Jobs/Vacancies / Re: I Have Been Offered Two Jobs And I Don't Know Which One To Choose. Please Help by ifechukwukamso: 11:40am On Feb 02, 2018
Archangel01:
Good morning guys
Please I need your advice.
I have been offered a job in two different companies. I am confuse on which one to choose.

The first offer is =

Salary #80,000.

Base on the arrangements I get to work for 15 days a month.

Transportation expenses #3000 a month.

THE SECOND JOB OFFER.

Salary #95,000

I get to work everyday of the month ( Friday, Saturday and Sunday's are a must ) and I also have to do some other things that are not part of my original job

One off day a week.

Transportation expenses #12,000

Please ooo
If you are in my position which one will you choose.

Ps. I only intend to work for just 2 years because I have other plans for my future.

I think it would depend on which of the job offer is more related to what you studied in university. This would add to your job experience and help boost your professional development, and further boost your CV for future reference in academic or employment. However, if everything is equal, then the first job is obviously better. Congrats

Dear all,
For those of you preparing for IELTS
Go to www.edx.org and register.
Search for IELTS by university of Queensland and join. Its free except you want a verified certificate.
Though it is academic module they are discussing now, i think it also a good resource for general
All the best

Hi everyone,
AVO asked that I pay for RIGHT OF PERMANENT RESIDENCE FEE for me and my spouse and APPLICATION FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE FEE for our new born.

Questions:
1) Should the bank draft be raised differently?
2) From the fee guide, I deduced that the right of permanent residence fee is CAN$490/person and Application for permanent residence fee is CAD$150 for a new born. Am I correct?
3) I do not have a domiciliary account, how can I get a bank draft raised in foreign currency?

I will anticipate your kind reply.

You can raise both in one draft. You have the option of raising it in USD or CAD. Get someone with a dom account and you are home and drive. Congrats

Hi damkollins, pls I need an advice, I just got my bank draft from royal bank of Canada for the purpose of the on going fsw but a mistake was made on the draft, the bank draft was issued IFO of Receiver general of Canada instead of receiver general for Canada, can this pose a threat to cashing of the money. I would have raised another draft but the year is almost ending and before it gets shipped back to Nigeria might just take a while.
Pls, I need a response asap on this subject. Anybody in the house can respond.
Thank you so Zeelo much. I'm kind of assured that the issue of "of and for" is nothing to worry about.

No worries. My was written recieved for Canada by GTB nigeria but was accepted. Provided their quid is complete other ones na grammar

The only option is to increase my IELTS score by rewriting it or asking my wife to make it up for me.

If you look very well.....both addresses are the same.
I assume you are sending your documents through Courier service.
If you are sending it through courier service, the "P.O.Box 1639" in the address is needless as courier service is not meant to deliver to a post office box.
Courier Service are meant to hand-deliver to recipient physically which is why the other address is the most useful one.
The address below is the preferred choice for courier service

Immigration Program|Programme d'immigration (KAS)
High Commission of Canada| Haut Commissariat du
42,Independence Avenue,
Accra,Ghana.

The "P.O.Box 1639" is correct too but its for registered post mail to post office.
Cheers.

Thanks Damkolin for your amazing explanation
Now am fully assured of the better addy

Thanks Solo for the address
I have a domiciliary account and a functioning token.
I have gone through the GTB online platform.
I saw draft in transit but I think its for only naira draft
Am not currently in 9ja so I cannot fund my naira account but my dollar account has enough for the draft.
I called my account officer in gtb and he said I can only do for naira draft online. He said becos of fraud they only do foreign currency draft in person.
So I guess I have to raise it when I get back.
Thanks again

OK. So, this is to thank everyone in this forum for sharing and the sacrifice. I have learnt from this forum that when people come together and share ideas and experiences on a particular issue it makes for smooth and comprehensive knowledge acquisition. As a matter of fact since i stumbled on this forum, i now seek information from platforms like this rather than goggling in trying to get information on certain procedural matters or issues. Thanks again to everyone for making this possible and saving most Nigerian 3000-4000USD for lawyers fee. May God water all your seeds and give you prosperity in all you lay your hands to do. Solomonwise, i specifically want to say THANK U to you for initiating this forum. I think we should change your name now to solomonwizard cheesy
Just to update the house on my timeline
June 2013 i sent my application
July 6 it was received
September or October 2013 got my PER
September 2014 got the request for Medicals. Was also requested to send a new police report, and a updated generic form and additional information form for me and spouse. The moral of the story is Patience while you watch and pray
Just one more question to the house
I am almost set to send to Accra office but wanted to make assurances double on the address. Though i got an address from this forum but another person sent me a similar address but with some subtle differences. Am now asking which one do i use
This or that
Thanks to you all
God bless ya all

YES, you can raise the bank draft from GT Bank online platform and you have a list of branches all over the country where you can pick the draft up from either by yourself or by proxy (detailed on the platform).

For the CAD bank draft, all you need are:

1. A GT Bank Domiciliary account (fully funded)

2. A Token hardware

You can raise the bank draft at the comfort of your home/office by following the simple instruction on the platform.

All information requested from the Accra visa office has to be sent via post mail (preferably via courier)...DHL seems to be their preferred courier company (That is not to say you can't make use of others).

The address is:

Immigration Program | Programme d'immigration (KAS)
High Commission of Canada | Haut commissariat du Canada
P.O. Box 1639
42 Independence Ave., Accra, Ghana

Phone | Tél.: +233 (030) 2211521

If you have a GT Bank account (domiciliary),you can raise the draft on the online platform in Canadian Dollar and request the pick up branch to be one of the pick up branches in Benin. You don't have to physically visit the bank to do this. Just get a domiciliary account,go to your online platform and raise the draft...As simple as that (I know this to be true of GT Bank).

