Romance10 Reasons Why Nairobians Hate Using Condoms by IdJack(op):
This story resemble Naija Guys....truly because most of the things here is what a typical Naija guy can do.

When Human Resource places condoms in office washrooms, they all vanish in an hour. But you think Nairobians are using them? Hell no!
A survey conducted by UNAIDs revealed that most new couples only use protection on the first two days after hooking up and then bang! they are going 'skin-on-skin' like rabbits. If you think they visited a VCT first, you are crazy. Nairobians simply hate condoms, never mind that annually, the government distributes 180,000 pieces of free rubber 'begged' from development partners.

Here us how it plays out. She whispers, "Babe, that thing feels like a paper bag. Are you okay?" And the man she met yesterday on Facebook lies, "I am a virgin and too big for these Chinese tu-things." Never mind that last time he got tested was 2008. And before you know it, chlamydia, a bacteria or two, a nasty virus and unwanted babies are getting exchanged like no one's business.
So what exactly makes Nairobians lose their guard when it comes to sex?

This week, we sampled some of the lame excuses that couples tinged with pride and bravado that make new lovers live by the reckless dictum, condom come-condom go.

1. Babe, I'm clean
This is the most common reason that people use to justify unprotected sex.
Paul Mwangi*, a public relations officer in a leading PR firm, reveals that he uses this phrase to sleep with any woman he meets.
"Not that I'm proud of it, but sometimes that's the only phrase that works. Somehow, every girl falls for it. I have never bothered to know my HIV status," he said.
Tracy Mongare, a fashion and design student at a city college believes that most men who use that phrase are most likely to infect you with either an STD or even HIV.
"The guilty ones are always scared. When a man feels the need to inform you that he is clean even without you questioning him, then, it's time for you to run!" says a paranoid Tracy.

2. Come on babe, raw is sweeter
Most couples believe that using a condom kills the thrill. They argue it is like wearing a paper bag. Some men will argue they can't even ejaculate when the rubber is on. In effort to please the men, poor Susan will buy this line and go 'condomless'.
"Thrashing a woman with a condom and leaving the bedroom smelling like a latex processing plant is not my thing. So I try and choose my women very well. Besides, you only live once and HIV now almost has a cure," Phillip Mungai, a technical officer revealed in an online questionnaire posted by The Nairobian.
He further revealed that once he sleeps with a woman without a condom, he can never use rubber again. The deal is sealed.
"Ladies, you ever had condomless sex with a man and then tried to get him to use condoms again? You can't, can you? Why? Because no man wants to do that. Once you go raw, it feels like the world just opened up and let you in on one life's greatest pleasures. Birds chirp louder. The sky gets bluer. A man's walk is a little taller and his head is lifted a little higher," said Phillip.

3. No repercussions yet? Let's do it again!
Couples who spoke to The Nairobian claimed that after having unprotected sex and one doesn't become pregnant or gets infected, then, there is always that 'relief feel'.
It is easy to go back to the cookie jar, again!
" I once dated this man and every time we had sex, I was scared of getting pregnant. We agreed on a family planning method just to be safe. I think I became too comfortable and it never crossed my mind he could infect me with HIV," says Ann, adding, " After doing it once with no consequence, individuals get braver or downright reckless.
He views are shared by Tom Ngao, an accountant.
"I cannot have sex with condoms. Common! Not at my age! I always withdraw during sex and when I fail to, then I ensure she swallows an emergency pill, which I always carry in my wallet," he said.
Tom's greatest fear is impregnating a girl. Sexually Transmitted diseases are not part of his fears.

4. Too drunk to care
After a night of drowning vodka shots, most men will not remember to wear a condom, leave alone the name of their chips funga.
" Last week, I meet this hot girl in the club. I was so high and when I got home, I couldn't even remember where I hid my packet of condoms. We had unprotected sex and I woke up cursing in the morning. I was shocked since I consider myself very careful," Mark Kamaua told The Nairobian.
In 2011, Canadian researchers looked at 12 studies that examined the link between people's blood alcohol content (BAC) and they likelihood of using condoms during sex.
The researchers split the participants into two groups, and asked one group consume alcohol, while the other group did not drink.
Findings from the research according to Jürgen Rehm, the director of the Social and Epidemiological Research at Canada's Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, revealed that "Alcohol influenced their decision processes."
Participants who took alcohol were more likely to have unprotected sex than the sober ones.

