I'm not Yoruba but I would try,it looks more like a friendly banter.
"Your ear and ur head.Thank u Osan Orudepoh(2nd speakers name maybe?)
I want to rest,thank you.
If you are done(talking maybe),mind your business.
Leave me alone, you make me laugh.
If i slap you, you'd see stars(you'd be dazed)
I dont have ur time cos its about to rain.
Please,I don't know ur name.
I would marry you again.
Am i holding you?"

NOTE:My translations are not perfect.

Hello fellow igbo nigerian friends!
can someone please assist translate this into igbo language? i'm assisting my 7yr old with his school assignment on five sentences about Dogs. Thanks i await your response.

Dogs are the best companions a human could get on Earth
They are suitable to play with when bored.
They are loyal and will stay by your side.
They bark to alert of any stranger or strange actions
Dogs loves eating bones.
Done at the Igbo kwenu thread.

Valon4ego:
Please can someone translate this igbo word "arinze" as in "arinze chukwu" (i doubt anybody can)
Arinze Chukwu means 2 things:

This happened because of God
All thanks be to God.

A better example:
Arinze na i bialu,aguru choro igbu m.
Thank God you came,i wud have starved to death.
If not for your coming,i would have starved to death.

Obviously, the visitor brought the first person food.

Area fada,IMO thats personal/Familal problem not culture.
I think we all need to start off first by defining Culture and cultural pratices.

Culture is not same with societal/generally accepted norm.

Vitrol MD,one Oyibo wan piss for bodi.He was drilled and he had NO answer for all the holes in his presentation.

Then the funniest lot so far,the md(marketer) that is sick and came from his hospital bed.His PA that was suppossed to represent him/speak on his behalf said "I was not there when he was chopping subsidy money".
LMAO!
They were sent back home to come back at a later date.

Abagworo dash me 1 of ur virgin lands, biko?

@Topic,willing buyer + willing seller = Perfect Market.
I like to believe that for as long as Igbo's exist,a man's wealth is measured by the size of his barn, number and size of his farmlands, size of his obi, chieftancy title(s) and disposition of wife(ves).
As an ada and a young girl,my dad drummed into my ears the importance of landed properties, ala mbu m zuru,o tinyere m ego iji gwo ugwo ya.Cars, jewelrries and most frivolities depreciate, land(ed) properties appreciate.

Btw,this is not an Igbo thing.More of an individual thing and cuts across all tribes.

Ndipe and double standards!

Lavish weddings which is obviously a borrowed culture sounds norm and cool to you, right?cos according to u,its a worldwide trend?

If we wanna condemn lavish ceremonies,it should be all round and balanced.

I don't support "forced" lavish ceremonies, mind you,be it for celebration of life or death but if one can afford and has within him/her seen reasons to do it big,so be it.

And that "lavish funeral" stuff is NOT a must,Forget the lies people spin on WWW.With exception of royalties,no one is forced to have a big funeral for the dead!People can suggest, people can choose not to attend but NO one would stop anyone from burying his/her dead cos s/he did not throw a lavish ceremony.

@Topic,brb.

@Veritaaz,are you Igbo?

Your translations,my attempt:

1.Nkita bu enyi kacha nma mmadu nwere ike inweta n'uwa a.

In proper translation, companion is not "enyi" but because you said its for your kid using enyi wud keep it simple.

O buru na i bu onye Igbo + onye nna, gbalia muta ide na isu Igbo.

Umunne m,udo chia.
Nke onye chiri,ya zelu.
Ndu mmiri na ice fish.LOL

Bomb blasts in Northern Nigeria is no more news, sorry.

The govt. and people are used to it and have quickly(by God's grace) adapted to all the "BOOM BOOM" noise."sights of blood/corpse" moves no one these days,a "sigh accompained by its a pity or God have mercy/protect his own" is just about all we can do.

Contradicting reports.

Naija is a lawless jungle and to survive these days, seems man must fortify self with a "potent otumkpo",one that covers bombs, accidental discharge bullets from police, area boys wahala, bad roads and accidents, hunger and unemployment, religious fanatics, politicians and their highway thugs etc.

Too bad,may God comfort her loved ones.