Dear solo are you saying one can raise a bank draft for the right of residence fee on the GTB online platform for one with dom account? If yes, that makes life easy. Please how do I do it biko?

Secondly, does anyone know the address to send additional documents requested by one's immigration officer. For instance I was requested to update some of the initial forms sent to CIC due to family addition, new police report etc. After getting all that I need to send all this to accra office via air mail probably DHL or TNT. What address should I use. Thanks for anticipated responses.

damkollins:
I'm familiar with Gtbank in raising draft.
You need to have a domiciliary account with them and fund your account with equivalent amount of draft you want to raise.
You can now instruct them to raise the draft in Canadian dollars and give them the recipient details.
After funding your account....you can raise your draft within 3 hours.
Where is your location in Nigeria?
Cheers.

Quoting from the Accra Visa Office website...

"... The Canadian High Commission in Accra accepts fees in Canadian dollars, U.S. dollars, and Ghanaian cedis. Processing fees are non-refundable regardless of the outcome of the application.
Correct fees must be paid when submitting the application or the application will not be accepted.
Fees are non-refundable, except for Right of Permanent Residence Fee. RPRF is refundable if refused or not landed.
Fees are subject to change without notice.
Method of Payment

Only the following forms of payment, in Ghanaian, U.S. or Canadian funds, are acceptable:

Certified Cheque
Bank Draft

*** Note: We do not accept personal cheques

Bank Draft and Certified Cheques:

Payment to be made by bank draft or certified cheque.
Cedi payments are payable to "The Canadian High Commission".
If you are paying in Canadian dollars, the bank draft or certified cheque should be addressed to the Receiver General for Canada and should be cleared on a Canadian bank.
If you are paying in US dollars, the bank draft or certified cheque should be addressed to the Receiver General for Canada and should be cleared on an American bank.
Important: Bank drafts and certified cheques have a limited validity. Ensure that your bank draft or certified cheque is not older than 4 months for Canadian and American Bank drafts and 6 months for Ghanaian Bank drafts when it reaches our office.

http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/ghana/visas/fees-frais.aspx

You can raise a bank draft IFO The receiver General for Canada in Canadian dollar from Guaranty Trust Bank for all fees as requested.

As mentioned by damkollins, your medical form should be in your mail a maximum of 48 hours after the medical instruction.

Congratulations!

Congrats for your medical request .
Don't worry....the forms will be sent to you within or after 24hours.....be checking your mails...it will surely come.
On the mode of payment.......I'm presuming Accra is your local visa office so my response is referencing to Accra visa office.
Accra don't seems to accept online payment for RPRF .....they accept only Bank drafts or Certified cheques in Ghanian ,US or Canadian funds (currencies). The processing fee of 150CAD for your new born too will follow same mode as listed above .
Please check the link below to confirm what i said......

I'm sure the address to send the draft to will be contacted in your mail....or check the website with other forms to be updated.

so..... from my latest correspondence with my case officer........really dunno know how they do it........but these guys verify every single damn thing........bottom line they've been doing sum background checks on me....and they contacted linkedin 2 verify my profile, work experience, bla bla bla.......(mind u my linkedin profile was a private profile not public).......they screen printed d page & attached it 2 d mail sent 2 me...........they wanted explanations about some components of my job description which i purposely left out in my app form........

secondly they were like i didn't notify them about the change in career/job which i was supposed 2 have done ASAP.... even when am still on probation in my new place of work......

thirdly they called my bank 2 verify if d cash is sitting in my acc..........unfortunately i had only 20k in dat acc.......so they wanted clear explanations as per my source of funds.......

bottom line.....these cats verify every single damn thing.....from ur facebook profile 2 linkedin profile or jobsearch boards, social media, and work experience........so be careful with what u place online about urself.

Thanks for the information.

Have you heard of the US owned world bank? Do you know how they operate in Africa, how about the European owned IMF - are you aware that they make billions of dollars from the interest generated from lending money to third world nations ?

Nigeria could have been the leader of the black world had it not been for Europe and America who have worked day and night to keep Nigeria backward and underdeveloped - the west do not want any black nation to ever rise and compete with them because they know that Africa holds all of the world's resources and if allowed to develop unhindered will become a threat to their position as economic world powers.

Nigeria could easily have the kind of health care service that the UK has but the IMF have made sure that we spend more paying the interest on loans borrowed from their corrupt banks than we spend on educating our own people. When you talk about the corruption of our leaders always trace back and find out how those leaders got into those positions in the first place, who is responsible for making sure that Nigeria would only be ruled by the north - Britain. who armed the north against the igbos who tried to secede from the corrupt british created entity known as Nigeria - Britain, who financed and assisted IBB into power - Britain - do you think this same Britain who has done everything possible to keep you backward will ever allow you to prosper? Why is IBB not in prison for the crimes he committed against the Nigerian people? why have all the crooks that have been ruling Nigeria for years been allowed to get away with their crimes ? How come genuine people who try to make a difference in Africa always end up six feet under?

Whatever change that has occurred since you received your PER can always be communicated with your case officer. You can contact your case officer at anytime during the process as soon as you know who your case officer is.

Of course they don't expect your circumstance to be static all through the process,so whatever it is that has changed MUST be communicated and the appropriate documentation of the changes forwarded as soon as demanded by your case officer.

Thanks