5. A baby is unity, right?
Most women confessed to engaging in unprotected sex to 'trap' a man with a baby.
When the biological clock is ticking and there is no man in the horizon, then, most women will try their luck with any man that comes their way.
" I had just turned 34 and I had just broken up with my man. I was desperate for a baby. I had too much pressure from my parents and friends. The next man that I met, I sweet- talked him not to use condoms. That is how I got pregnant," says Ann.

6. No blood samples, quick visual HIV test will do
Despite the many HIV trainings that most Nairobians attend most couples still believe they can 'visually' detect someone who is HIV positive or not.
"My former boss, as educated as he was, believed that he could tell whether it was safe to have sex with a lady without a condom. He used to say that a good woman is like a piece of meat at the butchery, you can tell from just a glance," Enock Wandera, a journalist told The Nairobian.

7. Don't you love me?
There is a joke that goes like; "If a man tells you he loves you and he hasn't had organic sex with you, he's lying." Whether there is any truth in it, that's debatable.
Some men like Lenny Mwamba, a club bouncer believe that sex and love are two different entities.
"Sex is so good; it will really fool you into thinking you're in love with them. 'Skin-to-skin' sex will have you all confused in your emotions," Lenny said, adding, "I don't know what happens when I sleep with a woman on the first date. I just loose interest and it even gets worse when we don't use a condom. I probably initiated it but I end up backing out," he explained.

8. It is midnight, the shops are closed
Have you ever been at the heat of a moment that you had not even planned for only to realise that the last packet of condoms was 'borrowed' by a friend? It is midnight and you live in Muchatha where shops are closed as early as 6pm.
Do you start reminding your partner that you need to call a taxi to take you to the nearest shopping centre or go on and keep her focused?
Of course, no man can allow such a moment pass!
"Truth be told sometimes you just can' avoid it. You will do everything it takes to convince her that all is well. Besides, who wants to wake up with blue balls?" Alex Kipchumba an upcoming blogger told The Nairobian.

9. Oops, just happened!
Accidents do happen, even in bed!
Most Nairobians argue that whenever they have unprotected sex, it was err...an accident!
Some will blame the devil or say they were carried away and couldn't say no.
Sometimes it's totally unplanned for. Your partner won't just stop. There is no turning back at that moment," explains Anne, a hairdresser in a top beauty parlour in Nairobi.

10. Too much of a hustle
Isaac Kiala, an environmentalist, confessed that as he grows older, he finds it more tedious to peel off a condom and make out with a woman at the same time.
"When you get to my age you have to do everything to 'keep it up'. A little destruction and you are back to square one, yet we all know how impatient ladies are. One simply cannot risk losing her in the initial stages of dating," Isaac told the Nairobian.

Foreign AffairsBreaking News: Massive Explosions Rock Chinese City Of Tianjin, Killing 17 ... by IdJack(op):
Massive explosions have hit China's northern city of Tianjin, leaving at least 17 people dead and hundreds more injured.

State media said the blasts happened in a warehouse storing "dangerous and chemical goods" in the port area of the city. Pictures and video on social media showed flames lighting up the sky, and buildings are said to have collapsed. Hospitals are reported to be overwhelmed with casualties.

President Xi Jinping has urged "all-out efforts" to rescue victims and contain the fire, Xinhua state news agency said. State broadcaster China Central Television (CCTV) said a shipment of explosives had detonated but this was not confirmed. The first explosion at about 23:30 (15:30 GMT) on Wednesday was followed by another, more powerful blast, seconds later. Shockwaves were felt several kilometres away.
BBC Chinese Service editor Raymond Li says all indications are that it was an industrial accident. The China Earthquake Networks Centre said the magnitude of the first explosion was the equivalent of detonating three tons of TNT, while the second was the equivalent of 21 tons of the explosive. Further blasts were subsequently triggered nearby, Xinhua said.

CCTV said four firefighters were among the dead and that more than 400 people had been injured, at least 32 of them critically. BBC producer Xinyan Yu, who is in Tianjin, said workers' dormitories were among the buildings destroyed.
Some of the still photographs being posted online really give a sense of the damage. People are showing internal doors ripped off their hinges and glass is scattered everywhere inside apartments.

The most upsetting images are from the surrounding streets and from hospital waiting areas showing some of the injured - parents carrying injured children.

Hospitals are clearly struggling to cope with this huge influx of casualties. Hours later, fires were still burning and 100 fire engines were at the scene, reported CCTV.

