“Before, the government told

Practice Aggressive Marketing
Don't wait for clients to come to you, GO OUT AND MEET THEM. One of my clients office is in a building with two computer schools with very big signboards and posters on the stairway advertising website design. he must have passed these signs everyday but saw no need to get one for himself....until I met him personally.

At times it is not enough to place and advert or post a flier because most people would still want to ask some questions and need to be convinced that a website will enhance their business. This applies not just only to web development but also to also to software development. Go out and meet prospective clients SHOW THEM HOW IT WILL BENEFIT THEM and the rest willl be history.

more tips soon...
Webmasters / How To Market Your Skills As A Webdeveloper by idlaw2k3(m): 7:51am On May 31, 2013
Web developers (especially newbies) usually have a hard time in trying to showcase and market their skills. Most web developers would rather spend time writing codes and working on web projects than searching for clients. Advertising on Nairaland, newspapers, billboards, fliers, etc. can be expensive but are very effective in reaching out to your clients.

But there are proven ways that are almost cost free that both new entrants into the arena and old timers who still struggle can adopt to increase their S+A+L+E+S.

Word Of Mouth
Nobody can blow your trumpet for you, you have todo it yourself. Many people overlook the power of this simple but very effective and free means of letting other people know what you do. Tell them ! At home, Church, Mosque, Your relatives, every one. Let people know that you design websites. You never can tell when a need will arise and your name will be the first on thier minds.

Business Cards
Print Business cards detailing what you do. Be creative and make it colorful, as you tell people what you do give them your business cards. while using public transport give your business card to those sitting near you. When vising public institutions like banks, offices even supermarkets never fail to have in your pocket some of your business cards. It makes you appear professional when say "This is what I do,......Here is my business card."

will post more ideas soon

Is that N30,000 or N3,000?

you shouldn't expect to get much from someone who claims that he can design construct a website for N3ooo

I design websites and sometimes some clients can be funny. Some will come saying i need a basic website for N25,000. After putting it together they come back and say i need facebook google twitter and linkedin intergration. I need a response formthat will send sms to my phone, I also need a photogallery with all my pictures changing. I have two short 30mins video which i also want on the website but you will cutout some parts of the video. My logo is not clear i want you to change it. This is BASICALLY what i need.

and i go For N25,000! you must be kidding

If he has registered the site no need fighting with him just be content to collect the cpanel's user name and password. I will help you out from there.

Business / Digital Currency Site Liberty Reserve Shut Down After Arrest Of Owner by idlaw2k3(m): 9:12am On May 26, 2013
Panic spread on the Internet Friday as word about Arthur Budovsky Belanchuk’s arrest reached users of his digital currency business Liberty Reserve, which was shut down on Friday.

Budovsky, 39, was arrested on Friday in Spain as part of a money laundering investigation performed jointly by police agencies in the United States and Costa Rica. U.S. officials likely will seek his extradition.

U.S. officials have targeted companies like GoldAge and Liberty Reserve for years, saying they are hotbeds for criminal activity including money laundering, drug trafficking and tax evasion.

“The ability to conduct transactions in digital currencies is constantly available, making digital currencies more convenient than other methods of funds transfer, which may be limited by normal business hours and international time zones. Additionally, digital currency transactions can be conducted from any location or device with Internet access,” a 2008 report by the U.S. National Drug Intelligence Center stated.

“Because most digital currencies are denominated into internationally recognized weights of precious metals, inconveniences traditionally associated with international financial transactions, such as calculating international exchange rates for another nation’s currency, are eliminated,” the report added.

Liberty Reserve, which operated without oversight from any global agency, was a convenient tool for foreign currency brokers, as it allowed them to bypass local legislation and avoid exchange rate fluctuations, particularly in developing countries. But its lack of oversight also attracted organized criminal elements, prosecutors said.

“Payment in digital currencies makes it easier for traffickers to launder funds that no longer need to be placed into the traditional financial system. Payment can be immediately forwarded to an international digital currency account, perhaps in payment to the original source of supply, or further layered through multiple digital currency accounts and exchangers until reintegrated into the legitimate economy,” the National Drug Intelligence Center stated.

To open a Liberty Reserve account, users needed only to submit a name, address, email address, date of birth and occupation.

Online reaction has also come from Nigeria, Malaysia and other countries.

An earlier story on www.ticotimes.net about Budovsky’s arrest prompted worried clients to ponder the fate of funds deposited with the company.

“[M]illions of client of Liberty reserve now worried for money around the world , plz give few more info..LR site is down now,” one reader posted on The Tico Times Facebook page.

Phones / Re: Nigeria’s Emergency Number 7411 Goes Live by idlaw2k3(m): 8:16am On May 24, 2013
The technical company in charge of the project quoted the Director of Engineering at the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), Mr. Sani Adamu, as saying that “to have easy access into information and life saving tips Nigerians residents can dial 7411 on any phone in Nigeria and +2347411 from outside Nigeria, or access the link on 411ng.com.

The line is too expensive to use in an emergency. Why not make it toll free. And as for the 411ng.com website I wonder who hosted it with such a low bandwidth for a NATIONAL EMERGENCY WEBSITE. #only in Naija
Properties / The Finishing Touch To Your House by idlaw2k3(m): 5:00pm On May 11, 2013
A modern looking house is incomplete if it has a manual gate. Its just like a man working for microsoft and yet does not own a computer.

An automatic gate system can improve the look and stature of your property. Like the border around a picture, automatic gates often add that finishing touch to your property.

