He should also give a statement on what his boys did in Ekiti. Where 7 lawmakers(lawbreakers) takeover the Ekiti house of assembly and Impeach the speaker with the ACTIVE connivance of Heavily armed mobile policemen who prevented the other lawmakers from going anywhere near the complex.

Just imagine pictures being reported around the world now of Nigeria's National Assembly being overrun by the military.

Again this just feeds into the widely - held perception of Nigeria as a basket case.

Foreign investors who are already pulling their money out of the stock market due to the sliding value of the Naira, now have another reason - political instability - to accelerate their withdrawal.

I can't see how today's event will not weaken the Naira even further.

My question to the President is, why go this far to humiliate our country?

Thank you "cooler heads will prevail".

GO TO COURT

GET A COURT ORDER TO STOP TAMBUWAL FROM PARADING HIMSELF AS THE SPEAKER.

THAT IS WHAT IS EXPECTED IN A DEMOCRATIC AND LAW ABIDING COUNTRY INSTEAD OF RESORTING TO ANARCHY AND TYRANNY.

If INEC still insists that without pvc you will not vote in 2015 then millions will not be able to vote. Instead of the registration to be carried out in polling units where voting will take place, they took it to obscure locations. At one such center in Abuja nearly 1000 people were gathered to register and it took nerly 30 mins to register just one person. At the end of the exercise many many people were not registered.

I think we are gradually being de-sensitized,

we no longer feel shocked when we hear that innocent people children ! are bombed or killed,

we hear the figures and see the gory pictures and simply move on,,,,,, until another strike occurs.

We need to eschew our diferences and rise up and collectively condemn this evil.

Our leaders and we ourselves should be ready to do all it takes to protect and defend our humanity.

The Gruesome murder of my senior brother – Mr odion AIMEYEKAGBON by a Royalty ON THURSDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER, 2014

I want to report the deliberate and gruesome murder of my senior brother - Mr. odion Aimeyekagbon to NairaLanders. He is an employee of REAL STRIKER Security Company based in Oregun road, opposite Alausa bus stop, Ikeja, Lagos.

On Thursday 11th September, 2014 at about 6pm, a man (name yet to be confirmed) who is well known in the community of Ikosi, a relation of the Bale of Ikosi ,drove his car to the main gate of Folawiyo GRA in Ikosi road, beside MR. BIG’s restaurant. my brother who is a security guard on duty with one of his colleagues demanded for gate pass from this man, the man did not have a gate pass, and there is a standing order by the Resident Association of Folawiyo GRA that anyone without a gate pass should not be allowed to pass through the gate.

This man, the murderer! Was not comfortable with the demand from my brother and his colleague, probably because he is the son or brother of the Bale of Ikosi, or because he is an influential man in the community, he felt my brother has embarrassed and insulted him. After much argument and intervention by passers-by, he was allowed to pass the main gate without proper clearance or presentation of gate pass.
Instead of this man to go peacefully, no! He picked his mobile phone and called thugs and “Area Boys”. These hoodlums came with knives and other weapons to beat up my brother and his colleague on duty.

the other guard was lucky to had ran away with injuries inflicted on him, but unfortunately, after severe beating and stabbing, my brother died on the spot at the main gate of Folawiyo GRA where is duty post was.

the painful part is that, we have not been able to see the corpse of my late brother. the police only showed us the pictures of the mutilated and blood cover corpse taken at the crime scene. When we demanded that they should take us to the mortuary at Ikorodu where the police deposited the corpse, the IPO in charge of the case refuses to take us there, except we give him five thousand naira (N5,000) – CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT! Five thousand naira to see the corpse of our murdered brother!

As at the time of writing, the police have not been able to make a single arrest. They only went to arrest innocent members of the community, and later collected money from their relations to bail them.

From the information we gathered ourselves from the crime scene, the murderer is a well known man in the community. The police are telling us that they want the murderer to report himself to the police station.
The company where my brother worked before he died is not helping matters, all they keep telling us is that they are capable of burying my brother whenever we are ready. They claimed that they have capable lawyers, but they have not done anything as regard arresting this murderer.

I earnestly want to plead with Nairalanders to help us in any way they can, especially in sharing and broadcasting this gross injustice that had be perpetrated by a so called ROYALTY of IKOSI.

Just like my late brother, I am a law-abiding citizen of this country. I do not want to take law into my hands. Please brethren, the only way to fight this injustice is by crying out to all of you and to God Almighty to hear my plight.

YES! our brother is dead, he can not be brought back to life, but we do not want this man to just go free without paying for the innocent blood he has shed.

I also want to beg good-spirited Nigerians or lawyers to help us out, because from all indications, the POLICE want to sweep this murder case under the carpet. REAL STRIKER security company is not helping us either, it appeals they are collaborating with the police to cover up this injustice.