One witness, named only as Ms Yang, told local media she was out shopping when "suddenly from behind there was a big fireball and explosion".

SportsPremier League’s Richest Owners: How Much Is Your Club’s Ownership Worth? by IdJack(op): 4:07am On Aug 13, 2015
The Premier League is the playground of the rich and famous – and that’s not just those on the pitch.

While the stars of the show are paid like kings those who own the clubs they play for very nearly actually are
The self proclaimed #bestleagueintheworld, flushed with yet more Sky and BT TV cash, now has more money than ever.

But which club’s owner boasts the most dough?

Here are the Premier League’s owners and just how much they’re worth:

20. Norwich – Delia Smith/Michael Wynn Jones – £23million

Britain’s most famous TV cook is a lifelong Canary and alongside husband Michael were invited to invest in the Carrow Road club in hard financial times.

A wholly positive influence on the club her interest was questioned after her infamous on-pitch “let’s be having you” rant in 2005.

19. Swansea – The Morgan family – £32million

Entrepreneur Morgan and his wife launched a travel agency in 1992 and after much success sold it to Thomson seven years later.

A relatively understated owner Morgan was thrust into the limelight in January 2013 when his ballboy son, Charlie – then 17 – was kicked by Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.

18. Everton – Bill Kenwright – £33million

Kenwright made his money as a West End theatre producer and achieved critical acclaim for high profile shows such as Blood Brothers and Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat.

He is often less acclaimed at Everton where a number of fans regularly query his lack of investment in the club and his perceived reticence in selling up to a richer benefactor.

17. Crystal Palace – Steve Parish – £45million

A marketing expert by trade Parish, alongside three other businessman, saved Palace from administration in 2010 when they successfully took over the club after negotiating a deal with creditors.

A vocal supporter of the club Parish is a outspoken voice on all things Eagles and regularly converses with fans on social media.

16. West Brom – Jeremy Peace – £50million*

An established accountant, broker and banker Peace worked his way up through the business world before joining the Baggies board in 2000.

Peace was famous for the rigid structure he put in place at The Hawthorns but has softened that stance since hiring Tony Pulis, amid continued speculation he is looking to sell the club.

15. Bournemouth – Maxim Demin – £100million*

Famous for not being famous Demin is the quiet and unassuming money man behind Bournemouth’s fairytale.

The Russian businessman became Cherries co-owner in 2011 and has since helped oversee a meteoric rise all the way to the Premier League.

14. Watford – Giampaolo Pozzo – £120million*

An Italian businessman Pozzo is part of the family who own three football clubs, Udinese, Granada and Watford.

Oft criticised for their use of the loan market and wheeling and dealing players between the three Pozzo has guided the Hornets back into the Premier League and a significant spend in the summer of 2015.

13. Aston Villa – Randy Lerner – £640million

The American entrepreneur made his way in the business world with various investment firms before being handed the Cleveland Browns NFL franchise in 2002 when his father Al died.

Four years later Lerner bought out Doug Ellis at Aston Villa for over £60million going on to help fund a period of wild success under manager Martin O’Neill.

In May 2014 Lerner announced his intention to try and sell the club but as yet has been unable to find a buyer.

12. West Ham – David Sullivan – £850million

Alongside partner in crime David Gold, Sullivan took control of West Ham in 2010 acquiring a 50% stake in the club, with Karren Brady joining as vice-chairman.

Previously famous for his porn empire Sullivan has gone to negotiate the Hammers’ controversial switch to the Olympic Stadium from the start of the 2016 season.

11. Stoke City – The Coates family – £925million

Peter Coates and the Coates family rose to prominence with the rise of Bet365 but Coates himself was majority shareholder of the club before that.

In two spells as owner, notably the second, Coates has seen the establishment of Stoke as a Premier League club and a European campaign 2011-12.

10. Liverpool – John Henry – £1billion

A prolific sports franchise owner in the US, Henry and the Fenway Sports Group became household names on these shores when they took over Liverpool in 2011.

Not a stranger to controversy Henry sacked club legend Kenny Dalglish as boss in 2012 and kept Brendan Rodgers in a job this summer despite widespread calls for him to go.

Responded to Arsenal’s £40,000,001 offer for Luis Suarez with the now infamous “what are they smoking” tweet.

