My bro are you not running forward too muchhuh? You are not even sure of getting mobilised by June for NYSC!! I will only ask you to calm down and start service... DIPB rules might even change to your favor or against you by then.
My 2 cents.
quote author=mctowel01 post=41207489]Hello everyone. I ll be very glad to get your kind responses to this

I want to migrate to australia through masters in Electrical Engineering. I read elect elect bsc in unilag with a 3.0/5. I also want to use the post study 2 yrs and also process my PR from there. My service will start june/july 2016 to may/june 2017. I dont have work experience. I am planning my masters resumption with july 2017 in take.

1. I am planning to write my ielts by december 2016. I also want to use the same ielts result for all my processing there, ie student visa, scholarships/internships available, 2 years post study visa and finally PR(189 visa). I ve read that to get PR, the ielts result has a validity of 3 years, how true is this?
Will this be possible to use the same ielts result especially till the PR stage

2. Is transiting from student visa to the 2 years post study 485 visa an easy process? Hence howlong does it take? Can i use the remaining visa time after my msc to get it. Will it be an easy process? Can someone tell me the neccesary conditions and documents required for it? Will it be an easy process. I ve read about it from other sites, but i m quite scared on this plan, so can an experienced person tell me/ give me assurance.

3. My plan on getting the PR is
Age: 30
Australian qualification: 15
2 years study in australia: 5
Regional area: 5
Ieslt of min 7: 10
Total: 65

I ll be choosing skill on SOL as Electrical Engineering. What are my chances?

My bsc is of 4 years cos i came through direst entry from diploma to 200 level.
I read about getting skill assessment from engineers australia. Will my bsc status with 4 years from nigeria cause any problems even with my msc from australia in the same course.

Finaly, i also read that to use the independent 189 visa(no work experience) the final qualification should be at most 6 months before PR application. How fast will the previois applications be to enable me still get 3 years ielts validity(if i write it in latest jan 2017) in order to apply for the PR.

I am suprised reading down, i have not seen many apply through this route(2 yrs aus msc with no experience) Someone pls rate my plans and chances of getting a PR on a 100 scale. I ll gladly glady appreciate. Thanks for even taken time to read down. Responses are warmly welcomed.[/quote]

My Bro na so we see am. It is possible through the permanent resident route but na long thing; documentation, processes, cost and above all the waiting and incessant request for additional documents! They LOVE to take their time and are very thorough to the smallest minutest of things! The PR advocates here, NNBB et al don tire self! All man na students route with PR in view. There has been just two PR grants here in the past six months......mine will be the next IJN!

Fedex. Reliable and the cheapest in its class (dhl, ups, etc). I always use them.
bikerboy1:
Good day all.

Please I need advice on how to send my documents to USC as regards the courier service to use. One which will be fast, safe and cost effective.
An application I sent to the school through mail including scanned documents, was rejected. They sent me a mail asking me to send the application form with certified copies of my supporting documents directly to the school through courier .

Thanks in advance
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Ifexsco: 4:34pm On Nov 17, 2015
That's no problem....if they are not okay with what you uploaded, they will send a mail requesting for what they need. Don't fret yourself.....am speaking from experience grin
scrollmeout:
Please NNBB2012, Do you know anyone who uploaded coloured copies recently with no hassles? I just uploaded all my scanned documents and there is no way to delete them and I just saw this on the checklist

" All supporting documents must be scanned and uploaded with your application. All documents that you provide must be certified copies of original documents. Do not include original documents unless specifically requested to do so by the department. Documents not in English must be accompanied by accredited English translations"
.

Thanks for the information.
GodWinGodwin:
Hi Ifexsco,
Yes. Myself, wife and a child of 2 years plus(not an infant). So we had to pay about 75% of adults' rate for him. No specific policy conditions for a child. They are treated almost as adults. Only infants have specific conditions and seriously cheap fares, I suppose.
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Ifexsco: 4:17pm On Oct 30, 2015
Thank God for you! The family of 3 means yourself, your wife and child? How old is your child? What's Emirates policy on children? Thanks.
GodWinGodwin:
Guyz,

IOM is God-sent o. I paid 571k for a family of 3 to Brisbane on prestigious Emirates.
God bless the contributors on this forum. Information is a great asset. Una too much.

Cheers.

What date does you employment letter have? That is an issue. If you can get your employment letter to read the start of you NYSC, then fine....but one golden rule is never forge anything, they must definitely will find out....think of this also, have you mentioned NYSC anywhere in your former applications? Don't contradict yourself.

The problem is that i was paid cash all through my youth service with no payslip, tax or pension statement to back it up or do you think my 6 month salary statement would suffice since its the same coy all through. Would definitely give PTE-A a go.

What is the current economic situation in Australia like? Would i have to do bridging course to boost my job chances or go for a tafe diploma? Sent you a PM.

Thanks

I have ready it on this thread and in Nigeria all things are possible! Get the finger print form (it flying everywhere online), do a neat finger printing, scan it at maybe 600 dpi to your contact in Nigeria. You have to send other things like your passport photograph and copy of your Intl passport. Alternatively or in addition, you could send the original form to the person by courier. It can be done by proxy, it is no biggie. When I went and did mine, I discovered that those guys are much more interested in the money than establishing you have no criminal records. Did mine for 5000. My 2 cents.

