Family › Re: Men: Please Can We Talk About Verbal, Mental And Emotional Abuse? by ifyalways(f): 1:20pm On Sep 27, 2012
@Afam, I'll try to break it down.
Some men, I'm sorry to say are stoopid when they are in love. They downgrade themselves, take all and every poo a girl throws at them just because they (think) they are in love. They hurt but because the seex is good or the girl is pretty hang on to relationships that are not healthy.

2 years down the line, they are married to the same girl and you expect the girl to change?no one should be blinded or foolish just Cos s/he is in love. Once you smell abuse, firmly put your feet down and nip it in the bud. No glossing over or overlooking.

I daresay it goes for both sexe, don't tolerate or give anyone room/power to abuse you.

its neither fear nor cowardice but I know that there are certain lines I dare not cross with my husband. He gets my 100% respect because he deserves it and its mutual.

Afam, if as a man, you don't know how to be firm and lead a woman in love, you have no business getting married. You don't have to be a commando, "rule" over your house or turn your home to a barracks either. Just be a Man. . . to the letter.

My personal opinion is that any man that is being abused by the wife or GF has himself to blame.

A man is the head of the home, he should be able to control and lead in his home. If he falls short or for any reason fails not to live up to that, that's his own wahala.

Btw, I think abused men can't even speak out. They'll get so mocked and laughed at.

Perhaps if young boys and girls were much more responsible, using protection as opposed to engaging in careless seex, some of those kids won't be on the streets.

You wanted a naïve village girl, now you got her, enjoy the "full package"

Story is seriously unbelievable!

22 years old to scatter a laptop just so she wants to re-arrange the keyboard?

Have you asked the help for her own version of what happened?

See me oh! Why not quote and address the people that went and confessed twas a church you used?

Point is brother, no reason, not even a single one is good enough to conduct an interview in a church. QED!
Do the interview in the office even as renovation is on going or postphone the interview.

You said you've been on this for 8 years and yet you have no online presence? No website or even common blog, no list of clients that you work for/with, no testimonial from anyone, no company that networks with you? For 8 years?

Bros, no quote me again. Abeg.

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Urgent Federal Civil Service Job In Abuja. by ifyalways(f): 7:55am On Sep 26, 2012
^ ^ meant HR head and not Hour head.

Years ago, I was working with KLM.it was rush hour @ the tkt desk so I left my office, went to the tkt counter to help. A young lady that came to make a date change on her clients ticket approached me and said she wants to see the manager. I took her to my office and guess what, she boldly told me she wants to work with us as a reservation officer. She went ahead to sell her self to me listing all her professional skills and other added advantages she possess. Her courage got me first, next was her perfect grasp of the biz. She asked for my number and email. My number to keep in touch, email to send her CV. Next day, her CV was already in my box and she sent me an sms to inform me of that. Long story short, some 2 months later, there were vacant positions @ the tkt desk and she was first to be employed.

I'm not saying the OP should stalk anyone but identifying an opportunity, going the extra mile plus being extremely good at what you do (be ever able to defend your cert. ) helps.
Goodluck OP.
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Urgent Federal Civil Service Job In Abuja. by ifyalways(f): 7:53am On Sep 26, 2012
I'm living here in Naija, though I'm not a job seeker but with the Op's mindset, he can only get a job via "settling"

The money that you'll use in sorting an agent is more than enough for you to use and go round the companies/organisations you are interested in, meet the HOUR head, sell yourself to him or her, leave your CV behind and keep pushing.

We just limit ourselves, are not ready to go the extra mile and always waiting to be bottle fed.

So for how many months now, my fellow woman is nursing emotional abuse + supernatural konji huh
Chai!

Something is wrong. Either the man never loved her, was trapped into the marriage, find her unattractive anymore or there's another woman. If I were the woman, I'll sit my husband down and find out what the problem is. Knowing what's eating him up would be a pointer on the way to go.
Family › Re: Mother Being Called Aunty by ifyalways(f): 7:08am On Sep 26, 2012
My thoughts was that such occurs only with children that didn't spend their childhood days with their mom. Eg kids that spent their first to ten years with grannie or aunt. They tend to refer to whoever they grew up with as mom(if they are not being maltreated) and their biological mom as aunty.

@metalgoong,your mom was cool with you guys calling her "aunty" ?