9. Leicester – Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha – £1.4billion

The founder of CEO of King Power Duty Free, Srivaddhanaprabha bought Leicester in August 2010 following a three-year shirt sponsorship deal.

Now chairman with his son, Aiyawatt, vice-chairman he bankrolled the Foxes back into the Premier League before controversially sacking manager Nigel Pearson on the eve of the 2015/16 season.

8. Southampton – Katharina Liebherr – £1.9billion

Katharina rose to more public prominence when she took over from father Markus in charge in 2010 when he sadly passed away from a sudden heart attack.

Not at all popular in 2014 after overseeing the sale of a number of first team stars fans appear to have warmed to her after the appointment of Ronald Koeman as manager and the impressive 2014/15 Premier League season.

7. Sunderland – Ellis Short – £2.4billion

An Irish-American businessman Short founded private equity fund Kildare Partners before gaining a controlling interest in Sunderland in 2008.

The fourth American owner of a Premier League club has wielded the axe a number of times but is yet to taste relegation with several narrow escapes achieved under his stewardship.

6. Manchester United – The Glazer family – £3billion

After the collapse of the Magnier-McManus ownership the Glazers first moved in to purchase shares in United in 2003 and after two years of manoeuvring finally established majority control in 2005.

Not at all popular with fans – some even broke away to form FC United of Manchester – their PR only got worse with numerous refinancing efforts with the club and its assets effectively used as collateral.

Malcolm Glazer died aged 85 in 2014 but his death didn’t cause any significant changes in how the club was run with sons Joel and Avram taking control as joint-chairmen.

5. Newcastle – Mike Ashley – £3.5billion

A self-made billionaire Ashley made his fortune in the sportswear industry, specifically the Sports Direct franchise.

Ashley hit the headlines on the back pages when in 2007 he bought a 41% share in Newcastle before going on to acquire a controlling stake when chairman Freddy Shepherd stepped down in 2007.

An intensely private person Ashley has come under fire for his perceived lack of ambition, his reticence to invest fully in the club and his refusal to engage with fans.

4. Arsenal – Stan Kroenke – £4billion

An American entrepreneur Kroenke joined Arsenal’s board in 2008. Three years later he increased his shareholding to 63% after purchasing the stakes of Danny Fiszman and Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith.

Another who is happy to take a back seat Kroenke rarely gives interviews frustrating Gunners fans with his reticence to talk openly about club business and his intentions.

3. Tottenham – Joe Lewis – £4.9billion

A British billionaire who made his money in currency trading Lewis is the main investor with the Tavistock Group which in turn own a wide variety of concerns including Tottenham.

Lewis is one of the richest men in world, with Forbes ranking him as the tenth wealthiest Briton in 2014.

2. Chelsea – Roman Abramovich – £5.3billion

Perhaps the most notorious owner in British sport Abramovich is one of the world’s wealthiest individuals having amassed a gigantic personal fortune from the oil, steel and mining industries in his native Russia.

In buying Chelsea for some $400million in 2003 Abramovich changed the landscape of English football forever and has gone to bankroll the greatest period of success in the club’s history.

Equally as famous for his penchant for sacking as he is for his reserved nature Abramovich is yet to be interviewed publicly despite being possibly the single most dominant and influential figure in the game over the last decade.

After a volatile early period in the English top flight Jose Mourinho’s return seems to have mellowed him in what perhaps could see a more stable period going forward.

1. Manchester City – Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan – £20billion

If Abramovich changed Chelsea then Sheikh Mansour transformed Manchester City in all recognition. In buying them for £200million in 2008 Mansour made City the richest club in English football history overnight.

As chairman of the Abu Dhabi United Group Mansour has overseen a colossal spend which has seen some of the world’s finest players move to the Etihad.

That investment has brought unrivalled success to the club with two Premier League titles as well as several Champions League campaigns, albeit up to now not with the success the club are aspiring to.

With no signs of the investment drying up and coupled with the relaxation of UEFA’s FFP regulations Mansour is sure to see City continue their assault on the game both at home and abroad in the coming years.

PoliticsOsun Lawmakers Now Sweep Assembly Complex As Workers Strike Over Unpaid Salaries by IdJack(op): 4:55pm On Aug 12, 2015
It is better...let them continue to sweep their office..until State Government decided to pay workers

Lanre Ogunlefe, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, said that Osun lawmakers now sweep the state assembly complex by themselves as workers refused to come to work due to nonpayment of salaries.

