Not long ago on near the same spot 15 people lost thier lives while returning from work in a ghastly motor accident caused by break failure of a trailer http://channelkoos.com/index.php/news/394-breaking-news-carnage-on-abujakeffi-road Since they are not prominient nothing is heard about them or thier families. |
These pictures were taken at about 9pm last night. Many passengers alighted from their vehicles and are seen trekking from mogadishu Cantonment (Abacha barracks) to Nyanya. About 5km
|
This is what happens when there is only one road out of the city. |
Three persons were killed on the Abuja-Nyanya road yesterday in a multiple accident involving 16 vehicles, an FRSC official, Mr Jonas Agwu, said.Yesterday was horrible for commuters returning from work as the only road linking Abuja and the satelite towns of Nyanya, Karu, Mararaba was blocked as a result of a multiple autocrash. This road and a notorious spot in particular has been responsible for the deaths of scores of Nigerians every year. |
^^^yep he has spoken against election rigging but said little or nothing about election violence, he should also speak out against BH, JAMB, ANSARU, etc. His silence on these issues could be interpreted as support. |
solopumpy227: Yes there are millions of more qualified Nigerians but he is the ONLY ONE who has come close to demolishing PDP rigging empireMy dear times have changed. Gen Mohammed Buhari was born December 17, 1942 that will make him 73 years in 2015. Will Americans vote in a 73 year old man to lead thier country today? Also most people in the south in general see him as a religious fanatic with interest only for the north. If wants to win the election come 2015 he has to reach out more to those in the sw, ss, se. Before Rochas became a Governor, he was a great philantrophist. I know Buhari also renders aid in some form or another but he has to do more to publicise them. Nobody will blow your trumpet for you. That said I still maintain that it would be much better for him to step aside and give fatherly advice, rather than struggle with the boys. |
What if the FG extends amnesty and Boko Haram rejects it. What next? |
His stlye of leadership would certainly be a departure from what we have at present but there are thousands of more qualified than him out there. Age is not on his side History is not on his side(He forcefully took over a democratic government) I think he should just retire as a statesman in honour. |
Can somebody tell me what BH, JAMB and Ansaru are fighting for ![]() |
Then this

They went from this....

If they are granted amnesty then the FG should be ready to do same for more violent groups. |

More than 3,000 policemen and 100 State Security Service (SSS) operatives have been deployed in Borno State to protect President Goodluck Jonathan, who is visiting the state and neighbouring Yobe between today and tomorrow. The two states are the epicentre of Boko Haram’s activities. Thousands have been killed in the insurgency launched by the sect, which is pushing for sharia, the strict Islamic code, among others. The security cover for the President’s first visit since the insurgency began, will be coordinated by the Chief of Defence Staff, Vice-Admiral Ibrahim Ola Sa’ad and Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Abubakar. Following security advice on restriction of movement, the Borno State government has declared Friday a public holiday. It was gathered that more than 100 SSS operatives from Gombe, Bauchi and other nearby states were deployed for the President’s visit. The President will be accompanied by nine ministers. They are those in charge of Works, Education, Mines and Steel, Water Resources, Agriculture, Power, Environment, Housing and Urban Development. The Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Dr. Sani Sidi, is also on the entourage. “To ensure water-tight protection for the President, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Inspector-General of Police, and other security chiefs are expected to co-ordinate this. “The President’s advance team is already in Maiduguri as part of the preparations for the visit”, a source said. Another source in Borno State said: “We are expecting the President to pass the night in Maiduguri on Thursday after his visit to Yobe. The President will meet with stakeholders at a Town Hall Meeting on Friday in Maiduguri . “As part of the visit to Borno, there will be tight screening of vehicles and movement will be restricted. As a matter of fact, the number of reporters covering the trip will be restricted.” Since these security measures are likely to cause inconvenience for the people of Borno State, Governor Kashim Shettima declared Friday a work-free day. “This holiday will enable most residents of Maiduguri to stay at home and watch the state visit live on television. “I can tell you that it is the tight security arrangement that has accounted for the public holiday,” he said. Secretary to Yobe State Government Babagoni Machina said all was set for the visit. Machina said: “We hope the visit will afford the President the opportunity to appreciate the development that has taken place in the state in the past few years. “As you can see, all arrangements have been completed and we are ready to receive President Jonathan. We are also happy to have the president visiting our state and we pray that Allah will bring him safely and take him back safely as well.” Commissioner of Police Sanusi Rufai said his men were leaving no stone unturned to ensure a hitch-free visit by the commander-in-chief. He said more reinforcement of men had been brought to the state, adding that “all our men and officers have the operation order and plan which we have since put in place.” He urged hoodlums not to attempt any breach of the peace during the visit. Jonathan is expected to inaugurate some projects. Some of the projects include the 300 housing units along Gujba bye-pass, built by the state government, the dual carriage road and the ultra-modern library at the Yobe State University. Commissioner for Housing Mohammed Ago Dala, said all the houses were built to standard awaiting inauguration. He described the housing as second to none, adding that “people get houses in Yobe almost free because it is only in Yobe State that houses are subsidised by 65 per cent and in the event of death, all unpaid balances are waived by the government”. Damaturu, the state capital, is wearing a new look. The Ministry of Environment is battling to keep the town clean. Posters of President Jonathan and Governor Ibrahim Gaidam have taken over the major streets and electric poles. The Ministry of Works, through direct labour, has filed the potholes on Damaturu roads. GraphicsPlus: I can only tell you that hitworksweb.com is an amateur web design company. What is wrong wit using a free template? Are his clients complaining? I believe anyone can use anything to create a website, As long as he gets jobs and is responsive to his clients needs. I get pissed off when someone criticizes a website as unprofessional based on template design and not the site's functionality. Thats why many website designers are broke. They are still stuck in the past with p3 reasoning. If my client needs an urgent work and is not ready to pay a good price as many of them here in Nigeria are.... rather than walk away, i get a template and design a site for him. He is happy, i am happy. If on the other hand he is a techie and knows the value of codes and is ready to pay, i give him what he wants. |

The the military ways of handling protesters need to be reviewed. Two promising leaders of this country have been wasted today. Just becase they were asking for water. Its so sad. |
Table Leg :I dont have to decend to using gutter language just to make a point. Get the context. I am outraged that people should die just because they are legitimately asking the autorities to provide water. |
Dospix: Pls for those in nasarawa state university, i just got an information that some of the people walking around the skul are not students but sleepers sent to take pictures of protesting student.be carefulWhich type of SLEEPERS? |
berem: mumu can you stay without water? seems you have not lived in a students hostel before and experience scarcity of water, then you know how it feels.rubbish!Berem Must you use foul language? Anyway I am incensed that a student should have to lose his life in a peaceful protest because of water . You did not get the context of my comment. |
Just because of water?? |
Sibrah: I hope the new location will be easy to access for people coming into Lagos from other parts of the country and west Africa as well. Computer Village is the main computer market in the whole of west Africa if not Africa, Fashola shouldn't do anything to change this economically enviable fact.yeah, I dont think the new location be as easy to locate as the present day computer village? |