Below is my email address. Due to security reasons, I did not post my phone numbers, please drop you number here and I will call you back with a PRIVATE NUMBER to discuses further. You can also send me a mail.

Thank you all for your anticipated assistance.
Regards.

The Law and the Promise
15 Brothers and sisters, let me take an example from everyday life. Just as no one can set aside or add to a human covenant that has been duly established, so it is in this case. 16 The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,” meaning one person, who is Christ. 17 What I mean is this: The law, introduced 430 years later, does not set aside the covenant previously established by God and thus do away with the promise. 18 For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on the promise; but God in his grace gave it to Abraham through a promise.

19 Why, then, was the law given at all? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promerise referred had come. The law was given through angels and entrusted to a mediator. 20 A mediator, however, implies more than one party; but God is one.

21 Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law. 22 But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.
_______________________________________________________________________________________
Tithing was not under the law. It came before the law. Every command and promise made before law (The law which came 430 years after the promise), still stands.

In the first place where tithing comes up in the bible, Abraham voluntarily gave a tent of what he recovered from the nations he defeated to Melchizedek, he was not compelled to do so. Gen 14Vs20 Tithing was not a command before the law.

Animal Sacrifices also Came Before the law, Abel offered sacrifices of sheep and also Noah

Gen14vs20 And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. Voluntarily

Gen28vs20-22 And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God:
And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.

Voluntarily

That is why Paul wrote here at
2 Corinthians 9 6-7:

6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly ( 10%) shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully (20% and above
) shall reap also bountifully.

7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity ( tithe): for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Heb 7 vs12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

God does not need tithe. It is the Pastors that need it that is why they preach it. Let them also preach animal sacrifice.

On Hellfire

Hell is DEATH. Regardless of the fact that the Scriptures state that those that go to Hell "shall not see life," some christians call hell "eternal life" IN FIRE don't they? Yet the Bible says that the "wages of sin is death" Romans 6:23 How can this be eternal life in fire? How can this mean eternal life anywhere? Do you recall this what the serpent told Eve?

Genesis 3:4, "And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:"

The devil has been saying for 6000 years that WE WON'T DIE! This life in fire doctrine is no different than the serpant in the tree. BOTH are openly declaring the Lord a liar!

On the matter of tithes

The first thing we as Christians need to understand is that the Lord Jesus released us from the "letter of the Law", which no man or woman could possibly have kept entirely. No Jew could fully keep the Old Laws. If they broke even one they were worse off in the world of "damnation" then before. Christ freed us from the shackles of this Old Testament Law. A Christian has complete freedom in Jesus; because of what Jesus did.

2 Corinthians 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
Tithing is an issue that many Christians struggle with. In many churches tithing is over-emphasized. At the same time, many Christians refuse to submit to the Biblical exhortation in regards to making offerings to the Lord.

Tithing or giving is intended to be a joy, or a blessing.

We know we are not saved by "works" and gifts such as "tithing"!

Scripture is adamant that you can never buy your way to heaven this way. We are only saved by the grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And, we can't get to first base to receive this grace without Faith. We are therefore justified by Faith alone. We need a relationship with the Lord Jesus our Savior.
Speak to Him constantly from your heart to His.

A person who is "in the ball game" will exhibit fruits of the Holy Spirit which most likely will include giving to the poor and helping others. If they are not financially capable of giving they will help other in other ways. Perhaps they'll help others with their time or with their caring...

Tithing is an Old Testament concept. The tithe was a requirement of the law in which all Israelites were give 10% of everything they earned and grew to the Tabernacle / Temple (Leviticus 27:30; Numbers 18:26; Deuteronomy 14:24; 2 Chronicles 31:5). Some understand the Old Testament tithe as a method of taxation to provide for the needs of the priests and Levites of the sacrificial system.

Nowhere in the New Testament is there either a command or recommendation that Christians submit to a legalistic tithing system, or even a mandatory day of worship (like Saturday) for that matter.

Paul states that believers should set aside a portion of their income in order to support the church (1 Corinthians 16:1-2).

1 Corinthians 16:1-2
1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. 2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

The New Testament nowhere assigns a certain percentage of income to set aside, but only says it is to be “in keeping with his income” (1 Corinthians 16:2). The Christian church has essentially taken the 10% figure from the Old Testament tithe and applied it as a “recommended minimum” for Christians in their giving. Although the New Testament does not identify a specific amount or percentage to give, it does talk about the importance and benefits of giving. They should give as they are able, in keeping with his income, or as Paul says; "as God hath prospered him". Sometimes that means giving more than a tithe, sometime that may mean giving less than a tithe. It all depends on the ability of the Christian and the needs of the church. Each and every Christian should diligently pray and seek God’s wisdom as to whether to participate in tithing and/or for how much he or she should give (James 1:5). “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

2 Corinthians 9 6-7:

6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