Ogunlefe made the disclosure during a telephone interview with Channels Television on a programme titled Sunrise Daily while reacting to the petition written by Justice Folahanmi Oloyede against Governor Rauf Aregbesola which was dismissed by the Osun legislature.
He said, ”The House of Assembly consists of APC and PDP members. Only APC members constituted the ad hoc committee which investigated the matter. And in a House that has both the APC and the PDP, you would expect that some PDP members would be part of the committee.

”They did not even want to grant us a hearing. They said the governor had responded and I said can we have a copy of the response but they refused give it to us. They said we should provide evidence. The evidence is there. Projects are abandoned. Hospitals are closed. A very young boy of about seven was brought to the hospital and his arm was about to be amputated because he could not get anti-tetanus injection.

”And when we got to the House, the Majority Leader was sweeping the floor of the House and trying to make the House conducive for the meeting. There were no workers there and I said how can a Majority Leader be sweeping the floor? Then a policeman said, ‘You know that workers are on strike.”.

BusinessBreaking News: Nigeria, The Latest Country To Make Ford Ranger by IdJack(op): 4:42am On Aug 12, 2015
Good news for Nigeria Enconomy as Ford as decided to visit Nigeria and assemble their product here...

Ford announced Monday it will assemble the Ranger pickup in Nigeria starting in the fourth quarter of 2015 as part of its expansion in the Middle East and Africa where the small truck is popular.

The Ranger is built and sold around the world with the notable exception of North America. The last U.S.-built Ranger rolled off the line in St. Paul, Minn., in December 2011. Ford redirects truck buyers to the larger Ford F-150 but a core of customers continue to ask for the return of the smaller pickup.

Elsewhere, the truck is a strong product; global sales increased 40% in 2014. Ford builds the pickup in South Africa, Thailand and Argentina.
Nigeria will be the first African country outside of South Africa to produce Ford vehicles. The Ranger will be assembled in Ikeja, in the Lagos State, about 470 miles from the capital city of Abuja, creating about 180 jobs. An investment figure is not being released.

The Nigerian operation will be a "semi-knockdown" plant that will receive parts and components partially assembled from South Africa and complete the assembly.

Ford will send employees to Nigeria to train them in the Ford manufacturing system.

The kit assembly plant has capacity for 5,000 trucks a year, all for the Nigerian market.

Ford is partnering with Coscharis Motors Limited, a Ford dealer group. Cosmas Maduka, president of Coscharis Motors, said "this partnership will boost Nigeria's much needed march towards industrialization and create an important step in the development of the automotive industry."

For Ford, "assembling Ford Ranger trucks in Africa's largest economy is an important milestone in our Middle East and Africa growth plan," said Jim Benintende, president of Ford Middle East & Africa. "With Coscharis we have the right partner and with the Ford Ranger we have the right product to deliver a world-class truck that Nigerian customers want and value."

The Ranger is the best-selling vehicle in South Africa, and Ford sees Nigeria as a priority market in Sub-Saharan Africa. The truck is sold in 24 African countries and 148 markets worldwide.

Today's announcement will allow us to better serve our customers both from a retail point of view, and in terms of vehicle and parts availability," said Jeff Nemeth, president and CEO of Ford Motor Company of Sub-Saharan Africa region. "We are committed to supporting Nigeria's developing automotive industry and economy, he said, noting assembly operations, even on a smaller scale, have positive ripple effects in the local economy and workforce.

CelebritiesPhotos: Kim Kardashian Reveals Her Huge Baby Bump In A Skintight Dress For A Sho by IdJack(op): 5:49pm On Aug 11, 2015
Kim Kardashian is almost six months along in her second pregnancy, but she hasn't changed up her sexy style while expecting. If anything, the 34-year-old is going for even racier and more daring looks until her son with Kanye West is born. On Monday, Kim slipped on a skintight maxi dress as she did some shopping at Barneys New York in Beverly Hills - perhaps picking up some more sexy maternity outfits.

The reality star squeezed her huge baby bump and famous derriere into the clingy frock, which was fashioned to look like a white top and grey high-waisted skirt.
Kim is also refusing to part with her beloved high heels, and on this occasion sported a pair of spindly stilettos with rope straps. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians favourite wore a khaki coat over the top of her dress, and styled her freshly chopped raven hair in bedhead waves.