Solar powered automatic gates needs very little maintenance and offer SECURITY, CONVIENIENCE and CLASS.

Step out of the crowd today. Install an automatic gate.

Politics / Radio Presenter Daring Akpabio With The Truth. by idlaw2k3(m): 2:14pm On Apr 04, 2013
Radio Presenter Dares Governor...... Speaks Truth.

As at last week, the statement “I used my hand to strike out the name of the Senator who won the election, and said that it is important for me to give that region a Senator in 2007, and i produced Senator Aloisus Etuk…Senator stand up and take a bow…”, by the present serving governor of Akwa-Ibom State, Gov. Godswill Akpabio, never meant anything to many Nigerians, today however, since after a Reality Radio Talk Magazine program popularly known as Brekete Family carried it, Nigerians have now realized what a negative statement that was, and they are angry and calling for his removal as well as the said senator he installed.

If i begin by saying that Gov. Godswill Akpabio of Akwa-Ibom State is a crook, a liar, a cheat and a coward, that he has succeeded in messing himself up by making a careless statement on National Television, a lot of people will call me names and assume i was paid to do so. The thing is, Gov. Akpabio has seriously dent himself in the name of impressing those who were standing before him that very day the statement was made as well as the people from the “region”.

If not that Gov. Akpabio felt nothing can be done to him as far as Nigeria and the people of Akwa-Ibom State is concerned, how can he, a governor, whether serving or not, publicly beat his chest to say that he rigged election and that he is proud of it? The surprising thing was that people were clapping and cheering for him after that atrocious statement. What manner of government do our leaders run this days and what kind of people are leading us and where are they leading us to?

Time without number i have said it that the media we have in Nigeria are not doing their job. Was it not few weeks ago an international media lady drilled President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to submission, without fear or favour? She queried and queried until Mr President began to stammer. For many of us who watched that interview, we saw the difference, were it to be a Nigerian media person from AIT, NTA, Channels Television, SilverBird etc, the story would have been different. The kind of question they will be asking him will make no sense at all. You’d here questions like, ‘The people in a certain location are complaining seriously about power supply, what do you have to say about that?”, or you’d also here things like, “You said you did not wear shoes to school but today you are Nigeria’s president, what is your advise to those who are in schools now and they have shoes with them?”. Senseless questions, they ask questions without thinking it through, without wanting to go deep into the real situation that burders the people he rules. That is the kind of media people we have in Nigeria.

The governor is calling for a public apology and total withdrawal of the statement President of Brekete Family, Ordinary Ahmad Isah made concerning his according to him, ‘alledged” rigging of election, what did Ahmad Isah say that wasn’t true? The video as well as audio are every where on the net. Youtube, twitter, facebook and lots of organization and individual websites as this. Something that the National Assembly has summond him to come and explain how he rigged the election, something that most of our national television as well as radio stations aired, something that many young people carry on their mobile phones etc.

I see it as an unhealthy and unethical practice in the part of the media to always want to shield the truth in order to cury favour from those concerned. It is my understanding that representatives of the governor has been going around intimidating and harassing all those exposing and expanding or circulating this statement of his, that shouldn’t be the case. The media in Nigeria has to realise that they have the power to do turn things around in this country, they have perfectly understand the success of good or evil rest in their shoulder, they have to be aware that they have the power to say things that the ordinary Nigerian cannot say.

It is on this same site that one of the writers said that most people here in Nigeria are ass-kissers, it sounded funny but that’s patheticaly the case. They kiss asses no matter how dirty it is, just to go home or to their individual banks smiling and calling it a display of personal wit.

I am suggesting strongly that the National Assembly should not let this fly away this time around, in the name of fighting corruption, they should discharge Gov. Godswill Akpabio of his duty as governor of Akwa-Ibom State. The corrupt governor deserves to be put on hot seat.

Firstly, you don't know for sure, that he is a Muslim. He may be a non-Muslim who wrote that in anticipation that people like you would respond as appropriate while he smiles away after every vitriol-laced post. Secondly, i am a Muslim and my religion teaches me to be good to my neighbours, Muslims and non-Muslims alike, because they have rights upon me.

In Zaria, Kaduna state where i reside, we have long taken it upon ourselves to immediately inform the security agencies of any suspicious persons or events, so that gory incidents like the Kano one are identified and nipped in the bud. It is a hectic task, but we are hopeful that we will succeed, insha Allah. However, we are not encouraged by the fact that nothing seems to be heard about the arrests previously made and the status of the investigations.
Your efforts to preserve peace and safeguard human life in your area is commendable. How i wish it were cordinated across the north. The shieks and imams should come out and teach thier people from the Koran how much these Boko Harams have erred from Islam.

I have interactions with a lot of muslims, very educated ones and they are peaceful in speech and demeanor. The uneducated ones are the ones who are easily brainwashed to wreck havoc and unfortunately they are the overwhelming majority.

If the Northern islamic elders really want to show that they are against Boko Haram and its activities, they should all come together and issue a Fatua according to their sharia law and behead or dismember anyone who supports or is involved in these bloody activities. As thier law stipulates.

What are the northern Governors saying about this,
What are the traditional rulers saying. The Sultan, the Emir and others,
What has Sheik Gumi and other leading imams saying about this, are they helping the security agencies to fish out those who carry out these senseless waste of innocent lives who live among them, who pray with them, who eat with them. Or does thier silence mean support?
What has Gen Buhari said about this?