Hello house, I'm in serious need of you guys help. I applied for a visa and now the case of officer contacted me requesting for my Nigeria PCC. I'm currently in Australia and I don't have any Idea on how to get the PCC to her within two weeks. They said my finger print and presence is needed to get it, and the procedure outlined on the Nigeria immigration website for getting it will take more than two weeks. I need suggesting on the fastest way to obtaing it by proxy pls. I'm currently on bridging visa.
Cheers

Look at few pages before this....say from 121, you will see it discussed extensively. Guys, especially the JJCs, always take time to read previous pages and not coming straight to post questions which have been discussed as recent as two pages away! Funny enough also, people don't respond to many of them because it's obvious the "asker" doesn't want to do any 'work"!

He will not get a positive assessment from EA because of his non-engineering background. He should look through CSOL or SOL for a close occupation not been assessed by EA. Yes, he has to do his assessment and get a positive assessment, do IELTS or PTE before submitting an expression of interest, EOI. my 2 cents though. I will also advise, go through this thread, you will find all you need.

Wow! That's great! You are almost there! Thanks for the this insight....we dey come.
izykvision0:
Lol. Settled down now. Came in thru airbnb. Paid for a week. Cldn't get a place that fast and my host especially d wife started having some funny attitude, which we guessed was cos of our kid as him no look uche face, just dey jump everywhere lol. But dey didn't have a choice but to take payment for another week. So spent 2 weeks with airbnb; and still didn't get a place, but was just lucky on my 13th day to get a shared accommodation. Stayed there for 3weeks and now got a proper place. Quite nice and descent, bills inclusive. So sorted my family tax benefit, which currently pays like 70% of my rent, sorted my kid's childcare -out of $84 a day, I pay $20 and govt. covers d rest. My wife got a job in 5weeks of arrival in an Insurance firm. I am still doing interviews. Lengthy stages cos of my field - customer analytics. But almost there by His grace.
In all Australia is a lovely place and a better place for kids compared to the UK or US.

SPE! Pounds and Dollars! ''Without industry exp'' is not totally the case.... My CDRs were from my MSc internship, a consultancy project I was involved in for NAPIMS and then my lecturing job.

Na God..... grin. By the advice of some guys here, Ferdimako and Be long, I let the cat out of the bag early. I wrote them long before I was assigned ....reporting myself. They noted and the last email says they believe it was done inadvertently but I would still have been invited with 60 at subsequent rounds. So the only crime was that I got invited earlier than I should have.
scrollmeout:
Hi Ifexsco, i heartily look forward to hearing your good news. Your grant is 90% loading. I'm pleasantly suprised that your CO is reasonable and cooperative. I know of a guy on another forum whose PR application / invitation was cancelled cos the CO said he over claimed points for experience, 65 instead of 60 overall points. Though it was an error, he wasn't given the chance to respond or correct it. Thank God for you bro!

BTW, @Futuredon, it seems you also like my signature brown font colour cool

Oga, how yonder? Have submitted all the required docs, my CO has requested to correct my inadvertent error(that is correct my score from 65 to 60). So am awaiting my good news! grin. What do you think of Perth....for a Pet. Engineer without industry exp?
NNBB2012:
@ Ifexsco, Any new development regarding your application?

Bros.....a beg which mobile network did you use to call them? House....what's the cheapest network for calling Australia? Thanks for the response.
ewagbamio:
@laminaria and erictack2003, you guys are experts in this business. I called the admission office and it went exactly as you predicted. I gave them my details and the official immediately told me they are aware of my request. He said it's due to the large no of applications being processed at this time but I should expect the revised offer letter by about mid next week.

I also asked about the best option for making payment ie Card vs T/T he said both are fine but he seems to prefer the Card option. I had loaded my phone with a lot of credit expecting to be put on hold with music playing and all but the whole conversation was over in 6mins. 39naira/min

thanks to all the gurus who take their time out to post answers here, NL is, to me > google because of you

Thanks for the info Bro! We dey come.... grin
entrepreallianc:
I salute all the Nlanders in the house. I have decided to provide some info that will help those who have just got their visas and are planning on coming over.
these are the basic things you will need.
1. A new mindset... Australia is a very good place but with very different set of laws for everything.
2. Come with enough money for your house rent (rent for one room with other facilities shared is btw $150-220 weekly depending on where you are staying) , a car(a car is a necessity here) and other basic necessities.
3. learn to drive and come with a proper drivers license- go to road safety and do the right thing, it will save you years of seeking a drivers permit here.
4. Food is cheap here except for people who are adamant on eating Nigerian food, cos african food is expensive here. 16 cubes of knorr na $5. All that Gari you take for granted is gold here. N500 goat meat is $12 here.
5. Dont bring too much clothes and shoes, clothes here depends on the weather and you have good bargains all over and for shoes it will shock you to see them walking bare feet most of the time. dem no send you at all. When you get to the airport, get a lebara line for enough talk time to those back in naija. for $29.90 about N4k monthly, you have 3 hrs talk time to naija and 2GB, and unlimited talk time within australia, optus and Telstra are good as well but dont give enough talk time to Naija.
6. For guys, buy a clipper and start learning how to shave your hair. For ladies buy wigs and learn how to do basic weaving for yourself, it will save you cash in your first few months.
7. Get all the practical skills you can use before coming
8. The first jobs you will do here will be MENIAL JOBS, except you have a job offer from Nigeria. get ready to get a white card for those who intend to work in basic construction sites or do an aged care or disability course to get into the system quickly with an aged care job. other jobs will be cleaning, working in warehouses etc. the basic pay for a cleaner here is about $17-23.40 per hour. So dont expect that to pay your fees.
9. If you can pursue the PR route, thats the best way to come to Australia.
You will be better prepared with this information. Australia is one of the best countries in the World... I can say that again and again.
my two cents...