It may have been a simple shopping trip, but Kim went for all-out glamour with heavy black eyeliner and bright pink lipstick. Earlier in the day, she shared a black and white photo with husband Kanye looking sleepy as she leaned in for a kiss. The couple, who have been married for a little over a year, spent Sunday evening celebrating Kylie Jenner's 18th birthday.

CelebritiesPhotos: Comedian, Akpororo Proposes To Girlfriend During Church Service by IdJack(op): 2:14am On Aug 11, 2015
Popular Nigerian Comedian, Akpororo recently proposed to his woman during a church service.

The proposal took place on Sunday, 9th of August at the Ultimate Power Ministry during the first service.
An eye witness who was present narrates thus:
“The life changing anointing service did not come to an end without entertainment infused in between as some of house of the finest comedians thrilled the congregation with unending laffta! The comedians at the service include, Shortfamily, Laffdoctor, Wiseone and Ovie (The generous). Akpororo was not left out as he cracked jokes and also performed four of his songs from his album.

His joy knew no bound as he sang and danced as never before, nobody knew what his plans was.
However, somewhere in the middle of the whole activities (choreography, choir rendition and sermon) the comedian was no where to be found.

Just as the pastor was rounding off the closing prayer, four children walked up to the altar with each of them carrying a cardboard paper, and when they got to the middle, they all turned to face the congregation as they open the cardboard paper with “WILL YOU MARY ME” boldly written on it.

The whole church thought it was a joke, still, Akpororo was no where around. At that point, the Bishop in-charge of Ultimate Power Ministry, Bishop Isreal Mathew, walked up and said, “one of my sons is asking someone here this question”.
Just then, AKPORORO walked up to the altar and knelt down in front of Jossy or Josephine (the only light skinned lady among the Explicit Dance Crew) and popped the one million dollar question, “Will you marry me”? with tears and smile of joy, Josephine said, “YES!

BusinessAkwa Ibom Govt. Introduces High Sea Ferry Services To Cameroon. by IdJack(op): 12:30am On Aug 11, 2015
Functional and reliable ferry transportation services between Akwa Ibom State and the Republic of Cameroon will soon take off to ease the current water transportation inconveniences experienced by Nigerian travelers and their Cameroonian counterparts on that sea route.

Governor Udom Emmanuel announced the cheering news to a cross section of Akwa Ibom State indigenes residing in Cameroon, during an interaction with them in Yaounde, the Cameroonian capital. He stated that the ferry service would go through the Atlantic waterways, to berth at Oron sea port, in the state.

The governor explained that the idea for the state government’s intervention, was to put an end to incessant reports of boat mishaps with attendant casualties involving Nigerians, particularly those from Akwa Ibom, who have been engaging in legitimate businesses across the Atlantic Ocean on regular bases, noting that the use of smaller private boats were usually at the risk of lives of the passengers and their operators, by the rough sea waves.

Deacon Emmanuel said that appropriate modalities and discussions between the state Ministry of Transport and the transnational agencies, were in top gear for the commencement of the ferry services, using large water vessels, “in no distance time.’’

He noted with delight, the existing cordial relationships between the people of Akwa Ibom in Cameroon, their hosts and other nationals, “in spite of your language and cultural differences”, and urged them to “sustain the mutual relationships and understanding for the enhancement of your social and economic pursuits”, as he enumerated some of his administration’s “popular projects” in the state, aimed at transforming the lives of Akwa Ibomites, to them.

In his address, the spokesman for the people of Akwa Ibom in Cameroon, Mr. Andrew Essien, expressed the indigenes’ appreciation to Gov. Udom Emmanuel, for using the opportunity of his visit to the neighbouring country to visit and interact with them, stating that the visit had given them “a deep sense of belonging and knowledge about the development strides back home.”

Mr. Essien stated that the courage and determination of the state government to embark on the people-oriented policies and projects were indications of reducing unemployment and poverty, to boost the economy of the state and Nigeria at large.

He assured the governor that the people of Akwa Ibom in the Republic of Cameroon would continue to live in peace and harmony with their hosts, and other nationals there, while relating closely with the home government, for sustainable development.

If you are a lover of youtube like me and you like to download music, video, movies etc on your Mobile phone, Tablet, PC. the solution is here for you...Before you buy the your next youtube downloader, read this and apply it.

