I think Sowore got it very wrong. Go to to other developed nations of the world like the US, China, England, etc. They don't pay their workers in volume of cash. They only stabilize the economy and made everything cost of living very cheap. That is why if they are given a meagre amount, it can purchase more. If a worker receives 10000 naira as salary, it should be able to cater for many wants. So Nigeria's ecenonmy needs to stabilise that is what the country needs now. Not more salaries cause even those with more than enough salaries say one mila, are still crying wolf let alone .

Minimum wage in Europe is something like; 1000 euro per month, that is if you are doing a per time job per month. In naira that is about N500,000K. In South Africa, it has been increased to N126,000k recently. You are very wrong on this. All developed nations treat their workers like human beings, not dogs early 30 dollars per month.

If we really have to talk about poverty eradication, we must switch quickly and urgently into a state led socialist system with some creative approach attached to it. Maybe we should not call it socialism per se.

But we have been practicing capitalism where all our capital is siphoned. I think that a 100k minimum wage will catalyse the economy by increasing individual GDP per capita and immediately eradicate extreme poverty.

I have seen many argument about a 100k minimum wage causing inflation, and I argue that such argument is nonsense at best. The reason is that such a minimum wage if constructed along other policy measures will in fact increase SME growth, local production and enhance national growth.

For example, I have heard the argument from Sowore that he will grant every worker a 2 million naira housing loan at the national level and support a national mortgage system where worker's will have rights to a mortgage backed by the state. In that sense alone, I see that there will be increase production in the housing sector.

100K is definitely a welcome idea but I think that this should be open to more argument from different people

Does anyone have a constructive contrary opinion as to why it won't work?

Check the funding of universities before 1999 and compare to what Obasanjo's government invested in the universities. I'm not implying that they did excellently in terms funding the universities then, but they tried compared to what they met on ground. Talking about economy, things were relatively better then in terms of standard of living than what we have.

1$ exchanged for around #160 then and prizes of essential commodities were not as bad as what we have today. Many power plants were built then and businesses were thriving. What exactly has Buhari achieved?? Nothing other than unleashing poverty and deaths on the land

He doesn't need to win to change change, the change he has already begun. He is bringing consciousness and conscientiousness into our body politic.

Secondly, imagine we voted for someone like Yaya Bello, Dino Melaye, Dimeji Bankole as our president thinking because they are young they will do better.
