, big figures all year all year

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Defends GCON Award To Dangote by ideylaff: 12:34pm On Nov 15, 2011
folks let's not criticise for the sake of it, GEJ deserves some credit on this one. It takes balls of steel to say that enterprenures deserve higher awards than politician, he'd just set a precedence that is comendable.
Yes you are right but awarding GCON is just a step too far, so what do you give to the rest of the nations monopolistic pilferers who also employ thousands as well sad

what he's simply saying is Robin Hood action is a good way as long as you employ people, ehn

have they created a level playing field for others to thrive no,

now we are at the mercy of Dangote even for housing and what not when we all know that's not the way things should be.

The other day he promised the FG money to help 4 Housing why give the FG money if its not dodgy/pre arranged as its always bn in return for something

Nothing against Dangotes person, i just don't buy the idea of every government sucking up to him cos they created him indirectly and killed off SME's Small Medium Enterprise at the expense of him as a business entity thriving.

The clown always has time to answer and try 2 justify all the silly actions he takes with his fellow circus clowns , yet he will not give the nation an audience on why they want to remove subsidy or why things are on the low generally with his government.

grin sad CLAP 4 your self. GEJ,  All talk no action,

That is what we are good at, speech writing and blabbing/runnning our mouths all over the place, still thinking that we are seeing as Giants of Africa.

The little foreign investment we see in Nigeria is not even managed well with thr right modalities and framework in place, we are "YES SIR"yes sir men to all the investors, who bring money in and take majority all out with the government having no say on what they do or practice,

As long as they put one or 2 9ja men on their board we seem to not to worry anymore

huhWe like to talk a lot with no action that is the problem.

When last did you see any of the BRIC countries doing some sort of comparison with Nigeria, No

All they did was put their hands to the plough and got on with the job, we are still basking in the silly Giant of Africa Status we keep giving
ourselves,  That's the problem

Too much talking an no action.

Even as Europe is imploding they have the things in place to minimize the damage bn done as it is.

They don't have power, infrastructure and any other problems that still seem to bug us down as a nation.

Dangote is just one big fish in a massive pond.

The bread and butter of growth is not 1 massive conglomerate in control of most things with 1 Billionaire at the helm of the affairs, no, its The SME's that grow a country. The Small Medium Enterprises are the real indicator of growth

Until we start to address and bring them along we are moving nowhere.

Dangote can afford to by Diesel/generate power and run his factories/his business all night and pass the cost over to the cconsumer but the average SME cannot afford to do that.

In conclusion we can all get mouthy as much as we want, so as much seminars as we want. if we don't address and fix these concept accordingly, growth will be minimal.

I mean we are mouthing and making fun of Europe while even out Stock Exchange is not even in the top 3 in Africa, while most of our reserves reside in this crashing European economies we are all taking pokes at. Europe can plan ansd see their growth cos they have the Demographics and things in place to mitigate the damage.

We move our money out "stolen" and head off to Europe and US to keep it/help their economy and we want to grow bigger than the BRIC nations, LOL

TravelRe: FG Slashes British Airway's Flights To Nigeria by ideylaff: 6:36pm On Nov 03, 2011
To those hailing the move by the Nigerian authorities, its a shame that many of the arguments here are just plain lame.

Guk described it as 'cutting one's nose to spite one's face' and couldn't be more right. I doubt those authorities thought the effects of their action through before announcing their cowardly move.

What concerns BA with Arik's problems? What would it have taken them to open negotiations with the British Authorities? Were any mediatory steps taken before they decided on the drastic action? I guess not, who in his right mind would compare London Heathrow with Lagos MM?

If these guys (Min of Aviation, NCAA, FAAN) understood a bit more of the competition and politics of landing at Heathrow maybe they would have judged the situation better and made a smarter move instead. Even between BA and its local rivals Virgin Atlantic, a whole lot of politicking and tussling has transpired with the Heathrow slots. But I trust my people, no tact, no analysis, just straight 'abeg reduce their flights' action. In the current arrangement who needs who more?
will comment on this based on the info I have and hope to be forgiven if I'm missing something here.

The rataliatory move by the Nigerian govt is wrong! The issue Arik had was that they could not get landing slots at Heathrow, one of the busiest airports in the world. Many other airlines face the same issue and work around it by utilising Gatwick, Stansted etc. Arik is not the only airline that has had problems getting slots at Heathrow.

The U.K. govt did not reduce the number of times that Arik (or any other Nigerian airline) can fly into the U.K. The previous agreement of 21 flights for each country still stands. This is a demand and supply issue. Heathrow is heavily oversubscribed, unlike the Lagos and Abuja airports. It will always be much easier for the British carriers to get a slot in Lagos/Abuja, than for a Nigerian carrier to get a slot at Heathrow. Someone rightly gave the example of how Virgin Nigeria used Gatwick, that is one way around it.

It's NOT the British govt's fault and it is not BA's fault; the retaliatory move is very short sighted
Gok and a few people on here have their reasoning hats on big time, they are making some sense here. lets have a look b4 we have a go @ them,

The UK Government dont even have control over Heathrow,  Its a private company that runs the show there, its BAA,

Why 9ja Government come dey embarrass us with this knee jerk reaction as if its not the same Government officials that fly the BA to London route,

Pesin wey wan do yanga go get back up 1st , have we got a back up,