I wrote this tutorial because I realize a lot of folks still call and ask “which software do I use to download youtube videos on my PC?”.
Well, my reply to them is usually simple and its the same reply I am going to share with you today. Lets get started. Fire up the browser of your choice and load www.youtube.com, search for the video you wish to download. For this example the link to the video I want to download is a TEDx talk titled “Programming your mind for success…” and from the screenshot, if you look at the browser url it ishttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmfikLimeQ8

Now the real deal, simply add “ss” before the “y” in the youtube, so you should have a url that looks like https://www.ssyoutube.com/watch?v=MmfikLimeQ8

Hit enter key

The next screen is pretty straight forward, just like any other direct download link. You will be given the option to download the video size of your choice based on resolution.

Science/TechnologyOMG: Four Legged Snake Fossil Finally Found by IdJack(op):
The first known fossil of a four-legged snake has been discovered by a scientist on a routine field trip to a museum. It is hoped the find will help unravel the mystery of how serpents lost their legs. Dave Martill, from the University of Portsmouth, found the fossil in a collection in a German museum. It shows snakes evolved from burrowing lizards and not from marine lizards, Dr Martill said. The fossil from Brazil dates from the Cretaceous period and is 110 million years old, making it the oldest definitive snake.

Dr Martill said: “It is generally accepted that snakes evolved from lizards at some point in the distant past.

“What scientists don’t know yet is when they evolved, why they evolved, and what type of lizard they evolved from. “This fossil answers some very important questions, for example it now seems clear to us that snakes evolved from burrowing lizards, not from marine lizards.” Dr Martill made the discovery on a trip with students to Museum Solnhofen, which has a prestigious fossil collection. He said: “The fossil was part of a larger exhibition of fossils from the Cretaceous period. It was clear that no one had appreciated its importance, but when I saw it I knew it was an incredibly significant specimen.”

Dr Martill worked with expert German palaeontologist Helmut Tischlinger, who prepared and photographed the fossil. Nick Longrich from the University of Bath’s Milner Centre for Evolution studied the evolutionary relationships of the specimen. Dr Longrich said: “A four-legged snake seemed fantastic and as an evolutionary biologist, just too good to be true, it was especially interesting that it was put on display in a museum where anyone could see it.”
The snake was named Tetrapodophis amplectus by the team. It is a juvenile and very small, measuring 20cm (7.8in) from head to toe, although it could have grown much larger. Its head is the size of an adult fingernail, and the smallest tail bone is only a quarter of a millimetre long.

The front legs are also very small, about 1cm long, with little elbows and wrists and hands 5mm in length. The back legs are slightly longer and the feet are larger than the hands and could have been used to grasp its prey. Dr Longrich said: “It is a perfect little snake, except it has these little arms and legs, and they have these strange long fingers and toes. “The hands and feet are very specialised for grasping. “So when snakes stopped walking and started slithering, the legs didn’t just become useless little vestiges – they started using them for something else. “We’re not entirely sure what that would be, but they may have been used for grasping prey, or perhaps mates.”

The snake has the remains of its last meal in its stomach, including fragments of bone, which the scientists believe was probably a salamander. This shows snakes were carnivorous much earlier in evolutionary history than previously thought. Tetrapodophis has been categorised as a snake, rather than a lizard, because it has a lengthened body and not a tail, snake-like teeth and hints on the fossil of a row of belly scales. It would have lived on the bank of a salt lake, in an arid scrub environment, surrounded by plants and would probably have survived on a diet of small amphibians and lizards.

South America was united with Africa at the time as part of the Gondwana supercontinent.

Everyone wants to know the secrets of a long life and healthy lifestyle but they forget to realize that to live a good lifestyle you must abide by the rules and I am ready to reveal those 13 hot ways to live a healthy lifestyle and live long for you. Healthy living is within your reach, starting today. Sure, healthy living is a long-term commitment, not a flash-in-the-pan fad. But there are steps you can take right now that will make today healthier than yesterday and pave the way for healthy living tomorrow.

1 Stay physically active by doing regular physical activity which can help you, live longer and feel better throughout their lives, be stronger and more flexible, prevent depression and strengthens your ability to fight off illness. It is best to get at least one half hour of exercise three times a week, but any amount of exercise is better than none at all! If you do not want to go jogging or swimming, or you take a long work.

2 A healthy mind is part of a healthy body. When you are in a good state of mind, you make good decisions for yourself about your job, your lifestyle, and your health. Here are some things you can do to keep your mind healthy: Reduce stress in your life.

Make time in your life for things that are fun. Make a list of activities you like and sure you have at least a little time each day for doing something you enjoy. Get enough sleep. Most times people get too little sleep.

3 Keep your mind and body free of harmful drugs and alcohol. Harmful drugs and alcoholic drinks reduce one’s lifespan and increase body stress, thereby causing your health to deteriorate at the long run Tobacco causes more health problems than any other drugs and is the most addictive, most widely used. Too much alcohol is definitely dangerous, causing liver damage, fetal alcohol syndrome, and accidents.

4 Stay positive. Always be positive no matter any situation, there is a saying: “The me I see, is the me I’ll be.” If you choose to see yourself as old and failing, you’ll likely carry yourself that way. The key word is “choose.” You have a choice with how you see everything in life, including yourself. Even circumstances outside of your control can be managed positively with proper attitude.

5 Manage your blood pressure. Know your Blood pressure and managing it is very important in living a healthy lifestyle. This disease is a very common problem in our society. High blood pressure can do real damage to your body and place you at increased risk for stroke and vascular disease. Think of your blood and its circulation through your body as plumbing in your house. If the water pressure gets too high it can burst a pipe — the equivalent of a stroke in your body.

6 Know your Mood and Energy. Living a healthy lifestyle includes emotional wellness and adequate rest. How has your mood been lately? Are you experiencing any symptoms of depression or anxiety? Stop and check yourself. Have a deep sleep and rest your mind.

7 Reduce Stress Controlling stress is another method of creating a healthy lifestyle. Like sleep deprivation, high levels of stress activate hormone release, including cortisol, which modifies glucose metabolism. Unwanted food cravings typically occur during high levels of stress. Control your daily stress by first identifying certain causes and create steps to reduce stress levels. One method could be performing deep-breathing techniques for five to 10 minutes when stress levels are heightened. Yoga can be an outlet for levels of stress and relaxation from your stress-filled life.

Watching your favourites television shows, jokes channels etc can go a long way in giving you the healthy lifestyle you deserve.

9 Eat a variety of different whole foods instead of eating processed foods. Eat fruits and vegetables for their high vitamin and mineral content. Enjoy whole grains such as whole wheat bread, whole wheat pasta, and brown rice. Also eat low-fat dairy products. Skim milk and reduced fat cheeses will reduce your fat intake while ensuring that you receive enough calcium.

10 Take fruits, Eat fruit and some nuts as a snack instead. Fruits will help to clean your system and also give you the vitamin and minerals you desire.

11 Control Your Weight. Reducing calories in your diet creates a way to increase overall health and lower body weight. Understand your daily caloric needs by using the basal metabolic rate formula. Basal metabolic rate refers to the amount of calories burned at resting levels. An average BMR for women is typically around 2,000 to 2,100 calories a day, and for men, 2,700 to 2,900 calories daily.

12 Drink a Lot of Water, while polluted and dead tap water can contribute to the deterioration of our health, living water is one of the greatest healers. It should be well mineralised with calcium, magnesium and trace minerals, drink it daily whether you want to view water as the carrier of life force or the source of the life force itself doesn’t really matter, what’s important is that all life is dependent on it and without it you would not be alive! Take at least 2 to 3 liters of water per day.

SportsBreaking News: Jose Mourinho Signs New Chelsea Contract by IdJack(op): 1:05am On Aug 08, 2015
Jose Mourinho the three-time Premier League winner will remain in West London until at least 2019 after signing a new deal ahead of the upcoming campaign. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has committed his future to the Premier League champions by putting pen to paper on a new four-year contract.

The former Porto boss spent three years in west London early in the Roman Abramovich era before enjoying trophy-laden spells at Inter and Real Madrid.

Rumours had suggested the 52-year-old would agree a new contract following a successful season with the club and, having restored Chelsea to become the dominant force in English football, Mourinho’s new deal until 2019 was announced on the eve of the new Premier League season.
“If the club is happy, I am happy,” said Mourinho.

“I think this is a normal thing for me to sign a new contract. It is important we have this continuity and I hope we can enjoy more success in the future – for the fans, the players and the club.”

Mourinho’s initial exit from Stamford Bridge came about due to a disagreement with wealthy owner Abramovich, although relations appear to have improved in recent years. Speaking shortly after wrapping up the Premier League title last term, Mourinho stated he would “stay as long as Mr Abramovich wants me”.

Mourinho who lost to Arsenal in FA Community Shield last week is expected to host Swansea on the opening day of Premier League.
